I came back from war with extreme PTSD and anxiety. My Doberman literally saved my life. She’s so sweet and protective. Loves everyone but is loyal to me. They really are the best in my opinion. There are a ton of other excellent dogs, Dobes are just my personal favorite. Beautiful, intelligent, loyal, and fearless.

We had a German Shepherd similar to your Doberman only loyal to my father was a bit aggressive with everyone else though.

Love dobies. My baby would protect me with her life when I was a teenager. At 19 I was in a very serious car accident. My dog had no experience with dealing with injured people (had many broken bones/internal injuries) so I was concerned. She just seemed to know she had to be gentle with me, she seemed to know where she could touch me and where not too. She had no training to do this, she just knew/sensed. Protected me even more while I was healing, actually she was mistaken for being my assistant dog because she was so well behaved (& it was obvious i was inpaired physically). Next dog will be a dobie. They are beautiful souls. And humourous! 😊
That’s amazing! I was raised all my life with Dobes and have my own as an adult with children. Wouldn’t have any other breed. My home and children are 100% safe 100% of the time!

I have owned and trained working dogs for several decades now (I am 60). Dobermans are my favorite for the reasons stated in this video, although I love all of them a great deal...this video explains what is so unique and special about the working line. When I started out the Doberman was the most feared of all dogs back in the 70s due to their use in Hollywood films and World War II "Black Devils" with the Marine Corps. Since then in the U.S. they have tried to tamp down the edge on the breed a bit but all that did was make some of the lines either lazy or frightened. They should have left the bloodlines alone like in Europe. Now the breed is starting to come back to where it was, but it will take time...and make sure you screen for heart issues which turned up after the US breeders started messing with the gene pool which made the difference between an American and Euro Dobe more noticable (appearance and temparment). There is no better dog to train or own than a well bred, attentive Doberman. They are striking, powerful, have cat-like reflexes, and are extremely loyal.
Thank you for this video! I wanted a Doberman since I was a kid. Finally I bought one, he is half American, half European, 11 week old lil' alligator lol. He is a big boy, very smart and definitely a good eater!
How’s he doing these days? I just got a half euro half American just over a month ago. He is now 14 weeks old

I’m on my 2nd Female now and love this breed. One minute she’s a lap dog, the next minute she’s in full protection mode. Always on guard and ready to please.
So True I'm on my first Doberman Male one min he is just kicking back on the couch, knock at the door he is at the door some times he barks sometimes he just waits...lol..most of the time he barks.

I adore these dogs. I am on my second Dobie and am a fan for life. So gorgeous, intelligent, fun. I could go on and on. They are show stoppers.
i love Doberman , about the barn hunting , i told my friends that my dobes hunt rats so easy and they can hear the rats running in the water pipes inside the walls expecting when and where the rats coming out , i had 4 dobes all had this senses , also they predict if a stranger is a danger or harmless so they dont attack all the time even if they are offleash , they can hear sounds before most of the other dog breeds . i raised many breeds but dobes they are the best.

I used to have my first doberman at the age of 32. I did not remember of he was a Eurapean or American doberman. Dobermans are fearless , loyal, confident, intelligent, brave, and very beautiful dogs, In fact they are my 2nd favorite dog breed! In 2014, My doberman named Jackson saved my life! When I was going for a swim I wanted to use the diving board for the first time! I was soo nervous and exited. Jackson was eating his food and when I dived in the pool I drowned cuz its like 5.4 inches deep. My doberman heard me screaming for help with his powerful ears. he jumped in the pool at the age of 3! And a 200 pound doberman dragged me out of the pool! He was a savior!! German shepherds, rottweilers, belgian malinois, and pitbulls can also be a savior but I think dobermans are the best like best super dog LOL!!! Even tho there is tons of other guardian dog breeds like the german shepherd. My personal favorite is the biggest, strongest, and most loyal doberman!! Thank you soo much for sharing this video with us! Now we all know how intelligent loyal and protective dog they are!!
My Doberman he just knew how to be a protection dog without any training just as my Shepherd and husky, they are always very good at protecting my cattle and they will kill or scare off predators, the only thing I did was to train them on some obedience and that's it, I take them to the tractor supply or the park and they have never bark or act dumb in a store or a public place.
I treat my dogs like family and love them like family maybe that's why they are so good because they feel love

If u think about a perfect guarding and family dog, and list all their traits, u will basically be listing all of the traits from a doberman‘
The dog at 4:32 is by far the most wonderfully proportioned muscular dobe! Also the shorter ear crop makes him look more robust
Man I love these videos ever since I came across your channel with the Lure Coursing Sighthounds video. Really like the content on the working breeds. It's probably pretty hard to find but would love to see a video on some working Greyhounds who do coursing, I know you did the video on the Saluki, Pharoah Hound, Wolfhound, and Whippet but Greys are my fav. Understand they're mostly bred for racing or show so my guess is that's why we haven't seen one on this breed yet. Still, a Greyhound video of any kind would be great to see in the future! For once and for all...it's DobermaNN, with double "NN"The breeder is a German, called "Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann" (1834-1894)The best Dobermanns are in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.

I have had all types of dogs from beagles to bull mastiffs. Best all around dog i Ever had was my doberman. He was a soldier.
Had a doberman named Fronz, you could trigger him with a hissing noise that no human could hear. My only dog that had a few bites.

Great video, loved everything you said, the only problem with the dobie is health issues, so many it breaks my heart! Had such a fantastic female Doberman, but I lost her to soon , great on / off switch, super athletic, and beautiful, for the most part breeders have screwed this breed, where can you find a dobie no, I mean no health problems?
I really enjoyed this. I am on my third Doberman. He is 1 yr old and my female is 10. I’m upset that because I had to go through, and still am going through sever hardship and am behind on my 1 yr old . He’s half working half show. I will get him him back in-line because I want him in shutzhund. He’s excellent socially and and in basics but I want more. I am Alfa in my House and the dogs know it. If we make it to CA I will have to check you out.

Find a good breeder and vet and get their opinions; one can be scared of many things in life on all different kinds of dog breeds...you may be missing out on a good dog, I have a Doberman of 3 years, paid 1k for my Doberman I don't regret is at all...tried to get one from a Doberman rescue they would not let me have one because I have a cat and at that time did not have a fenced in yard

I’m planning on getting a Doberman in 2020. I live alone in Toronto. I work from home so I feel I can dedicate enough time for my dobie! What is the average cost of a Doberman? I’m learning as much as it is available how to be a good dog owner. I had 1 mid size dog few years ago . Still miss her . This would be a great experience with my new dog .

I’ve been checking into it and shelters have senior and 3-4 yr old Doberman’s too. No, not as many in shelters as pit bulls.
I thought about adopting a 10-11 year old male Doberman. His ears and tail are intact. I am sure I would never get the real reason he wound up in a shelter.😡

i have a question, apart from difference in appearance between working line dogs and show line dogs.. do pups also take away the behavioral traits of their parents? ... coz he mentions, if for a home pet, he would suggest getting a showline dog... n if for guarding, he suggested a workline dog... so my question is , even if its a showline pup, wouldn't it have the same instinct of the breed and end of the day, doesn't any dog behavior depends on how they are brought up???

Support good breeders who breed great dogs and arent running a buisness of dog selling. By doing so, well see less mentally unstable dogs, less shelter dogs and generally better quality 8f life for both owners and dogs. All of the top breeders I know have and will routinely turn down buyers and will recommend that you seek other breeds or even not getting a dog at all for the time being. And when they dog sell it's with strict guidelines. They will check up and they will help. BUT they are not cheap. However I think the steep price and the strict rules is what separates impulsive buyers from true buyers who want to raise and love the animal. I guarentee you that if more people did that you see far less people getting tue wrong breed like pitbulls because that's the only need available in shelters and rescue groups pushing them as though they're tue next best thing since sliced bread. Getting a pitbull is risky buisness. And typically what you see at shelters are the leftovers of bad and in poo is live buying and breeding. We start to support quality breeders, well start seeing less dogs in shelters, less dog attacks and more happy people.
As tough and strong and smart as Dobermans are. They only bite when absolutely Necessary.
6:54 to 7:02 that's the problem most people want a home pet and home protector in the same dog. There shouldn't be this working line vs show line bullcrap. Making a show dog and working dog all in one should be the goal. The dog should be mentally sound and stable without the extremes of working or show lines.
