Quentin Tarantino Loved Watching Graphic Movies as a Kid - Late Night with Seth Meyers
• Quentin Tarantino Love...
Late Night with Seth Meyers
/ latenightseth
What I have always appreciated about him is that he never fails to remind people that they don't HAVE to like his movies, because HE likes them and that's why so many others like them too.
Rarely do you see someone who really enjoys their art as much as him
Ridley Scott does
Twyla Tharp does
@@dustyoldhat I didn’t say he was the only one 😂
he says he does but I think he could get bored with it
He even said recently if he sees his movies on cable he’ll stop to watch some of it because he only makes movies he loves and they’re fun to watch. That’s very cool to me.
I wish I had a fraction of the talent, passion, and focus that Tarantino has
^^^^
Judging by all the cuts, this interview may have actually been 4 hours long lol
SETH WOULD NEVER DO US DIRTY! GIVE US THE MEYERS-CUT!
And probably a remake of a little known Japanese interview!😜
Sitting for 4 hours and talking to QT would be an honor to me
@@retrog00fy63 Me, too. Just a joke about the cuts.
It is impossible to listen to Quentin Tarantino and NOT come away with essential learning experiences about the art of filmmaking! Quentin is literally walking, talking film school for those of us who are intently listening! Thank you so much for having him on Seth! 😎👍
In the early 70a my father bought HBO in Virginia in order to watch "Blazing Saddles".
So "Blazing Saddles" was my 4 year old comedy exposure. It was the BEST!
Love Quentin, Love Seth!
Love the Show. Thanks
I remember to this day how much my Dad laughed at the campfire bean scene. Good times
A movie that could never be made today
I saw that movie in a small theater in Long Island that was a former PO. A guy a couple rows up was laughing so hard & stomping his feet that the whole room would shake 😂
@@samanthab1923 What's a PO
@@dustyoldhat Post Office
I just got back today from seeing him last night! It was about 7 hours just to NYC but it was worth it. I saw him speak at 'Town Hall' in Times Square, and I have to say I have never seen a Director get that big of a crowd outside trying to get autographs and see him. His ride was surrounded by people about 5 people deep on all sides. People were happy and begging him to at least roll down his window, and he did. He was very kind and I asked if I could get a high five and I got one and I was ecstatic. I yelled out "Quentin Tarantino is the Tom Cruise of Directors". It made me happy to see a Writer/Director get that much respect.
We need Quentin Tarantino's 10th film.
Of course he did 😂😂 We need another Tarantino masterpiece soon!!
Yeah shocking 🙄
Perfection takes time
I'd love to see the full unedited interview, just upload the whole thing raw.
Seth has such an operatic laugh😂it’s like he’s singing. I love it. It’s almost cherubic.
His energy is sooooo good
I have listened to the audio book Version and it is awesome, loved every minute of it.
I watched both Zorro movies again last week and have wishfully been thinking about a revamp of the Zorro-legend ever since. So I was thrilled when I looked at Quentins IMDB-page now, and noticed that he's in pre-production for a crossover-movie of Django and Zorro!!!!!
Oh nooo! Apparently the project has been declared dead for unknown reasons. Mr. Tarantino, please make this movie!!! For a moment I was more excited about an upcoming film than I have been for years.
Sounds like fun!
There are comics for this. I was telling a friend about it years ago and he was confused because he thought I said Zorro and Jango crossover. He asked if Zorro got a lightsaber.
Sadly, it’s not gonna happen. Tarantino worked on the script with Jerrod Carmichael and apparently they wrote a 500million dollar movie lol. Apparently it was really really good and Antonio Banderas was enamored with it but the budget would be off the rails
The Mask of Zorro is maybe my favorite movie of all time and Django Unchained is right up there too for me so I’ve been dreaming and praying that this movie would get made but it doesn’t look like it anymore
However QT wrote a comic book Django/Zorro crossover a few years after Django Unchained came out in theaters which I have and is really fun and has really cool artwork
American Werewolf in London was one of the first movies i saw on a VCR...when i was 6...also Porky's
I caught the ending of ISADORA on cable when I was a kid and the face she makes when she is strangled by her scarf caught on the wheel was the most horrifying thing ever.
Cinema Speculation is a great read!
I saw that movie about Isadora Duncan!!!! I havent heard anyone mention it it in all these years!
I saw that at home with my dad probably too young
he make movies he likes and he is dam good at it, with all that knowledge he can do whatever he wants whether you like it or not, but still you will love it....one of the greatest filmmakers of our time.
You can see that they cut some parts of the taping because Quentin tends to talk a lot during his interviews.
Great director. He really goes indepth as far as movies and movie history when he was on the Brett Easton Ellis podcast.
Could listen to him talk forever
He is the definition of the genius-insanity line.
Your carrier embodies the true essence of being an artist and positively impacting the world beyond, film.
Seth asked great questions
Tarantino is a modern legend. I think he's still underrated despite all the acclaim he gets because no way he's not one of the best directors of all time.
In what universe is Quentin underrated
LOL, I never would've guessed that. He makes such wholesome, family-friendly movies, after all. 😅
I just love Quentin, his movies are amazing !
It would be so cool to have a long format podcast (say 2 or 3 hours) with Tarantino talking with the greats that are still around, people like Carpenter or Redford.
QT has a podcast where he talks about movies - in case you cant get enough of him 😏
Correction. Quentin and the writer Roger Avary have a podcast. And Rogers daughter Gala.
@@dustyoldhat dont kid yourself, hardly anybody would listen to it without Quentin Tarantino. I'm not saying the Avarys arent playing ball with him. If he was just talking all by himself it would be only half as interesting, but he is the headliner of the podcast, the reason people tune in.
@@Ganiscol I’m not kidding myself just pointing out it’s not just Quentin. Roger and his daughter are actually the ones who run the show fyi. It would be more accurate to say that Roger Avary “has a podcast” that features his old friend Quentin Tarantino. Also, you state that “hardly anyone would listen to it without QT” - it wouldn’t exist without QT because the whole premise of the show is them watching videos from the video store they both used to work at together that sold its entire collection to Quentin when it shut down. It’s Quentins collection they’re watching. That’s the whole premise. Why are you so defensive about Roger Avary making a podcast about his friends video collection?
Whaaaaat! I have been looking for the name of that movie since I saw the strangulation scene as a kid 😃 Of course it's Quentin who tells me!
QT is the man!!! I can't wait to read this book! 🤩
Quentin has on dry humor 😂😂😂 I like him
Ahh, two of my three favorites! 💕
Great interview
Quentin is the geekiest geek that ever geeked. We could all learn something from him.
Now I kind of want to know more about his parents.
His father was his stepfather who raised him watching every movie. His biological father is a deadbeat who peaced out his whole life till Quentin became famous then tried to cash in on his career
Well, last year he did say he doesn't give his mom any help because she didn't believe in him. Then here he says she's the coolest.
@@vb8428 Both can coexist, all he said was specifically she wouldn’t get his money or a mansion because of her disparaging. Doesn’t mean they don’t have a great relationship.
2022 must’ve been the year for famous people to come out as DILWID.
Oh & really good questions Seth!
No reason why QT should care for Isadora Duncan but she pushed the boundaries of dance at that time in a similar manner to QT and film. Plus, she did die in the way depicted so any one who knew of her life would have known it was coming. Amazingly, there have been theatrical productions of her life where they have had to somehow show the scarf death happening on stage.
QT is DILWID
This is awesome
Quentin is very talented
Seemed like he wanted to talk more, take note seth, always make the man last interview.
He's creative. Like his movies a lot. Despite the violence and language. Can't wait for his next movie.
My boomer brother took me to see Magnum Force. I was 5! I still remember original scenes that stunned me!
Man, if we don't get the full interview of this imma mail Seth a light punch in the face
Quentin Tarantino is amazing
he's fun to listen to so his movies would be fun

Late Nights In The Middle Of June With Seth Meyers
☠️ Proof 1of my Favz!
His podcast is great, too!
me too in 90's i watched it and horror movies x files to they live when i was 6
CORRECTION!!!... The whole interview pleaaaaaase...??? 😉
Haha I loved watching Quentin Tarantino movies as a kid!
Everything You Wanted to Know... is one of my absolute favorite comedies and maybe the only Woody Allen movie I've ever liked. ❤️
Seth trying to meet Quentin’s energy
Can I please have just a lil bit of your energy Quentin??? 😄🙏
You do realize that energy is love right? Specifically the kind of love that David Pond writes about
@@WilsonWilsen-Wylsyn not familiar with his work will have to do some research 👍
@@JonnyDIY *her work.
David Pond is a girl.
Inspiration?
Love?
Why he writes?
2022?
Coming out in 2022?
IDA CELESTIA POND.
(Though in the middle of June 22 is when she fell in love with her)
2:22 He does an impression of Rich Evans doing an impression of David Carradine.
He does an impression of David Pond fangirling over her
Mine was the original “Bonnie and Clyde”. I was maybe 8 yo!!
@2:04 Roadsters are 2-seaters, and have no "back" (unless she was riding on the trunk or something). He probably just meant "convertible".
It was an Amilcar CGSS considered a sporting car.
@@samanthab1923 That is certainly representative of a roadster, but also has no back seat.
I love Quentin! Such a film genius, an awesome story-teller.
I wonder what Quentin thought of craig Denney's the astrologer from January 14, 1976.
He's GOAT.
This type of inspiration has happened before in the same year
*coughdavidpondcough*
It wasn’t David Pond, it was Ida Celestia.
David is heir to Gerald Randolph Pond, Ida is heiress to Patrick Pond. What a big dynasty.
Also, what a poor dynasty. Only inherited poetic talent and a couple of pigs.
Dude is bloody brilliant. But, he's the guy at a party you wish you hadn't started a conversation with... Cool talking to you man, but I'm off to find a tasty beverage
Of course 😂
Tarantino & Oliver Stone have similar facial structure; QT is like Stone animated.
HE'S VALID
His book “Cinema Speculation”? More like his book “Life And Loons At Lake George”!
Imagine that lol
Quinton t.
I've got a last movie pitch for you!
It involves a lot of Alaskan natives😎
Quentin has such a huge head. Where else would he keep his encyclopedic film knowledge?
a bit disappointed Seth didn't pull out his christoph waltz impersonation
Watching graphic movies as a kid is a duty. Like checking under bushes for dirty books... it's what childhood's for!
I have a huge therapy bill.
Two friends and I found a box of dirty magazines in a big field under a tree back in the early 80's. Up until about 2 years ago I thought it was just a lucky find until I learned that was a thing that men did to pay it forward!! In the UK they call it "forest p*rn" and it happened a lot back in the day!
FEEDS SH*T INTO UR MIND AND CORRUPTS UR SOUL/MIND/SPIRIT TO ALLOW AND ACT WITH CRUELTY AND VIOLENCE!!
fire whoever edited this
This is the scene Tarantino is talking about: ua-cam.com/video/njDTDoOhQ58/v-deo.html

I saw a lot of cool movies before I was supposed to.
pray for my boy hes looking like hes in his mid life crisis stage he need to write kill bill 3
this is the guy motivating me to create a superhero comic/movie where a guy with chaning superpowers has 12 days two kill all the billionaires in the world
Pretty sure everybody already knew what the title says. lol
Fart noise at 6:38
I think his masterpiece is "Pulp Fiction". He combined surrealism with the trappings of real life so memorably. The first time I saw it, people were more shocked than amused. I saw it again, weeks later in a small campus cinema, and the crowd was laughing and shocked.
... when you don't expect an American to throw in some French and you hear "rack on tour" ...
Quentin.. We all know ,that you know obscure trivia about obscure movies..
Cool,so do many of us.. Now stop tooting your own Horn, and Make another movie.!
He looks good. Everybody else aged like an orange during the pandemic years.
In other news, the sky is blue
walking dead last ep shows eugine like out of place pulp fiction love it
Sharon Horgan should write a terse letter to Seth for him not recognizing that the film "Isadora" played strongly in her series Bad Sisters that she promoted on his show just a few weeks ago! By the way, anyone reading this should watch that series - lots of fun!
Lol. Now I gotta see the film because I love her.
But these interviewers aren't there to be friends or research every guest and what they say.
I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised that the two of them smoked marijuana cigarettes…reefers!
"Quentin Tarantino Loved Watching Graphic Movies as a Kid"
What kid didn't?
🤔 all those way overdone Tarantino impressions from Seth, and now I realize they actually have very similar voices..!
why couldn't you guys have gotten Quentin to host snl instead of Chapelle? ol' Tarantino did a whole movie about killing nazis with the power of flammable art. I bet his monolog wouldn't have been anti-trans or anti-Semitic. ol' QT prob would have a choreographed sword fight pop up and maybe even tasteful nudity. just saying
He’s an odd fellow
6:38 fart?
What’s with the chin implants?
Great movies. But such a hard person to listen talk. WAAAAAY too much neurosis for me.
