People said traditional sword arts are useless in the street fight, but this video proves them wrong. Even the staff fighting techniques from Wing Chun can be applied to umbrella.
This is a very good EDC tool. I have bought 2 of these so far. The first being the one displayed in the video, called the "unbreakable umbrella" which is made in Poland. And that lasted me over ten years. And then the second one wilhich has a wooden handle, called a "security umbrella" and is made in Germany. Both are very durable and being fully functional Umbrellas can be taken anywhere. These also make for a nice utilization for cane techniques that are practiced in various arts like Hapkidõ, Hwa Rang Do, Kuk Sool Won, Ninjutsu, etc.
Extending batons are illegal here ,I carry a stainless steel walking stick. Very lightweight and strong with an ice pick on the end and a flying bird shape handle that resembles an axe, pity the fool 💥🤣😄
@@gabrielandradeferraz386 if legal 🤔I probably would carry a mace, did carry a hidden Katana in a walking stick, doubled as a two handed sword or spear🗡️💥
I have both the longer (37.5”) hooked handle “Unbreakable Umbrella” and the shorter (30.5”) ball handle “Security Umbrella” The “Unbreakable” is too long to use as a walking stick (I’m 5’8” / 172cm), looks more discrete, is less stiff, is clumsier to deliver blows with, and hitting with the handle end poses a big risk of having someone get away from you with the help of the hook. When thrusting with it while holding the handle I tend to depress the umbrella release button and the chance of it opening at an inopportune time is present. The “Security” is too short for me to use as a walking stick. The ball headed handle makes it look more obvious to someone who knows what they are looking at, is stiffer, more nimble, and easier to deliver significant blows with the handle. The wood used for the handle is hard wood but not extremely hard and it picks up nicks and dents unlike the curved plastic handle of the “Unbreakable”. The opening mechanism button is out of the way on the “Security” and overall it’s a more practical self defense tool. It also includes a sheath with a strap which wile it could be improved is still a very welcome addition. Edit: the “Security” is also available in 35” & 40” versions and with black painted or natural wood handles. My suggestion would be the 35” with natural wood if you can find that version.
Can it also handle wind? Many umbrella, even more expensive ones break in wind well before windspeeds reach the point where you can no longer walk. Also, if it can protect you against golfball sized hail, then it would be a real life saver even outside self defence... Speaking of martial application, can you parry a machete with it? I do know a few people who have such tools in their cars and in their homes without ever having to deal with jungle vegetation...
There is quite some power in thrusts and even some in slashes/whips. Maybe it is a gentlemens tool to disperse silly situations without too heavy dmg weapons.
you guys have clearly never played lawn darts with sharpened ikea umbrellas. they definitely aren't as durable but you can put one through a car if you're strong enough. it's the most basic of umbrellas, a long steel shaft attached to a handle.
Have you tried hitting using the curved handle? Can it withstand heavy blows and not easily come off? I'd like to know i would really want to buy this hahhaa

@@ernststravoblofeld Maybe those folks don't need a weapon today, but what about tomorrow, or the next day, or the day after that? Better safe than sorry in my view.
@@ernststravoblofeld Well, I'm happy for you that you've been able to do that peacefully as it sounds, and I sincerely mean that, too. Other folks, however, are not as lucky.
@@killerfrank8974 No, really. Almost everyone has the same experience. You're really no more likely to need a weapon in a city than in a rural community. There's nothing magical about cities that makes them dangerous. In fact, they are often the safest place to be, and if something bad happens, there's far more services available. Very few people I know cary any kind of weapon, and the few who do have a vivid fantasy life.

I will consider getting the umbrella. Where I live, it rains a lot and it is illegal to carry a retractable baton.
Now that is a very interesting how flexible it is with being durable in a self defense situation 👍🏻
Umbrella or walking stick are great weapons for self defense in modern times. They should be studied more seriously and more widely!
FFT is one of my favorite games! And Wiegraf one of the hardest first half bosses...never go in with a mage...
Now, if only the umbrella can block bullets, able to fire energy rounds, and enable the user to fly.

This totally kicks ass! I’d get it even if I never used it for defense. Something that doesn’t break easy.

If only they also came with a silver canopy option for deflecting sun.....
I bought this umbrella. The structure is tough but the fabric of the umbrella is thin and fragile. I have got a hole after a year of use.
So it failed to perform its primary purpose, which is to protect its user from raindrops.
Hm, very intriguing!
