  • Woodturning a ladder-style colored rolling pin from maple and walnut woods. A great woodturning project on the lathe for your chefs and cooking enthusiasts. Finished with food-grade walnut oil.
    Materials:
    - maple wood
    - walnut wood
    - 3/16" steel rod
    - 3/16" bushings
    - 5 minute epoxy

    You left out a key part, how did you drill the through hole the length of the pin?

      You are absolutely correct and I apologize for that. I did the glue-up and thought the camera was rolling but it wasn't.... I don't actually drill a hole but glue the wood together in such a way that it leaves a 3/16" square. I show how this was done in this video: ua-cam.com/video/VclWVwGz6cw/v-deo.html.

    Just curious, what were the green thin pieces on either side of the ladder made of? Learned a lot from the video, thanks.

      Hi Juvat, they are dyed pieces of wood. Same stuff skateboard decks are made from. Thanks for watching!
