  • How to adjust headlights on 2018 f150. Would work on other year f150s, just move adjuster and see. It's either clockwise or counter clockwise. Adjusted after leveling kit.

    Everyone that is looking to adjust their headlamps, please use a P2 Philips. There is a gear inside the adjuster the is designed specifically for a P2 sized Philips.

    Driver's side should be lower just to not aim lights too high at on coming traffic.
    Should add I think vehicles passenger side often leans that direction as roads are designed to move water to the edges and not center. So it would actually appear more level.

      And the driver's side is lower to not aim the light onto the driver's side mirror of the car in front of you.

      @@WICKEDAUTO1I actually brought my truck to the dealer after the leveling kit to get an alignment, and I specifically asked them to adjust the headlights. The mechanic said they were still in spec, just on the high side of the spec. So I said leave em. Yea, I am tired of getting flashed, so I'll adjust them myself. Thanks for the video!

    The passenger side is suppose to be higher than the driver side... it’s that way from manufacturer so that its easier to see road signs on right side of the road.

    I would think it would be good to check and mark where they shine before the leveling kit install, then adjust to get them back to that stock position. Like he did, put tape on a door to mark them before the leveling kit, then adjust to match after the leveling kit is installed.

    The reason the headlights are off like that is done for a reason. The right headlight is supposed to shine further down on the fog line (the white line) and the left light shines lower is so you don't shine so much onto oncoming traffic and see the yellow line better. Theres a machine that they have or use to have at at mechanic shops that you could have your lights set perfectly but I haven't seen them in years.

  • @Twisted_Biscuit
    @Twisted_Biscuit 3 роки тому +1

    Probably a little too late, but the driver headlight is lower by design for oncoming traffic, and passenger headlight is higher for viewing signs on the side of the road. They do need adjustment after leveling kits though.

      I went with a motofab 2in leveling kit. Leveled it out nicely and the ride in my opinion has gotten a little better. The bumps arent as stiff believe it or not. However, if you are after a lift but not suspension I would suggest a 3in kit from rough country. It is of course more expensive but I saw a f150 with it and stopped the guy to ask what the lift was and man did it look great. I have the link for my kit in my giveaway/mods video on here.

    Horrible narrative, your headlights should be set at a certain height, not raised or lowered based on a number of turns. If you look in the Ford manual it will tell you the proper distance of your truck from a wall, and how high that headlight should be on that wall.

    • @WICKEDAUTO1

      WickedF150 Look, I know you might want to be right, but in this case you’re wrong. Every vehicle headlight height might be different, if you lowered your F150 and the headlights were only 3 feet off the ground, you would not set them at 4 feet at 25 feet. What you are referencing is for a factory leveled F150.

    • @WICKEDAUTO1
      @WICKEDAUTO1  4 роки тому

      @@chrisronin4421 I will say some might need adjusted differently but it doesnt matter if your vehicle is lowered, lifted 2in or 6in, a good point of reference is 4ft as that gives you the height you need without blinding others. It's that simple
