    NOTE: I accidentally left out the bottle-opener feature. It's very thin. Not the most useful, and rests against the scissors. Also forgot the wire crimper below the pliers head. Intentionally left out a couple of others due to being poorly executed, in my humble opinion. Notably the ruler, along with the protractor features.
    Finish: Available in standard (Stone wash), and Black.
    Open Length: 5 inches.
    Closed Length: 3 1/4 inches.
    Weight: 4.2 ounces.
    Blade Steel: 5Cr15MoV stainless steel.
    Blade Length: 2 inches each, for both blades.
    Price ~ $49.95 MSRP.
    (Usually sold for that price. Though some places sell it for over $60.oo)
    Made in China.

    Umm.. you have to open the handles to put in the bits...

    • @NGMonocrom
      @NGMonocrom  2 роки тому +1

      Yup, tried that off-camera before trying to insert the standard bits. Still didn't fit. Thought I had recorded that during the video, but apparently missed it along with the very thin bottle-opener feature. Still, standard bits don't fit.

      @@NGMonocrom maybe yours is a dud. With mine I don't have that problem. I would contact their customer service for that

      @@NGMonocrom Yeah, I agree with the other poster - it sounds like there might be something wrong with yours if standard bits don't fit.
      You have to open the handles just a little, and the bit should slide in easily.

      @@dissy5563 yeah, even with the locking mechanism. you just press down on the black plastic on the inside of the handles to unlock tools. no need to open another tool

    Open the handles slightly, then insert bit, then close handles to increase pressure on the bit.

      Yes, I know how it's supposed to be done. Tried it, didn't work.

      Okay, was confused as this was not shown in the video to open the handles slightly. Strange that it worked when I tried it. Ended up returning it and getting a Leatherman. Thanks for showing your experience!

    The lock release is on the back side of the blades. Close it halfway and you will see a lock somewhat like the Leatherman 300. Press it where the finger grooves are. My tool is silver and the lock is black so it stands out but pulling up the other blades to unlock it is easier. I know there is a bit driver at the end, but why there is no normal size flat head makes no sense...yep, you are saying this now. Btw, open the handles and put in the bit, they clamp and hold it. And, what the hell are the tool ends on the can opener and bottle opener? That makes no sense either. I just got mine today, used...might as well keep it but what a swing and a miss for what could have been. I think the companies do it to keep you needing just one more. My Victorinox Deluxe Tinker with writing pen scales stays my edc multi tool champ.

      Unfortunately even partially opening the handles.... The standard size bits don't fit. It's possible I got a defective one. But not really likely. Glad to hear you enjoyed the video.

      Yay, I found the protractor with a magnifying glass lol. Also thought I would mention for readers that the bit driver is at the end of the tool. My friend just thought they went in the side like a socket and couldn't find it. Once the handles are open even a little bit it disappears.

    I just ordered this today, where I'm at the silver was cheaper and black was almost double the price.
    You think gun bluing (metal blackening) will work?

    • @NGMonocrom
      @NGMonocrom  2 роки тому +2

      Not sure. Likely will on the handles. But the individual tools themselves might be a different issue.

    Thanks for the video. Good point! The large/medium flathead is pretty clutch sometimes! What an odd oversight by Sog! You could probably grind the rescue hook into a package opener pretty easily. Make a video of it if you do! Leatherman really needs to make a tool this size with a proper pair of needlenose on it like this Powerpint has! The Powerpint is an attractive form factor for me as I conceal a firearm, carry a knife (Benchmade Claymore = awesome and no multitool can replace it!), flashlight, and a multitool on top of the usual things like keys/wallet/phone; the multitool to me, like you describe it, is not meant for serious work as I have dedicated tools for that. This just saves a trip to the garage/truck sometimes in a pinch.
    Anyhow, my favorite multitool to date is the Leatherman Wingman. I wish it was the same size/weight as the Powerpint though, but I'll take the build quality over the extra ounce or two of weight until someone improves a Powerpint size tool! Multitools are pliers with extras! If you look at them this way the mediocre tools on the inside are not as annoying. Still should have a heavier flathead driver though! I honestly like all of the tools on the Wingman; the file is not great but I consider it more of a small flathead driver instead and it gets me over it! The Powerpint seems like I would hate a few of the tools in it.
    liked/subscribed!

      Thank you. Happy to see you enjoyed the video. I EDC most of the same types of gear you do. The Wingman is really underrated. I'll be honest, I also wish Leatherman made a version of the Powerpint too, but with a couple of changes. More useful, and better build quality M.T. Welcome aboard.

    Outrageous that you would misrepresent this multitool’s ability to accept & hold 1/4” hex bits. Your review gets a 👎from me.

    • @NGMonocrom
      @NGMonocrom  10 місяців тому +1

      I misrepresented nothing. I showed in the video that it can't accept/hold 1/4-inch hex bits. Literally showed it. It's one thing to not believe what someone says about a piece of gear. But apparently you refuse to believe your own eyes! I guess they're lying to you too. How unfortunate.
      Honestly, I think you'd be happier watching reviews from numerous shills on UA-cam who will tell you, and their other viewers sweet, sweet lies. Thus making you feel better regarding your purchase. I don't lie to my viewers. But not everyone can handle the truth. Fair enough. Feel free to leave my channel and never return. Not going to ask you to stay. A thumbs-down from someone like you is the best compliment I could receive. Thank you.
