The effect looks great! I have had very good success with using Triangle Coatings Sophisticated Finishes Rust Antiquing Set on plastic models. It's a two-bottle set. One bottle contains a paint with iron particles that you apply to the model wherever you want rust. The other bottle contains a rust activator solution that you apply over the iron paint that will form rust in a few minutes. Really cool effect.
Absolutely genius ideas and great video presentation, once again! Thanks for sharing your creative talents with us in a very user friendly and well put-together video.
I'd like to see a video where you go for a true rat rod look or a treatment that looks like the car was made from junkyard parts before final finish work was done. So different color body panels in varying levels of wear and rust.
Thank you for this video as it really helped me a lot - I did this with my Rodger Dodger and used only four coats and I was so pleased with the results - 10/10!
The paint on in selective patches is what I want to achieve on my rusty custom. Although I have seen some pure rust cars in reality, but their age has been massive. Both effects are great. I have the tamiya powder , I also have some iron filings to tryout. Thanks as always for the tips.
Thanks for sharing another awesome how to video my friend, I always learn a lot from you. I think I'll try to make a "paint on" custom, it's also a great idea because it's quite cold here in my area and with this technique I won't have to worry about the orange peel effect, this time will be the more "goosebumps" the better the result. Lol.
I just started using tamiya weathering powders. They work so well!! I dunno if I have many of the ones I’ve used tamiya weathering powders on here on UA-cam. Haven’t uploaded in a long time
awesome sir, but excusme to ask u, when u apply the effect (tamiya), are u using some coating before on that diecast or u just applied directly on that material, thanks🙏
I did this on a truck that I am doing but I want a way to make the glass look weathered too. I was thinking hit it with some steel wool and then hit it with some softer steel wool to polish it after the first. Do you have any ways to do this?
_Tf you don't need to add a rust effect just make it rust lmao so dumb_ For the 3 people who think I'm being serious, I'm not this looks really good, and is therapeutic to watch.

Your work always amazes me. I wish I had all the proper tools.
You can make the rust powered your self look it up on UA-cam and look for videos that say how to make rust powered
Awesome! Revisited 2 years later for a refresher course. I like your method.
You have some great ideas and custom techniques. Do love to custom Hotwheels myself and thanks for the videos.
This was super helpful thank you. Personally I prefer the paint on look as i think it looks more interesting
Wow man. Thank u for these awesome video. The customs that you made looks great. Take care

How do you prefer to strip the paint?
I like The paint on look. I will try this.

+Evan Seabeck Most of the time I just air brush it on.... but I have also used the steal wool method with great results.
How do I remove the rivets without a drill?pls answer
I’ve got to try this 👍🏻
I want to do this since my old Chevy truck hot wheels is chipping, so I want to work with that to still make it look good.
I am working on a "burnt out" hot wheels car, what are some good techniques to make the car look heat distressed?
Great job!
Do you have to do anything special between colors for the brush
Here because I want to start making gaslands cars :)
awesome!
How well do these techniques work with plastic body vehicles?
Does it matter if you strip the paint off or not?
Awesome work, great share.
Did the windows on the first car you literally added dust and dirt?
Not bad and cool techniques but you could have used some filler on the eight crate?
Definitely plaint on
I just used red brown salt plus sea salt and put them in water
Just saying you shouldn’t rust the car fully you should do areas that are prone to rusting like chips or scratches
Do you think that if I leave it outside after doing this, would the powder come off?
not for a couple days...
Great stuff....a few ideas I’ve not tried on my rail wagons ........appreciated video....this should have been on the rusting video.....fred
Can this affect work on practice models
Cool!
When i put this on my 53 Chevy it didnt have the powder look.
What do u all use and where can I get it
Thanks
Paint on. 👍🏻
What the heck happened to the glass?
Awesome vid! I own the 8 crate too!

Did you wish to have "Undo" when building models?
Check this out: store.steampowered.com/app/1164250/Model_Builder/
dont spray it
but do spray it so it can dry
but dont spray... WHAT THE FUCK
_Tf you don't need to add a rust effect just make it rust lmao so dumb_

My method to make it look rusty: Place it outside for a few days. :-)
Disappeared..
Paint on
how do you get the rust effect with out texture
Vinegar and steal wool...
can you do a video?
Copot....ten kabeh.... Apik....😜😜😜😜😜😜😛😛😛😛😛😛😁😁😁😁
no te entiendo xdxdxdxdxdxdxddxdxddxdxdxdxdxdxdx encerio
On
Paint off
or just get the car wet and leave it outside in a puddle for a month
actually that would not work as the cars are not made of iron or steal...
Cool!
