Dear Lauren, I have to say that this is the most moving argument I have heard for being pro-choice. I am not pro-choice because I believe it to be murder, but I don't hate the women who have chosen to end a life by aborting. What good would that do anyone? We each live our own perspective born of our own experiences, and I have compassion for their plights, and some of these women are my friends. I simply can't condone the killing of innocents, can't allow the ends to justify the means, so all I can do is let them know my truth, stand my own ground, be accepting of them standing theirs, and love them. This issue isn't black or white but many shades of gray, and you are so right in your final lines. Your video didn't change my stance, but it gave me greater understanding of the experiences of a few more women, and even more compassion, and for that I thank you.

***** I beg your pardon as perhaps I gave the wrong impression, but I Do Oppose the legal right for a woman to have the choice to kill her baby. I fight against it-- sign petitions, donate my money, educate others on aspects of abortion that they are never shown in the abortion clinics-- but the simple truth is, as things stand right now, they do have that choice, no matter how much I wish they didn't. Despite my belief that it is wrong because it is murder, it is not my place to condemn, to hate, to add to the pain so many suffer because they took the legal opportunity availed to them. Again, what good has ever come of that? If your son or daughter killed a born person, for ex., wouldn't it hurt your heart that they made that choice? But would you not still love them despite the evil that they had done? Is the choice to take a life the only thing that defines them? Would your continued love for them mean you condoned their actions? Accepting the choice a woman makes and loving them anyway because there is nothing you can do about what has already been done does not mean you approve of their choice or their right to make it, but it may help them heal, help them love themselves again, and who knows, may even open a door that will lead to a different choice the next time.

rethinkingtheblink you condemn by not allowing free choice through your actions. If you don't want to ever abort then that is fair enough but to deny women who are unable to cope with a baby/pregnancy is beyond shitty and gives them pain and hurt beyond what you can imagine. Either say you are pro-choice or pro-life-no-matter-what but do not say it is not your place to condemn and pretend you are some saint. It is not your life and it is not your baby that will be born into a family where the mother will be unable to care for it because of the circumstances someone else put you in. You are part of the wound and yet you talk about healing. Fuck you and your pro-unable-to-survive-out-of-the womb-so-more-of-a-leachy-organ-but-who-cares-fuck-a-woman-who-is-already-alive petitions.

You think I'm being sanctimonious and fake? OK let's see if this is real enough for you... No one denied them the choice of whether to spread their legs without protection against a pregnancy and child they didn't want... Unless, of course, it was rape, and very few of the millions of abortions performed have anything to do with rape, but rather are the results of the irresponsibility of the sex partners in failing to use protection... And those same partners are willing to kill an unborn baby in order not to have to deal with the consequences of that irresponsibility. It's despicable to me that people find that acceptable. Exercise your rights Before it costs another human being their life. Think about the life the child you don't want will have Before you conceive it. It turns my stomach that people are so selfish but all these things are not all that define a person and if you think I'm sanctimonious because I said that I think people are wrong and that I can love them anyway well...I love you anyway.

+Julian Christopher Geritz Let me just ask, it's not love to expect someone to take responsibility for their mistakes? That's ridiculous, and part of what's wrong in the world today. And those blob of cells aren't going to come out as a dog if they are allowed to live, now are they? I believe in the sanctity of human life, and believe the innocent deserve protection by the mothers who created them and not to be slaughtered like heinous inconveniences. As sad as it is, and despite your idealistic percentages there is a large percentage of women who view termination as a form of birth control and nothing more. For those who don't, more often than not, they suffer from a lifetime of guilt, shame, and torment which comes from within themselves, even when they have support. You are right that education is needed, but sex ed is out there everywhere, and the type that's needed is on how devastating an abortion can be for the person who cares because most women have no real clue of the affect it can have on their lives, and education on true options available when women feel they have no choice but to abort. I didn't mention the men to put all the responsibility on the woman, but rather because although men are necessary to produce that baby, they have no sayso in whether the woman allows their child to live! There are many men devastated by abortion because of their lack of choice. The women are not the only ones that matter! I'm not an extremist yelling murderer outside of abortion clinics, in case no one can see that I'm not that type of objectionist. Maybe there's a lot of condemning going on here from those who don't want to be done that way. Condemning an action or belief is not the same as condemning the person, and people need to realize the difference. The opinions that truly matter to me the most are those of my friends who know I love them regardless of their choices and my beliefs on this issue and who love me, in part, because that. Life is about perspective and we each have our own...

Brought me to absolute tears, being someone who loved another that decided to kill our baby as i had nightmares for YEARS and it still haunts me!!!! Am i , Human now because of this? or just a monster? The choice was not mine we were not ready, the choice was not my unborn child never able to breath in the air that i did. Then 1 year later out of guiolt maybe as it tore us apart she finds another man, and decides, I am ready now, 24 years ago and the memories still haunt. are we ever "ready?

+Nunya bidniss The only reason why this is such a big deal here in the USA is because of this shitty Christian religion. We in Germany don't have that shaming over something like that going on. I know at least 10 women who had abortions myself included. None of us ever thought about it. It was rather like "aggh, I am pregnant got to get that out". The total opposite of the belief here in the USA that's why it is so darn hard for me to understand the religious people. They have this belief shoved down their throats and they have been shamed by their parents, friends and society. What a horrible thing that is. That's why it is time for all people to break out of that suppression.
