    it seems very time consuming to make a wig strand by strand like you do, but this is an amazing video and very informative!

      +Portable Konfidence I usually don't make it in full high definition single strand single knot, I can make it like this but the price is going to be sky rocket, it is all about the time it takes that affects the money,
      For example if one unit takes as much time as three units to be made because it is in full high definition, then the price is going to be like three units!
      I give options to my customers and their prices, if they are willing to pay an HD piece, then I'll make it

    Ok so maybe I'm a little slow. I understood the video in terms of the spacing and still having the same density.... So with the example you gave, all four sections would be 100% density even though there is more space in between each knot because you're still using 100 stands? And if so, if I wanted it to be 80% I would have to ventilate only 80 stands of hair per square unit? And say I wanted it to be 120% I would add 20 more strands of hair?.... I hope I don't sound stupid. Again this is using 100 stands of hair per square unit? Also I understand that the number doubles because of the return hair. So technically 100 stands equates to 200 strands.

    Very educational - I enjoyed your attention to detail however I wanted to mention you said that the human hair follicle only has one hair per follicle but that is actually not true. Each hair follicle has 1-4 hairs in it and usually the ones around the hairline have only one hair and the ones in the back of the head by the occipital bone have 3 and 4 hairs. Also a one hair follicle hair is always a softer finer hair. Just wanted to mention it, thanks for the video.

      +Jeanine Acca The truth is that some hair roots are so closely grouped with others that the hair might come out of very close (or rarely the same) skin pore.
      They are like flower roots they might sprout more than one bodies of flowers.
      Even when they are more grouped they still lack a knot which is even roe obvious in the wig with many strands per knot and also they totally come out of the same spot unlike the grouped human hair that are at least separated by a fraction of a millimeter.
      Also in wig making the minimum amount of hair per knot is one, but that actually created two strands coming out of the knot since the hair is folded as I explained in the video.
      We are trying to emulate the quality as good as possible :P

    Thanks so much for sharing your information in details. You are very generous! I would like to make one for myself using my daughter’s hairs (I loss a lot of my hairs during the cancer treatment). Do you have the instruction for making a cap and how to frame a cap to “something” before starting to ventilate? Again, your information is greatly appreciated.

      Thank you girl, this is something that only a skilled person would notice so the average wig maker would have a problem finding out the mistake in the density.
      I am just too picky when I make things so I figured this out early!

    When you see wigs stating 180% and 250% density is that an accurate representation of the density of the wig? I would expect 250% to be very thick but many say sometimes it is thinner than the 180%.

  • @marilynzanca7712
    @marilynzanca7712 5 років тому

    hi I wanted a thick density but your saying if you put too much hair its looks fake. when I first got my topper from uniwigs it was 180%. but when I went to order a new topper from them at 150% it didn't have much hair so I sent it back for refund. And I decided to make my own. I really like your video. I have bought nearly all the things that I need to make my own. but I was hoping to make a thick density top piece and then sow some rows around after it was the silk top is made like the common wig. I just wanted to make it like the first one I received.

    09:08 - You have answered a question - a thing that has always bugged me. When I see hair venting I always see one hair coming from the knot. To me, that didn't make sense. Because if you are tying a knot in something you end up with two ends. I asked another person on here what does he do with the second hair strand of the knot, an he says he cuts it off. So here I see you have two hairs from the knot.

    • @SuperWigMaker
      @SuperWigMaker  8 років тому +8

      +Ryan Torks Cutting it too short can create problems, I have another video on how to make the hair returns look natural without scrambling the base.
      The only way to totally have it invisible is with a silk top where you pull the hair tail on the normal side of the silk fabric while you keep the lace, the knot and the short return to the in side of the unit hidden from the view of outside.

    hi how many holes do i skip for 50-60 density for a 4x4 closure?

    • @SuperWigMaker
      @SuperWigMaker  9 років тому +2

      +Allison alleyne Well when I make a 100% density (medium normal density)I usually put 2 holes and leave one whole blank but that is with normal thickness strands, if the hair is too fine I will ventilate all holes, if the hair is too thick I might do half the holes.
      So make the math, 1 holes ventilated 2 holes left vacant, it should make a 50% density, if you want to be safer you can do 1 hole ventilated, 1 hole vacant and then 1 hole ventilated and 2 holes vacant and so on.
      But it also has to do with what lace you use, usually the lace that I have has like 9 holes per cm, that also matters.

      Wow thank you for responding!! Very informative , im using Swiss Lace but i have to do the measurements of the holes. For a 14 inch long wig, what density should I use to make it look like your low density wigs thar look super realistic.. should I do like 80 percent density? I want to be able to part it easily an have it be thinner an straighter an less bulky to where it can easily be put behind my ears without bulk an put in high ponytail with ease an have the parting space wider to where I can part it anywhere an do pigtails..I don't care if it's thin, I don't want it thick an bulky n wiggish looking so an I agree with you 💯 % the thicker the density the wig looks very fake an not realistic.. so I'd love your opinion on your lower density wigs, which density you use.. 80% or lower 60%? Thanks hope to here from you soon Super wig maker

    Which of these 4 would you suggest for a frontal that wig be two strand twisted for the most natural looking hair line and parting?

    • @SuperWigMaker
      @SuperWigMaker  6 років тому +5

      Back and lower sides of wigs where the hair will never be parted = 4 strand or more can do.
      Top of the wig 2 strand or 1 strand, 2 for speed, 1 for the extra HD results.
      Hairline (and maybe the neckline) 1 strand always for about 2cm ( alittle less than 1 inch)

      +Elizabeth Nganga Hey I live in Greece thus giving courses myself is not an option.
      I also do not know anyone giving lessons in the UK, but I am sure Hugo Royer offers some classes personally, they will take you to their crafting area and will show you and explain and you probably can ask them whatever you want. I am sure it is with a fee obviously.
