Watching them work on playing each other's horns was incredible to see. Loved working with Gino in the early 2010's. It would be 12 years from this season until I got to meet Gino. One of the best in the business and I've learned so much from him.
No Way. It sucks it was 22 years ago and not everyone had 4k phones on them all the time back then. That show is a cherished memory. That lives on In all viewers and marching fanatics alike. Be proud and happy for all the hard work you and the rest of your corps did
Wow, I always thought that the players who were crossing their hands over were not actually playing -- just a visual trick. (The reason I thought this is because not everyone crosses over to their neighbor's valves at the same time.) I was wrong!
@@KiranSundarkdog97 I actually don't think they should have gotten the ott. Their finals run is pretty rough. overblowing out of tune etc. still a good show tho. semis was ott worthy id say.
@@johnstone6764 I forget how judging conventions worked in 2000, but on average, I’d say the Cadets had the best hornline finals week, so the Ott was deserved on that basis imo (though I agree the Finals run was rough). I actually commented on another video that their 2001 hornline was better than 2000’s - I dare say THEY probably deserved the Ott even more than 2000, though I recognize the BD and Vanguard hornlines were very good that year.
@@KiranSundarkdog97 yeah I don't know what happened to us that day. When we left the field, we all knew something wasn't right. That entire night just felt "off."
Gino spent the previous decade as a brass instructor for BD. When he started The Cadets caption head gig, I think he brought a lot of the BD style warm ups.
And this is after months of practice with those god awful none bugle horns. Just despicable that two or three people were allowed to kill drum corps. Welcome to the first year of band corps.
This is a great video to pop up in my recommendations
San Antonio!❤

Would you believe people were saying we faked it? I always thought that was pretty funny.
@@TheRailwayDrone yeah. Hahaha! I know when I was in high school, people said you guys faked it. But there was no way to fake it.
@@EvanYoungMusic Right! I used to sit on the bus after shows trying to figure out how we would be able to fake that.
So glad to have been part of this sonorous hornline.

@@Newlolz989 I WISH we had all the technology back then that we have today. This show is worth a 4k video, GoPro, Drone shot, etc lol...,

This line grew a ton in the last 2 weeks. Have to admit .. this is pretty rough.
True, but their Ott is a testament to their growth!
