  • The finals of the FACEIT Major we're expected to be a clash of titans as the #1 team Astralis took on the #2 team Na'vi. Unfortunately Astralis made quick work of the CIS team, winning 2-0. Given how dominate Astralis was, we wanted to take a closer look at the match, specifically on Na'vi map pick Overpass, and see where it went wrong.

    I hate how so many people immediately think the fact s1mple didn't carry is the reason they lost... it should be a team effort not just a one man show. It was NOT s1mple's fault.

    • @averytatavitto9333
      @averytatavitto9333 6 років тому +5

      It isn't S1mple's fault. Zeus just isn't a tactical mastermind anymore and the team relies heavily on S1mple and whoever else is in form at the time

    • @tgdhsuk3589

      it is s1mple having a bad day, thats not his fault everyone has a bad day, coldzera got 9 kills in 20 rounds once, stewie2k got 007
      they can have a bad day, and thats part of the reason for losing

      u guys dont understand, when interviewed on stage, sumple said smth like "in dota if you have no team, u cant do shit, whereas in csgo you can do your own game", well arriving in grand final neither his team nor him could do shit

      I think Edward is the weak link in the team.

      Navi’s game relies on giving s1mple and electronic 1v1ones that they should win so they do rely on individuals more than other top teams so s1mple having a bad game did affect the game a lot

    so basically they did nothing wrong. Just astralis is ready for everything

      Well navis biggest fault is their predictability. Even lower tier teams can read navi well. Also Navi waited too long for executes and since astralis is very patient with their utility it caused a lot of rounds to be lost on time. Astralis is also tactically superior with a lot of variation that easily outdoes the raw skill of navi.

    Zeus's style is just too easy to spot, is all. Its the same style he used in 2015, and is completely outdated. This is glossed over when simple goes insane, but when he doesn't the cracks are easily visible.

      @TrapKelly 6 років тому

      Well s1mple can't frag like a madman when Astralis is not allowing him to frag. The team is so good at CS with their style that many teams have to rethink what the meta should be.

      It’s also to do with the fact Astralis completely “nerfed” S1mple to the point where he’s made to look like a bot

    I'm betting the Underdog to win against Astralis would be MIBR. They have taken a map from them on Overpass and showed a good showing on Inferno during Blast. As well as an intense Bo3 during Stockholm. They are also one of the few teams that took a map from them, that consistently shows up in the big stage, apart from Liquid.
    Liquid also had very good showing against Astralis, but they always lost in the numerous times they went against each other in a Grand Finals. ECS, EPL, Eleague, etc.

    • @averytatavitto9333
      @averytatavitto9333 6 років тому +1

      MiBR has tons of issues right now and while Yanko is fixing some of them, the core of the team just isn't there anymore. Coldzerra wants out according to numerous people in the know and honestly, Fallen isn't that great tactically anymore.
      Liquid is probably the closest to actually challenging and keeping Astralis's top spot with just little tweaks to their game and a little more maturity.
      Right now, this is probably the weakest top 10 in a while and this major kind of shows it. You have Astralis way up here and a team in Navi who tactically isn't great and gets carried by a Counter-Strike God in S1mple. While a team like Faze got an 3-0 sweep at Sydney, the total round difference was like 5 rounds over 3 maps. This major really cements the legacy of Gla1ve and Astralis and unless something major (pun intended) happens to the scene, Astralis as a good chance of going back to back

      Except they got 16-0’ed in dust2 lol

      Liquid is an extremely talented team that can reach #1. Except whenever they face Astralis in the finals, every single one of them seem lost as if they don't know what to do. Has happened so many times.

    • @chanchaniceman
      @chanchaniceman 6 років тому

      At this stage people will only see these results as flukes... I mean majority of the close games against Astralis have been flukes due to opposition playing extremely out of their minds to beat them. Best examples Faze’s win at Sydney maybe a 3-0 but on all 3 maps,Astralis pushed them to the brink and if it wasn’t for some insane clutch rounds and plays from Xizt,karrigan and all the faze players.. it would have gone either way. Liquid got 13 rounds against them at the major but had to grind out to get a 16-13 win and once in a Bo3,Astralis as usual made them look like Kids...

    Navi also was stupid enough to allow Astralis to pick nuke, a map the are LITERALLY UNDEFEATED ON. 19-0. It was a major blunder.

    • @averytatavitto9333
      @averytatavitto9333 6 років тому

      That's Zues for ya. He's a "genius" when S1mple hard carries them but he isn't washed up when S1mple doesn't hard carry against Astralis

    • @matthewmeas6835
      @matthewmeas6835 6 років тому

      It was either play nuke or cache. Cache is Navi’s go to ban in any bo3

    • @chanchaniceman
      @chanchaniceman 6 років тому

      The fact is Navi more or less perma banned cache and while Astralis rarely plays there.... even then it’s still gonna be a major whitewash given how well prepared Astralis was..

    I 100% agree with the video. Imo S1mple and Electronic is > Device and Dupree(sorry lazy to check spelling) but Astralis's team play and tactics are so superior that it makes everyone in Navi fail and forced to play differently
