- Many thanks to the Llangollen Railway & the Betton Grange 6880 Society for this mega display with the only glitch being the failure of the Black Five on the 14th.
Feature in this video were 34092 running as "Wells", 92214 named "Central Star", 3205, 3802, 5199,1450 with the Auto Train and 4270.
The video starts and finishes at Midford, aka Berwyn, a very nice touch with the sub theme being the Somerset & Dorset Railway.
Hope you enjoy this fine display of locomotives in action and best watched in 2160p.
Rural Wales at it's best John, excellent coverage as would be expected....this is certainly becoming the Gala to attend...Regards...Bob
Fine filming John producing a good record of the event. A most impressive departure by the driver of 34092, getting away from Berwyn without a slip
John what a great video you have put together, excellent filming in beautiful countryside, and entertaining enjoyable footage to watch John. I was surprised at the length of this as I remember you saying last you that you are not a lover of long video. Very good footage. Mike.
Excellent idea to have the Night Ferry headboard. It looked well. Llangollen provides a beautiful setting. I remember when I first saw "City of Wells" in Haworth yard on the Worth Valley line. It was minus its casing with only the front frame for fitting the casing to say it was a West Country class loco. There have been a number of restorations since then, not least the one when the less sparky chimney was fitted.
A great line up of steam locomotives at this event and very well filmed with some great views along the line. I am looking forward to my first visit to this railway in mid June. A very enjoyable video John and very well put together.
Best wishes - Allan.
Excellent video throughout John, a superb variety of loco's and locations, thanks for sharing your great day out, cheers...Bill
Excellent video John, Its a Railway where you cant go wrong, just point your camera, and with the scenery around you, plus the engines. How can you fail, Enjoyed watching so thank you.
Looks like it was a chilly but a fun day. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent filming and a great show of loco's...Dave
Thanks John, well filmed ..Dave
Cracking video, John. You have captured some great action. Like your shot from the field at the start, featuring, the non stopper. Good angle that was. I noticed myself waving to you, coming out of, Carrog ! Glad you found the spot o.k. Thanks for sharing. Regards, Liam
Enjoyed watching this well done.
Great coverage of the gala. Its me at 9:13!
Let off Steam ! A welcome memory of the Llangollen Railway :)
Just gotta love the 4K - even on a normal screen the clarity is sweet John. One day, I'll sabotage my 46" Sony and get a 4k TV as that footage is going to be superb. Love the double steamer there. Always wondered about the difference in gearing what with the smaller loco pumping away at half the rate of the front one. How do they balance the power!??? Thanks for sharing as always. Can't wait to see some spring footage!
***** blimey! That's a lot of time - obviously you have a stable internet connection.
34092 really looks the part at dusk with the Night Ferry. Well handled by the driver too; getting away on a gradient and on a curve without slipping's not easy.
Excellent video
Excellent video, well edited and some good trackside locations. Always good at this time of year without tree foliage. I presume they didn't have the 10 loco cavalcade on the final evening as the did on the previous 2 events. Finally, which camera do you use, good picture/sound.................thanks again..................Mike in Wales
Did they hve a cavalcade?
