#ThisMorning
It's so nice that both John Cleese and Paul Nicholas are having this success. They are part of a wonderful generation of entertainers and should be treasured. I wish them well.
Paul Nicholas was terrible an past it, the only actor of the play that failed to grasp their character, never in the same league as John Cleese.
My mother and I flew over from the US to see the show.. and it was so worth it!! They did a phenomenal job!
LOVED Fawlty Towers!!!!
Don next week Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday
Incredible show, can’t wait to come again

Can't believe thats Paul Nicolas.
Nor me. Unmistakable voice, but a big shock.
Same here,everyone ages but wow.😮
Oh my the Penny's just dropped that's that fella from just good friends
The original F T was the only tv show i ever watched again immediately after just watching it...... A truly legendary series.👍✌️🇬🇧
This Morning is made in TC3 at Television Centre where some of the episode of Fawlty Towers were made.
Saw this at the weekend, quicker hour and a half of my life, brilliant and well executed. 👏🏻👏🏻
Gosh didn't recognise Paul Nicholas had a huge crush on him, feeling my age, imo. 🇬🇧👵😅
Yes, a real shock.
PAUL NICHOLAS still young man voice, never changed,,All amazing definitely hope to see Iconic show 😂❤ wonderful 3 actors!! And rest of fabulous cast 😊
I did a double take,,,,not thee Paul Nicholas ? Yes it is thee Paul Nicholas ,,,,,wow.
My partner and loved it laugh out loud all the way from beginning to end 😊
Amazing longevity and popularity for a show that only lasted 12 episodes.
I was looking up a favorite part of FT and discovered this in the process.
Thank you for posting!
It's a great show, GO SEE IT
Seeing this brings back memories of happier times. Legends....❤❤❤
John without his mustache is really weird. I LOVE fawlty towers it's so funny.
He hasn’t had a moustache for 30 years
@@Robc--jd6yh I've seen him with a mustache on and off in the last 30 years.
The show's clearly in trouble needing to remind people it's still there.
How is it in trouble, it's loved an adored all over the UK, along with fools an horses it's the top 2 best uk sitcoms ever, legendary, an this play is a tribute to it that was meant to Finnish in September but been extended to January as such a success.
I saw Paul Nicholas in Blondel. He was fantastic.
ITS THE NARRATOR OF THE WINNIE THE POOH 2011 MOVIE
Wow John Cleese is old now , I hope he takes good care of his health, he is the funniest man that ever came out of Britain.
Wasn't Paul Nicholas Cousin Kevin in the movie "Tommy"?
Yes. He was also the first Jesus in J.C. Superstar.
❤
I wana know where they found the same wardrobe, Ive always wanted a cardigan like that
I only recognised paul Nicholas from his voice
Archaeology.
Is that Ned Flanders in the green cardigan?
Basil Fawlty was rocking a green cardigan before Ned Flanders was a doodley - oodle on Matt Groening's napkin. Get a clue.
@@steventhomas2856 I know! Was jesting!
That’s a good one
Bet they don't do the major talking about going to the cricket . And probably not the germans . Nice that they introduced the rest of the cast.
Yes, they do !
@Muswell do they ? Word for word ? I don't think so. The germans maybe but not the major taking his date to India
This aged badly.
FT was made early 1970's I wonder if this stage show has gone all PC now because if it has then it's a no no......cos the un PC stuff was priceless ie The Germans amongst many.
I’m told it wasn’t PC
remove THAT person from asking questions and il come back 😁😁
Which one? They both love the sound of their own voice.
🤣🤣
The things that made the original Fawlty Towers so good is that they quit while they were ahead. They didn’t try to flog a dead horse. Now Cleese’s ego won’t let him quit. So sad.
Cleese had def not missed any meals. He's tempting fate with that belly.
84 years old, I would say many men do not even see 84 years old, so he is doing just fine and even better to have meat on you if fall badly ill.
No, don't do it . Leave Fawlty Towers alone. 😢
Seems to be getting good reviews. Would you deny people the chance to enjoy it, just because YOU don’t want it ??
It’s very good.
No thanks, just watch the the originals
awesome ax
Benny Hill considered funnier than Monty Python by two TV stations --WOR and WLVI!
I enjoy BOTH, but like Python more.
Will never, never, never, never, never, never live up to the original BBC 70s TV series. As long as ppl enjoy it, then thats great. But as a fan of arguably the greatest sitcom ever made, I wouldn't be able to give this air time, as for me, it would pale into insignificance.
I totally agree 100 percent with you.
Could u not separate the two. As a fawlty die hard myself, Your right nothing can compare to the the TV series but it's a tribute to it, I've seen the play, the actors are fantastic, Mrs Richards an Mr Hutchinson aswell, both superb, the only actor that failed to grasp the character an was poor was Paul Nicholas as the major.
@@Andrew-dc5ub Sorry I typed a load to you, but fking UA-cam threw me out so not going to write it all again. Basically though. I would give him and his daughters new series a look as well as this, if it was on tv, just for interest sake. But no way would I go to somwhere to watch it.
@@gaskellr44 ah sorry they did that, it is frustrating when you've written something, it's funny I'm more reserved about the new forthcoming TV series than the play as that's very different without the other characters joining basil, I almost wish it wasn't happening an fawlty not be tainted with a poor ending like has happened to other sitcoms, whereas u have 12 gems of eposodes at the moment
@@Andrew-dc5ub I see where you and quite a few others are coming from with this tainted idea, But I don't and won't be affectd by what the forth coming tv series like, as I will know it is totally seperate from the original two series. Different characters other than B F, who is now, as we know, an Octaganarian, so will not have the same fierce and paranoid energy as the character back in the day, and with so many of the great ensemble cast missing, has to be looked at as a totally different show. With John Cleese though being one of the main writers of this new show, I actually expect it to be ok, and probably not do a disservice to the brilliant original show. I think it will be a different take on his character, and actually, it might be that his daughters character could be the protagonist or antagonist, we wont know yet, of the new show, rather than Mr Fawlty himself. Yes, as I do comments on my PC through the notification part. If a new notification comes up, while I am creating a message. When I click it away by pressing the cross bit of it on the top right, like with most notifications, when you want to rid them. That process unfortunately, closes my writing bit, and I have lost all that I have written, so it's definitely a glitch that they need to sort, and I have done this before, but what I do do, is what Iv'e done with this message, and made sure, when Iv'e wrote quite a bit, I copy (contrl C) it, so I wont lose too much if the same happens, quite rare that it does though, but annoying.
Will never be a funny as the original or as good. Why even bother remaking one of the funniest comedies ever.
Because it's been a huge commercial and critical success and it's got major feelgood appeal to fans old and new?
Maybe?
Perhaps because people want to see a live performance of the greatest comedy written an performed, it's a superb show, I've seen it at the apollo.
Cleese is the guy who always comes back. Can't stand England I'm going to America. Always blames his wives for taking him for a ride. Take note he's back again.

Benny Hill being considered funny by anyone is a mystery to me 😜
