Gorgeous painting 🖼. I just didn’t understand all the pink covering the canvas in the start when at the end of the painting you covered it totally with different landscape colors 🥴 and trees, grass, road, house etc Interesting!
no - clear gel is a medium used to keep the canvas wet, making it much easier for paint to slide & blend on the canvas. particularly useful for acrylics which dry very quickly, allowing smooth blending & paint movement on canvas
At 0:42 it says oil paint so I believe that. It's possible to layer oil paint wet to wet. The backround must be done as thinly as possible. Kevin sometimes wipes off the excess paint with a paper towel before continuing to the foreground. For the foreground you should use more paint so that you can apply it without scrubbing too much and that the colour will overpower the lower layer if some mixing occurs.
I think the result of your slap-dash "it is what it is, who cares?" kind of painting is VERY different from mine! lol Mine would be a lot more of a hot mess!

no - clear gel is a medium used to keep the canvas wet, making it much easier for paint to slide & blend on the canvas. particularly useful for acrylics which dry very quickly, allowing smooth blending & paint movement on canvas
