U have to take into account the fact that he was pioneering n innovating a art as old as civilization at that time. No, I don't worship Bruce Lee, but I know he was a true fighter who had challenge matches, won boxing competitions, taught people like Dan Inosanto who trained Paul Vunak who himself taught the Navy Seals. He was also the first person to popularise cross training and had amazing speed, power, timing and technique.

Bruce Lee started out as a Wing-Chun practitioner but later on he realize that Wing-Chun and Kung-Fu suck so he invented Jeet Kun Do which is like MMA in that you do whatever it takes to win a fight and you use every possible technique, and even when you're trap in a submission you use your mouth and bite also

Hello Dopey it is me again,the mma champs are also big fans of bruce,kickboxing champs and boxing champs to.Mike Tyson says just recently :Bruce Lee is a Killer.Jackie Chan (who was in Fist of Fury stuntdouble mr Suzuki ,took Bruces sidekick and he also was in Enter the Dragon where he got really hitted by Bruce with sticks) says Mohammed Ali or Mike Tyson I can see,Bruce I really could not ,he was so fast.

I would love for Haku/Meng of Wrestling to comment on Bruce Lee. Meng/Haku is another beast when it comes to street fighting. Haku bit off someone's nose and dug out someone's eye in different fights. He broke the Japanese karate champion's jaw with one slap to the face. He threw a NFL lineman through two doors with one arm push. Someone needs to interview Haku about Bruce Lee.

Well obviously Bruce isn't 'octagon material'. He's barely human.
And this isn't true either. Silva has great stand up, but he has good ground game too. No he isn't a wrestler, but he is very good at brazzilian(sp?) jujitsu. The few times we've seen him have to use it, he has showed he is very good at it.

Sonnen actualy Did back it up though. He beat silvas ass for 5 rounds, and got caught in a triangle at the end. Yea, he lost, but that proves that he Is capable of beating him.

Is Bruce Lee UFC material? We will never know. But one thing for sure, he has the philosophy right alright.
most definately, I say this because I've actually done the research. reading his book and watching his movies and looking for those scenes where he intercepts his opponents. His water like movement and expert timing and quick mind will see through any ufc fighter because they use "styles" pre rehearsed limited movements that he discovered the flaws to. no ufc fighter can match up.

Kit Lam. there is not evidence that Bruce was a street fighter other than some kid fights. We know the one fight he had with Wong Jack Man made him completely rethink his approach to Martial Arts. People admire Bruce not because he was a fighter. Mike Tyson never met Bruce nor saw him fight, not sure why that relevant. I have met Bruce's students and they arent fighters either, not sure how thats relevant either.Proven fighters fight others of known skills, its amazing that you dont seem to understand this simple facts.

I Trained with Inosanto and Bustillo and they are great teachers but nobody has ever claimed they are fighters. Are you really this stupid or just trolling? You dont seem to be aware of any basic facts and my own fighting ability isnt even relevant to the discussion.

@baddamanben09 I've traing muay thai for over 6 years and jiu jitsu for 4 years freestyle wrestling for the past year and mma for the past two years. So your opinion doesnt count to me. Alot of ufc/mma fighters get thier black belt in jiu jitsu when they dont deserve it and thats for marketing purposes and to intimidate their opponents, the nog bros are legit black belts but silva is not neither is rashad evans neither is gsp. bjpenn, nick diaz, damian mia these guys are black belts.

Yip only teaches wing chun, yet bruce expands & improve what he has learned (boxing, etc), combining various martial arts creating jwet kune do or what he called "the way of the intercepting fist", when one manages to intercept opponent punch mid-attack, there is no doubt without bruce, no one even knew yip
