    The great shots of 2859 give a good prototype to what I’m modelling. Thanks for making the video!

    I don't know why but I really like British shunting locomotives. Thanks for posting.

      The 08, goes way back to the GWR, LMS and Southern Railways, all had very similar versions and they were the very first diesel shunting units on Britain's railways...

    Thank you for a most engaging 40 mins or so .By far more interesting to watch than eg: Tornado flashing through some obscure country station @70mph.These movements are an excercise in logistics in the hands of a volunteer band of true devotees turning out on a day of
    absolute c**p. All credit to all concerned, particularly the chap in the Box sorting out the points etc. Llangollen Railway folks you have enough restoration/running materials to keep you going with all the volunteer help you can sustain for years to come - power to your efforts!

    They might need to cover up or paint some of that rolling stock.

    Im a volunteer at llangollen but hav not seen that pilkington loco before is it kept at the carage shed?

    • @chesterjoey2231

      Pilkington is usually kept in the main loco yard, mainly used for lighter shunting duties such as a light engine or two. She is not fitted with train brakes so is unsuitable for shunting coaching stock for example, nor is she suitable for running on the mainline.

    Is the engine complete? As in did the railway have all the parts in storage?

    • @chesterjoey2231
      @chesterjoey2231  7 років тому

      Some of the parts... We did build up a collection of parts of her eventual restoration, but when the decision was taken to put her up for sale nearly 10 years ago, a lot of the smaller/rarer parts were sold off to other groups. So to answer your question, no. But he was not complete when she left Barry Scrapyard either.

      @chesterjoey2231  6 років тому +2

      We were trying to simulate smoke coming out of the chimney. Not the most successful attempt... haha
