@@therealfarwater my first time I heard them was a year ago when a friend let me stay at his cabin by the echo trail. I woke up with their sound and it was unreal. Great video by the way. I Hope I’ll see you at the store one day.
NIce series. Our group of 3 went in from Moose the 12th of May for 6 nights last year doing a decent loop through Ensign, Jordan, Thomas, up through Kek, and out the Knife, Birch way. Yes it was very windy, and chilly. That one portage was half a river. We just lined canoes through half of it.
During those same dates we did pretty good on lakers, brookies & walleyes jumping around on some lakes just south of you. We wanted to do Knife but the wind made us change our plans.
I am also done with skiing. Last trip out was a slushy nightmare. I got that from piragis - boundarywaterscatalog.com it’s perfect for cooking over the fire!
Great vid - I need to get back to Knife. Been there twice, but it's been quite a few years since the last...funny how that works out. My permits are already booked for this year, so perhaps a 2024 trip.
There's a reason why knife is so busy, which is why I really only visit early or late season. I've never had lights-out fishing there, but I've caught plenty of quality fish and the scenery is gorgeous. The fall trip I took there in 2019 when the colors were popping was life-changing!
Isn't it awesome!?? We spent hours at that little landing with our camp chairs, a cold beverage and a snack just hanging out to avoid the wind. I will definitely be back.
Still waiting to hear from a few buddies to finalize plans, but we’ve got a permit to Moose River North. It would be hard to pass up another spring trip to LLC for lake trout.
Thanks for sharing, this is a great way to start the morning! ☕️
Haha, I love it! Cheers
Man the white throated sparrows at the beginning of the video are my favorite sound up north.
Agreed!! I noticed them as well.
Aren't they unbelievable?! I rarely get out my big camera, but the microphone came in handy this trip!

@@DRazz86 thank you!
Hard to beat a good meal of spring lake trout, and slappin the bag a bit with some good company. Good stuff buddy!
Thank you! Something about slapping the bag makes it taste better. I can't wait for the first shore lunch meal of the open water season, such a treat!

Thanks! It’s a great time to be in the wilderness! I’m heading in early again tomorrow-can’t wait to see the water conditions on Moose River and LLC!
@@therealfarwater Jealous. I have to wait 2 more weeks to head in.
@@netgraphx have a great trip!

Awesome!! Knife continues to be tough for me finding lake trout. We were lucky to find a few quality fish, but certainly not any numbers.
Ok i dont want to skiing again this spring but all the lakes here still frozing . You have a very nice pot grabbing tool

Great video. Really kicking myself for not doing my annual Algonquin trip since 2019. That fish fry made me hungry.
Thank you! It's never too late to get back out there! Algonquin is on my list of places to visit, it looks similar to the BW
Awesome, I was at the same campsite like 2 weeks later for a solo

That's a great fish, I wish it was me out there catching.
Soon the ice will recede and we’ll all be out there chasing them!!
Where are heading for this years opener.
