Lamar is just something else. He's always been an exceptional runner and his throwing has really improved a lot, especially when you look at the variety of ways he can get guys the ball but he always seems so calm, even when he's getting rushed, it's like he knows he's gonna make a guy miss. Dude is unreal, I hope he keeps this up or continues to play close to this level his whole career because he is so fun to watch.

Since our Super Bowl victory in 2013, I’ve missed seeing Baltimore do this much damage. This second season with Lamar has been absolutely magical. I love seeing our guys so hyped and aggressive. I hope this continues and we can take it all once again.
I'm a Dolphins fan but I've always had a soft spot for the Ravens because of the Ray Lewis-Ed Reed-Terrell Suggs defenses they used to have, it's awesome seeing the Ravens being this good on the offensive side of the ball. I'd hate to think how good this team would have been if they had this offense to go along with those defensive units. Lamar's kind of saved me this season because he's made another team really fun to watch, so I've had a way of drowning my sorrows because of the Dolphins' ability to waste players and just generally be terrible.
Matt Norris Never really thought about how the ravens would be with that old defense. Would’ve been unreal. Hang in there with the Dolphins man. Im a huge fan of Fitzpatrick, even though a lot of dolphin fans I know don’t like him, they can still pull off plenty of upsets. Once they find that right groove it will be fun to watch them as well.
I like how before the endzone was a hard place to throw in, because the field is smaller and WRs, TEs, RBs, and FBs have very little room, but Lamar throws TDs in the redzone a lot, it's all of a sudden "An easy place to throw"

Lamar was not passed up in the draft because he was black (LOL), the assessment of his play with the information analysts/teams had at specific times was fair. He has just had a spike in play like no other. They started 2-2, Lamar stunk for the first 3 quarters of last years playoffs.

I’m 13 and I wanna play football next year and I wanted to play either wr, corner, rb, or kicker.
But when I saw Lamar Jackson he made me want to play qb. And I’m pretty good at it not to brag or anything. But anyway he inspired me as a young black man to chase my dreams and not let anyone tell me otherwise.
I also play baseball and I am a catcher and since I’m so fast they wanted me in outfield but I wanted to play catcher. and even tho Lamar is a football player, he still inspired me to become a catcher and now I’m going to the batting cages, getting better everyday and now i play almost every game.

The thing that makes Lamar Jackson so elite is his ability to consistently switch between his dual threat weapons. He's just different. You got some dual threats that either commit to the run or the throw with the threat of either. This man will sit in the pocket, if there's nothing he'll takeoff go, then if a defender is there he'll go for the juke, thing about the juke is also gives other defenders time to react, so he'll go back into a throwing motion, which freezes the defense because you have to respect this arm, which gives him time to run if he doesn't throw. We've scenarios where he does this repeatedly in 1 play just destroying the clock. Let's not forget if he doesn't completely destroy the first guy off the juke or whatever he pulls out of his bag. Not to mention those OP last second backyard school tosses. He's just Different!

That superbowl loss broke that team mentally. They let norman go, and cam newton also kept getting hurt. Though lamar Jackson has a completely different running style than cam, so I see him lasting longer, also lamar doesn't have much injury history as far as I know.
RAT. This season is similar in production but not in trajectory. Cams mvp season was incredible but they never built around him beyond that. I’m a panthers fan so I’ve been following the team for a while and I can definitively say that cam would have had way more success after his mvp season if the GM wasn’t obsessed with drafting Dlineman, failed at adding adequate help at skill positions and being cheap with important positions. The ravens OL is miles ahead of any line that the panthers have put together since cam was drafted. All of the skill guys they drafted up until recently had been failures or never fully developed. The worst part is that the panthers never got an OC who truly wanted to unleash cams talent, they ran a few read options and power runs sure but they never emphasized how overpowering he could be using his mobility, strong arm and power together. Norv turner in basically 1 season showed that with just a tiny bit of coaching you could have cam be an efficient passer.

As a non-American, football had me wondering until Lamar. So many missed clear opportunities for the QB to run the ball, either to avoid losses or to gain yards himself instead of just handing the ball and watch the play develop like a spectator. Or the advantages of just having the defense knowing that you COULD run with your QB and that they have to take it into account.
Why did it take so long for a team to fully commit to a running QB? I think the game simply suffers from the absence of international competition that soccer has.
Injuries mainly afaik. Most running qbs before lamar have gotten major injuries, including his own backup, rg3. Also quarterbacks are the leaders of the team, and them getting hurt is a massive hit to morale and to the team itself. If as many running qbs were as smart as lamar with not getting hurt and not taking unnecessary shots, this league will have more dual threats.

BUT, it is about racism? Ok, soccer is played in so many countries that you would easily find a country where racism on black people simply doesn't make sense for obvious reasons or an owner that doesn't give a shit about anything but winning by all means.
It's just my opinion but I think the lack of that cultural diversity is slowing down the evolution of the game. You still haven't extensively tried out every single kind of player possible on each role, apparently, and that's one of the things that other sports had done in their first eras.
@@sr3940 I can't argue on that because even though pocket QBs get injured too, you're probably exposing yourself to a higher risk of getting seriously injured by running the ball and not sliding.
But, since, like many say, Lamar isn't a good passer (isn't he?), wouldn't it be easier to form decent passers but good athletes to fill the position for future teams rather than pure passers, allowing teams to have more than one at the same level or close enough to cover for possible injuries or even taking turns during the games while still taking advantage of this play style?
