Hello Mark yes sir super cool car. What a fine deal made on that car 25 years ago. Dale is super happy with it after all this time cool story thanks for your comments being on my UA-cam channel. Thank you.👍😎
My 1st car in 1981 was a 70 HEMI Roadrunner automatic. RM23N car. It no longer had the HEMI, there was stout 383 under the hood, I was only 16 and never thought about a full restoration because I was young and stupid, didn't realize the car was special. It had all the correct HEMI codes, I even found the build sheet under the back seat. In April of 1982, I got into a drag race with a 71 type Sj 455 Pontiac Grand Prix, lost control, and hit the back end of a dump truck, taking a real HEMI car out of the 50 some automatic Roadrunners built in 70. I have never forgiven myself for that damned race... After I hit the dump truck, the Grand Prix floored it and drove around the wreck, south bound on Milwaukee's lakefront. Still hits me in the gut, right to this day, even as I write this. That roadrunner could have been my car of a lifetime. I'm a retired Union blacksmith, and I would just be starting to enjoy the car in my retirement. DAMN.
Hello Paul wow I really like your story. I’m so sorry hear about the car but you were OK. That’s the main thing. It’s sad to lose a hemi roadrunner, but it’s a great story and a great tale. You can tell for many years from now of course you out ran that Pontiac didn’t you? Thanks for being on my UA-cam channel please subscribe thanks😎✌️
I was wondering if they would mention the missing trim piece on the front hood lip. Was that something they added after the pilot car was built, of did they just not have one when the car was restored?
the hood never had the screw holes in it so it never had one and old pictures of the car show it never had it. It has other oddities on the hood also. We debated whether to put it on or not and I can always adhesive install it. Good question
Hello Dale, who better than to tell the story but the owner of the car thank you so much for that. I’m behind getting back to all these comments from the show. I’m so excited your video did very well and it’s showing by the numbers. Great story you did a great job. I’m so proud to have you on my UA-cam channel. Thank you so much for that new Mopar brother 😎✌️
Another video, the contributor commented it needed the dust trail stipe. My first car was a 70 roadrunner (1975) I loved that model. I NEVER saw one with a dust trail or rear spoiler. They just weren’t a common option. People enjoy putting non factory stripes and spoilers on their cars that gives a false impression. Same for the blackout on 70 a challenger. Never saw one back in the day.
Hello, thanks for your comments and memories of your 1970 roadrunner I did like that factory stripe on the 70 it kind of broke up the color looked pretty cool each to your own though thanks for the memories of your Mopar and thank you for being on my UA-cam channel please subscribe 👍😎
Amazing find! Restored beautifully and every teenager's dream, spec'ed to catch the racers eye back in the day!

I would like to see more of the El Camino in the background

I'm really very keen on Chrysler cars mainly, but that red Shelby Mustang in the background also got my attention.
Hello Barry, yes sir I think I got that car in one video out to see if I can find it. Thanks for your continued support.😎✌️
