Honda acknowledged this problem early on in 2002. At that time the grease they used to lube the rack , was of a below par quality and not heat resistant enough, so being above the headers , it dried out very quickly causing a sticky steering feel. (Solution: open rack, rebuild rubbers and seals, lube with the best , heat resistant grease, make a heatshield protecting the rack from the headers) Then they fitted a flimsy , plastic Rackslider that wore out pretty quick, causing a vague , mushy feel . (Solution: install the SHG Motorsport delrin rack slider) The rackdesign was horribly done , especially for a sportshatchback! The rack was mounted way op the firewall, en has these long tie rods wich connect to the center of the rack , (instead of a traditional rack where the tie rods attach to the outer the ends of the rack) , wich cause the tie rods to sit at een extremely weird angle , causing all kinds of steering and alignement problems, and pulling the car to all sides... (Solution: install adjustable tie rods (tegiwa,hardrace) , add a tegiwa rack riser, and a hardrace bumpsteer correction kit (inverted tie rod ends) . With all this done , go to a very good alignement specialist (not a run of the mill tyreshop) and ask them to do a fast road setup as geometry and let the car be corner balanced. I did all this to my 2005 civic em2 coupe with fully build NA K20a2, wich also has the eps rack, at first it was just TERRIBLE to drive. whats the best build for a k20z1? i want to decide whether i want to go all motor or just go cheap turbo. i want to be different and more sleeper so NA is more what i want.
K20a2 and z1 can survive even more. Stock internals the most I’ve seen is 650hp. But obviously there’s no reliability at that point, probably need a rebuild in 5-10k miles depending on how bad you beat on it. More impressed by the transmission and drivetrain

@@Basscouch I have a built PPG helical trans with quaife lsd and the lsd is a night and day difference. This, and I have Hondata traction control and boost by gear that makes the boost come on very linear.
Need to beef up that suspension so I doesn't drive all over the road. That's dangerous and can cause an accident. It's making good power tho for a stock block.
RSXs don’t come with LSD only the later model Si do im making the same power on my K24a2 swap and using the Acura ILX manual transmission & it doesn’t have LSD either
