Love America haha slip bobber. Does what it says on the tin.
Love the series. Pomp gets my vote for next up!
You should make a video using night crawlers as bait. Sheepshead and mangroves eat them. They are a hell of a lot cheaper than live shrimp.
I hear ya. I went out on my boat off Galveston. Using just a freshwater bobbin/float, egg lead and worm. Caught flounder, trout and sheeps. My cousin using shrimp. We caught about the same. I gotta admit it surprised me. I dont know why more of us dont try them. I will use them again. Maybe in warm weather off the beach.
Im glad your doing some sponsors dude. You been in the game for a minute and its good to see you cashing in. I feel like you need to do some merch, sponsors and all that lol.
You should be on that Jon B level for real!
Happened to get in to a mess of Mangroves at the dock in POC one day. One of the best tasting fish we have on the coast in Texas, IMO. Great content Coop, as usual!
Sweet, it's been a good year for mangroves!
Hey Coop, Bugs here
I'm digging the new effects on the videos. Top notch and well done! This is better than anything I watch on the TV.
I've always heard everyone talking up the Mangrove Snapper. And I've caught, kept, eaten my share (cue the mojarra as bait video). There are times when I've eaten them and thought they're not that great. But you basically figured it out. Don't eat the blood line, cook them fresh, and keep it simple. Lets Go!
Yes sir you're the mangrove man.
Awesome video! Little snapper like that are perfect for frying whole. Well seasoned and breaded, with some lime juice on top… folks in the Caribbean are all about those!
Your videos are so entertaining! I love all your extras you do to keep us watching! Keep up the great content.
Great video Coop. Caught a ton of "Grovers" in Florida...but thats the 1st time Ive heard of that nickname. Gonna steal it....
Loving this catch and cook tier list series
Tearing up those Sheepers & Groves! Yeah, boy!
Your fishing skills are truly remarkable!
Whoooa! I thought nothing would top a sheepshead, but I've never had mangrove. I'll try it now...Great uploads.
I mainly fish False Bay here in South Africa.
A Japanese tourist once showed me the ikijime method of dispatching fish and explained the effect it has on quality and taste.
I experimented a few times myself and eventually came to the conclusion that it makes a HUGE difference.
I've been doing it to all catches I plan to keep ever since.
I highly recommend you guys try it out yourselves.
lets goo!! more content from the 🐐
😂 hell yeah man always great videos.
Hey, I’ve seen a lot of videos about how great Pompano 🐟 are. How about doing an unseasoned on that fish?
Good job. Slip bobber very versatile.
Great vid! love this series. Definitely try Another Redfish, and next round you gotta Pomp Pomp Pomp It Up with Pompano!!!
I think I have to try another red for sure!
Dude your videos are awesome. Love them. Keep them coming brother 😊
You spoiling us Coop, thanks and Happy New Year bro
I’m here for the studio session sound effects 😂
We need to see how Tripletail lines up! I have yet to catch one to give them a try but ive heard they are delicious
The 🐐 with another great video!
Excellent Video. Happy New Year Coop.
I'm so glad I felt like I got a shout out from coop!
Well you were right! Thanks for the comments brother.
Throwing in the rdr2 house building song. Awesome video.
nicely done sir
Hey Coop! Nice Video. I hate that we can’t use treble hooks down here in Florida. You should try some of those flat boys, Spanish mackerel, or pompano unseasoned. I would like to see where you put these fish in that tier list. 🐟🐟🐟
Hahaha wtf, that nuke stuff had me cracking up.
Oh pompano is a definite next to compete with the mangrove
My boy Thresher is going wild with content keep it coming!!!
🎣🦐🍽🍺🐟 🔪It's Sheeper to Keeper Cooper...I'm ancient and not one of your regs yet, but when you gonna do the Doormat Filet Mignon of fish the Flat Fish Flounder Filet...easy for you to say...or maybe a blacktipper?
ahhh nah that gta location switch was fire🔥
Hi Mr Fishing, thanks for the awesome fishing. We were watching you cook fish with canola oil.Suggest you try cooking with olive oil also good with salads.
Farmers have done a great job with advertising encouraging us to believe canola oil is somehow good for us,it is not, same with grains it is all sucessful advertising.
A Happy New Year to all.
Pampano or piggy perch test. After being in the philippines for a year I prefer to not filet the smaller fish. Just clean them, salt them, and fry them in the skillet. Don't waste any meat that way. Also get some soy sauce, lime, and hot pepper mixed together for dipping. White rice on the side. Can't beat it. I never thought I would like small fish because it seems pointless but it's super popular in the philippines. Small being like the size of an average piggy perch. Get about 5 of those and just clean, salt, and fry. And of course scale them if needed. Just use your fingers and peel the meat off from the backbone down so you don't get stuck lol. Not sure how the smaller variety fish in Corpus will taste like this but I'm moving there next month and am going to try them out.
Flounder is surely A if not S tier
What software do you use to edit and what’s that animation called at 8:35? That’s so cool.
I’m from Washington but my parents live near Lake Jackson. You should try doing a taste test on Flounder!
I kinda find that fish normally taste a bit like what they eat. So you get a crab/prawn/crustacean eater i think their flesh tastes sweeter.
Alright Coop, it only seems fair to get a flatty up on the list. And possibly even red snapper (one of my favorite sushi dishes)
I love how he did the GTA travel🤣 I knew something was off after 2012🤦🏼♂️
Someone got it! The music from the sponsor is also from RDR2
Lol, yeah, it caught me off guard. I've been doing another playthrough of GTAV and the transition sound and map zoom made me do a double take, haha
Pompano deserves a high spot on this list
Pompano and flounder!
What kind of Jetty cleats are you rocking?
Another solid video. Mangroves and Sheeps both delicious!
this fish species isnt here, but my favorite fish that is absolutely great even unseasoned, is Atlantic Mackerel. Not only are they super healthy for you because they have more oil in them than salmon alone, but they are super flavorful because of that as well. they are fishy smelling from their blood, and when you first catch them, but just grilling them or sticking them in the oven cooking them halfway and finish them off with the broiler, they are some of the best fish you can ever eat and its one of the reasons why its one of the top fish in the world eaten. people who live on the east coast are lucky because they are present there, all they have to do is use a sabiki rig and you will catch loads of them. for me i just buy em frozen whole at the store. still great. edit: the last time i put a stringer of fish between the jettie rocks, when i pulled it up at the end of the day, i only had half of the fish. Those Crabs are Theifs!!!!!!
Yeah my fish have got eaten up in those jetty rocks by crab before hahah
@@ThresherFishing Catch a Lizard Fish if you can. i promise you its up in the A Tier or S tier. i been able to catch them around the port A ferries right side. their meat is white!
Now THAT is something I have NEVER heard before! 😮! If i ever catch a big enough one, I will gice them a try! Tnks!@@Lockdown22
How have you not added flounder to this? You got the trout and red but you need to complete the Texas trio.
I’m at the two polar opposites of what to try next:
Flat boy!
Hardy boy!! 👀
Nice man👏🏻
Flounder brotha it’s gonna be up there
Black drum are tasty fish to catch and cook
Black Drum, way better than redfish! One of my favorite! Good video.
Disagree!
@@PrestonBozeman I feel like fried I like black drum much more. But reds a better fish to blacken or anyway else besides fried. But that’s my opinion
I could see that
I would agree. Black drum over redfish for sure as long as its lower slot.
Really hope you brought that cooler piece to a trash can. I never thought you'd throw that shit like that, so I hope so.
Yeah, I noticed that as well. Not good optics for sure. Disappointed that your comment didn’t get a reply. 🙁🙁🤔🤔😡😡
Flounder can compete with mangrove lets go nxt video!!!
This is a bold little series. Most unseasoned or lightly seasoned fish is rather bland. I absolutely love fish but bread and fry them all. My saltwater fish experience is on the OBX so mangroves were never an option. Never had kingfish either but had plenty of Spanish and they're wonderful. I feel pompano would do really well ranking wise.
I'm a weird one though, I don't care for Salmon, Tuna, or Wahoo.. even Mahi isn't that great to much but much better than the three I listed. Big time stigma around bluefish and if I catch a smaller bluefish like under 18 inches and properly bleed and ice it then eat it fresh... it's absolutely delicious.
As for rankings for me? Pompano, Sheepshead, and Whiting are A tier. As for B tier I'd say Spanish, Sea trout, red drum, bluefish.. but they're very strong B tier.
Freshwater wise it's Walleye, Perch, Crappie, Bluegill, Channel Catfish, Pickerel all A tier for me. Northern Pike and trout in general fall to B but I will note I have not eaten a Pike in well over a decade and I don't think i've had a properly seasoned/breaded Pike. And trout are a seasonal thing here in Pennsylvania. Trout season kicks off in early April and the water is loaded with millions of hatchery fish I wouldn't feed to my dog. But give those few survivors half a year in cold clean water eating natural food.. November to February is cold tough fishing but the quality of fish is much higher. For the most part, they're the same stocked fish. They just have 6-10 months of living in cooler, cleaner water, eating natural food instead of pellets and it shows. The meat turns from pale and mushy to firm and orange and it truly is delicious. One of the best fish I've ever eaten was a 20 inch brown from a local reservoir that's in the mountains and 100+ feet in depth. Water quality has a major impact on freshwater fish as they really can't just relocate somewhere else.
Flounder next! Probably the only other contender for S tier
Red Tail Surf Perch in the PNW is super tasty but is about as mushy as instant Mashed Potatos. How was that Mangrove texture?
Tie a knot without sinching down in your stringer a foot or two from the float, it keeps the fish alive longer. They’re not forced up against the float and can still swim, helps the fish especially when wading with lots of current
That's a good idea!
OMG!
Did you just litter?
You should try flounder
Is Brownsville Texas named after the Brown Shrimp
Shark or Gar next.
Hmm interesting
Flounder and pomp
Next Flounder or Black Drum (just above min limit not too big) uuuh🤷♂😯🙌
Flounder !
Try the flat boy next to the mangrove
So like the vid for sure. Thinking you might want to eat only lil guys cause that may be why the mangroves are so good they were babies. Younger always means less fishy and more tender.
That is something you hear often! Could be testable.
Once summer comes around. You should fish and try for alligator gar! Taste like chicken
Do a flounder video
Try flounder 👍
Try an oyster toadfish
Can we get a link for that stringer?
It’s a h2ox stringer from academy
Pompano challenge with Mangrove!
Gotta go for some pomps
Love your videos/content/ format …Question: are Mangrove Snappers invasive or introduced???? Much respect!
To the best of my knowledge, they are native.
Go deep! RED snapper or Mahi Mahi great vid keep it up 🎉🎉
In south Florida we call em grovers when there 8-10lb+.
You got to do Flounder!!!!! Gonna be S
Mangrove fish 🌮 are the shizzle
Can't believe you just throw your trash wherever the closest piece of ground.
Saw that too. Poor form for sure. Hope he picked it up.
You should do sand trout and pompano
you should try mullet or pin fish lol
Is the trick using a wide gap hook?
Use a very small circle hook and just reel the line in fast don’t set the hook , or use a size 1 octopus
Great video but are lobsters the lobsters of the sea?
Do lizard fish and gafftop
You should try mullet
Try a gaftop
New to the channel curious to know where is that jetty? From El Paso looking to go jetty fishing and don’t v want to go to Cali🤣 fk Cali
Gaftop and hardhead comparison!!!!!!!!!
I bet a Gaftop would make the A list.
How about sand trout?
Let's Goooooo, good eats
🤙
Time for a flounder
Flounder
FLOUNDER next
Try it cooked while you would get more flavor with the skin and bone.
Pompano all day long buddy. Ask Nick Meyer
Pompano !!
Where’s this at in florida???
I'm in Texas.
Pompano!
You got your money worth with that bait bucket
