Marcus Aurelius’ wisdom on leading with integrity and calmness resonates deeply in today’s chaotic world. A reminder that respect is earned through actions and not demands-timeless advice!
Absolutely inspiring! Stoicism reminds us of the power of focusing on what we can control and letting go of what we cannot. This video beautifully captures the timeless wisdom of staying resilient and grounded, no matter the challenges life throws our way. Thank you for sharing such profound insights!
This video beautifully highlights the power of calm and deliberate action in leadership-something I’ve found transformative in my own life. Taking a moment to pause before responding, especially in tense situations, has truly improved my relationships and decision-making. Such timeless wisdom is a game-changer!
I have a problem that’s not related to this video but I’m hoping that my fellow stoic seekers can help. I was at work yesterday and arrived 45mins early, and the new manager said “you’re keen, aren’t you?” And I felt like it was a backhanded comment. For context, I get to work early to prepare for my day and counter any traffic problems. I replied with “if it’s a problem, I can start turning up at 6pm.” He stumbled his words and said “it’s not a problem.” Am I imagining his comment to be negative, or was it a backhanded comment?
It’s understandable to feel uneasy about a comment like that, especially when you’re doing something positive for yourself. 🌿 Arriving early shows discipline and dedication, qualities Stoics value. Whether or not the manager's words were meant negatively, remember this: *You can’t control others’ words, only your response to them.* If the comment was backhanded, it reflects *his perception*, not your reality. You’re showing up prepared, ready to face the day-that’s commendable. Next time, you might simply smile and say, *‘I like to be ready for anything.’* Let your actions speak for themselves, and stay focused on what’s within your control: your purpose and mindset. As Epictetus said, *‘If someone speaks badly of you, don’t defend yourself. Just live in such a way that no one will believe it.’* Keep being you-you’re on the right path. 💪✨
