Install as you just did, but when you’re screwing in the top tube to the bottom, stop threading it halfway. Tilt the top tube forward to where it will essentially be at a 85 degree angle. Then , apply the JB Weld to the threads, locking them in place.
Note: once you do this, you can no longer remove the bottom monitor mount. You’ll have to remove the bottom monitor from the mounting plate completely.

If his employee is legit uncomfortable or in pain he doesnt really have a choice. He is responsible for keeping them safe. As an extreme example if a CEO knows that people are being unsafe and doesnt pass it down the line to let everyone know that they cant do that and someone ends up getting killed the CEO could be held criminally responsible for not correcting that action. Usually it would be direct supervision in a company with multiple levels of management that would be held responsible but it could end up being multiple people above the direct supervisor held responsible too.. In this case Linus would be the direct supervision and if anything happened he'd be totally screwed.
In my line of work if supervision below me told a worker to just push through the pain that supervisor would be done immediately. If I allowed to happen and didnt fire them then it would be me and the supervisor fired.
You’ve worked for some horrible bosses I take it?
My boss wouldn't put me through agony for the job, you need a new job man.
Yes, he actually is a responsible employer, as every employer should be.
But you should know that he is legally obligated to do so, its not a virtue, its an obligation.

Regarding washers:
"Does it matter"
Yes! Washers increase the area of the clamping force. Going without a washer when one is provided is like the difference between trying to pick up a thick hardback textbook with your fingertips instead of your whole hand. Less clamping surface area = less friction to hold things statically = less clamping pressure.
Next video: my monitor fell off the stand
Could sheer the screws without washers especially with heavier weights that aren't rated for that stand :D
Also the screws are going to be fitted to the holes with the assumption the washers will be present. The VESA mount should take up the slack in this case, but putting the screws back in the holes afterward with no washers can easily lead to them poking into the electronics.
Friction has nothing to do with surface area (yes, really, google it). And if you lower the are, the clamping pressure goes up, not down. Which is why it's a problem, you'll push them right into the soft plastic before they're tight. How dumb are y'all, damn.
hanetar im talking about friction in the shear direction. Surface area has a lot to do with frictional forces. Try dragging a 500 lb cube across the floor vs rolling a 500 lb sphere made of the same material. Normal forces are the same but the amount of force that is required to overcome static friction is different depending on the amount of surface area contact between the object and the ground. That is part of what makes up the friction coefficient. The surface area of contact between each object is baked into the coefficient.
I've been using 55" monitor since 2016, and people thought I was crazy back then, and now this will become meta.
"He's just techy Michael Scott"
How could the wall say something so controversial and yet so brave?
And he also says "That's what she said!"
just watch a episode... and was like how did he know?
PS: (or she)
“He’s just techy Micheal Scott” I laughed.

"So, what do you do for a living?"
Uh, I design nipples. For monitors.
I'm sure it's a limitation of the stand; but I'm curious as to if you could flip the upper monitor over, so the bezel between the monitors is that much smaller.

2 32:9 monitors stacked vertically make it effectively 32:18 or 16:9. You basically made a tv lmao
*he made a 5k tv.
Discord: _exists._
Linus Tech Tips: _Uses Microsoft Teams chat._
To be fair - they're using Teams for their corporate environment which is what Teams is designed for. Discord was made for regular consumer use and doesn't have features that are required for corporate environments (password strength enforcement, 2-factor auth, user auditing, 99.99% SLA, etc.)
@@iN00bT00ber True. You'd think Discord would lock down that market -- they already have the perfect setup for it.
The new Microsoft PowerToys (on Github) destroys the LG Tool for zoning applications. You can create custom sized zones, overlapped zones, and even use hot keys to activate them. By comparison the LG app is rigid and buggy AF. Aside from limited options, it flat out refuses to even open if you have duplicate display enabled on any output. It doesn’t matter if your trying to duplicate the LG display, or an entirely unrelated secondary display (it makes no sense!!!), it just fails.
TheQuark6789m Good point. I figured that was implied. Microsoft’s PowerToys was a huge hit in the 90s. Most advance/power users would use it at least to some degree.
