Loved the vid and great to see Leicester and my village of Birstall where I lived for 59 of my 64 years. @@cruisingontheborder Hi and thanks for the reply about the Hello Fresh. Yes we are live aboard boaters like you - just into our 2nd year on board. We've just been out cruising for the last few months leaving our mooring in Dewsbury at the start of April and been up as far as Ripon, down the Ouse again and up the Derwent/Pocklington canal, back up the Ouse to Selby then on to Goole (Via River Aire and Aire/Calder canal), then up to Leeds and Liverpool canal as far as Foulridge tunnel. We're now heading back to our winter mooring in Dewsbury as our Daughter is due to give birth in August. We've loved every bit of our cruising (even all the stoppages on the L&L lol) and can't wait for next March/April to get back out again.
Wow it’s so lovely to hear where you have been, very good to know. Any tips for moorings on the way up to Ripon? We fancy that.. 😀. What great adventures you have had. Hope all goes well next year 🤞
@@cruisingontheborder it’s a lovely trip up to Ripon but I hear rumours the Ripon Canal may close soon - I hope it doesn’t, it would be a travesty. Places to moor up. It’s great at Naburn as soon as you get off the tidal Ouse (having joined the tidal Ouse at Selby) Great facilities, shower block etc and it’s only a £2 bus trip into York City Centre. We next moored at Linton lock - the pub there does great food. After that was Boroughbridge - we spent the best part of 2 weeks there. A lovely little town and all you need is there. After Boroughbridge straight up to Ripon and moored up near the basin. Ripon is a lovely little city and well worth visiting the stunning Cathedral. I’m not particularly religious but it’s a very moving experience and the crypt you can enter is the oldest part of any Cathedral in the UK - built in 672AD. Once you’ve done all that I would definitely recommend heading back down the Ouse and up the River Derwent and onto, the Pocklington Canal. Robbie Cumming said it was stunning on there and i agree- the water is so clear it’s like floating on top of an aquarium and the countryside you pass through is fabulous. They get very few visitors up there which is a real shame. People need to use it before we lose it. Have you not cruised much in God’s Country? Take care guys
Hi and a massive thanks for all your tips, we’ll certainly use your suggestions 👍👍. We’ve been to Ripon without the boat a few times and love it too 💕💕

We’ve been to Ripon without the boat a few times and love it too 💕💕
I got stuck in the same lock in Leicester. Made worse by being on my own. Eventually had to put all my weight on the lock gate with my feet up against the metal fence on the right hand side like I was Popeye after some spinach. Ridiculous it’s still broken.
Hi Stevie 👍 great to know it’s not just us that gets stuck 😆. Sadly some locks need a lot of maintenance and repair. Thanks for dropping us a comment lovely to hear your stories.
Hi guys, thanks for the video wondering if you need one of those folding roof To protected from the rain, I’ve seen some of the narrow boats Have them so when they go underneath the bridges they can fold them down I think they’re very good anyway thanks once again you look pretty good together. Good to see the love you have for each other Cliff from Logan city Queensland Australia 🇦🇺 from the big island 🏝️
Hi Cliff great comment and yes you are right we do need a floating roof. We cruised yesterday in torrential 🌧️ and could of done with it 🙄. So pleased you love our video adventures 💕💕
My dad grew up in Leister. Pretty much bombed out during WW2😮
Hi 👋 💕💕 wow it’s a small world isn’t it. So pleased you enjoyed our little look at Leicester and thank you again for your amazing support ☕️ 😀
Yet another interesting video. Are you going to come up the Leeds and Liverpool to Burscough?
Hi Robert so pleased you enjoyed Jac’s tour of Leicester. We’re planning on the Wigan flight challenge and over to Leeds we think but closures and low water are a big problem at this time of year. There is a closure on the way to Liverpool as well we’re gutted because we would love to of taken BR into Albert Dock…. Maybe next year 🤞
I will keep a watch on your postings to see when you come our way.
It looks winter there no summer is this an older vlog? Thx 👍🏻

What time of the year was this filmed? The weather doesn't look all that inviting.
Hi 👋 no the weather is bad been it’s Britain and we can have bad storms even in the middle of summer 🙄. It was a few weeks ago we’ve got lots of great video coming up to, even some good weather 😁
Uf you ar traveling around how do you get helo fresh to drop.off ar the boat?
Great question, we just work out where we will be on the network, locate a postcode/address near the canal then provide Hello Fresh with that location and the delivery vehicle turns up with our lovely order. It's perfect.
You always look nice 🌹
