Great video! Nice information of the internals! Very Nice wheel for the price that is available, still using mine,I Will only upgrade if It gets broken.
Nice one. Really quite interesting. I don’t think removing the motor would make any difference to the noise as the noise is probably coming from the train of gears themselves. Greasing the gears may reduce the noise a bit but not even sue if that would do much. I don’t think the holes in the big gear attached to the steering wheel shaft have anything to with sensing speed or rotation, probably to reduce cost of manufacture (no point in reducing weight since big heavy steering wheel attached). I suspect the little cog with the tiny slots on the rear of the motor is used to sense not only the rate of turn but also amount of turn. That’s the reason for initial calibration as there is no absolute position sensor. Oh this bring back memories from when i was designing servo systems back in the 70’s! I must get myself a steering wheel and pedals. FS on keyboard only is a nightmare. I’m currently using a game pad which is manageable. I borrowed a steering when but true owner wanted it back unfortunately.
I think you might be right about the motor not being the noisy part - it's a shame 'cause other than that it's perfect. Everything is covered in grease already so don't think it would help much. Keep an eye out on Ebay 'cause some bargains still come up! Can't believe I missed that one going for £11.50!! But yes, trying to do FS on a keyboard is nigh on impossible. 😂👍
Fascinating design, very clever indeed. What cracks me up is the sticker at 2:19 - what on EARTH is that supposed to be? Child with a hula hoop catching cats? Baby peeing on a sofa?
It's a little kid in front of the steering wheel (the wheel and the gearshifter on the right). It means that this is no toy for kids. A force feedback wheel can turn amazing fast and with much force, so it would hurt or breaks the childs arm.
I bought a rampage force v995, and when it calibrates itself, it stays a few degrees to the left. When I accelerate, it increases up to 180 degrees and the wheel still thinks it’s straight. It there a way to solve it?
Yo, so I have a problem... I have the same steering wheel, but it's faulty, sort of... Basically I can connect it to PC and PS2, I can sense the steering being lighter and one of the leds turns on, but the other led won't turn on, it won't do its calibration routine, and if it doesn't do its calibration, no input is registered... I can turn it, press buttons but no response... Tried multiple times... no response of living other then thye left led and the steering being lighter... (yes, I tried to see if on the software sees any input/output being made but nothing happens) It's basically as if it doesn't turn on... What could be the problem, and how could I fix it? Of course there are more factors for this not working, so just tell me what to check inside the wheel and I'll check so I can at least identify the problem... PLS HELP I'M DESPERATE!
Can i use this model for pc gaming. I'm planning to play forza horizon 4,5 and euro truck sim. Will this wheel good solution for 2022 gaming. Will forza horizon recognize this wheel or setting up this wheel will be hard?. Hope you help me 😊
Hey, I have this wheel. Can you make a video setting it up to your pc like connecting it to your pc and games. If you have forza horizon 4 and it works that be awesome. I can’t figure out to connect it to forza and their is no answers on the internet for this one in specific. If you can help me please we can work something out $$. Thank you
have you already bought a new wheel or are you still using the same logitech wheel? These two steering wheels are my recommendation for you (without force feeback) £99.99(amazon) Thrustmaster T80 Ferrari 488 GTB Edition £74.99(amazon) RWA Racing Wheel Apex both wheels are compatible with ps4 and pc, but there is a caveat, both wheels have a very limited steering rotation.(t80 = 240 degrees, apex = 270 degrees)
or just buy the thrustmaster t150, it's a cheap entry level force feedback wheel, it has a mixed belt-pulley and gears system, i know that you don't need force feedback, but from what i have heard, the t150 should be a quiet wheel, it is definitely significantly quieter than your logitech steering wheel, and another plus is the steering rotation of 1080 degrees.
got this thing for 10 US dollars, I believe that's 7.57 quid? or whatever you guys call it, I thinking it would not be worth that much, turns out it can go for 50 to 100 US dollars, that's 37.85 to 75.69 quid? im just googling it, I have no idea what quid is

If you want to reduce noise without removing the force feedback you can just re grease the gears with silicone based lube.
Yea i tought about that

Very Clear explanation sir !
Can I ask for the Logitech Driving Force Pro GT E-UJ11 driver?

if you unplug the motor from the motherboard, there is less resistance than if you just dont plug in the power adapter
dude, how does the light or sensor know which way the wheel is going, like left or right?
All you have to do is not plug the power pack in, that's what drives the motor.

Don't the 2 LEDS indicate whether it's in 900 degree steering mode? I think... Not sure. Is the power supply defo OK?
Thanks. Awesome video

How to set 900⁰ ? My does only 180⁰ please help
The game normally controls it but you might need the Logitech drivers / software. Think it's called Logitech Gaming Software.
update?
Hey so i bought this wheel and when i connect it it never calibrated itself and i cant get it to work on my computer
Hmm... if it doesn't calibrate itself when it's plugged in it sounds faulty. Do you have the power plugged in too?
Do you have windows 10 ? I installed correct drivers then did some more research and everyone says windows 10 dose not support drivers
Take the magnets out of the motor, optimal attack the rotors amature with an angel grinder, ok last thing is destructive
Taking the magnets out would be fairly destructive too. 😂👍
@@AndyMac It depend on how they are attached, if glued then not that easy, but if press-fit then you may have a chance.
Does this work with bmg drive?
My wheel only rotates 90 degrees to the right and left is there a way I can fix that?
Download the official Logitech software / driver to enable 900 degree steering 👍
