Why Did They Leave So Much Behind in This Abandoned Nursing Home?

  • The last post on the Facebook page for this now-abandoned rehab and nursing facility was in early 2016.

An online review from a former employee states:
“Every day brings stress, exacerbated by the shortage of employees which burdens others with additional work. The concept of work-life balance seems elusive, as you are repeatedly requested to stay overtime and sacrifice your scheduled days off. The management structure is in constant flux, resulting in a lack of stability and security. However, amidst these challenges, the long-term employees form an exceptional team, always willing to lend a hand and support you in any way they can.”
    Another one reads:
"Consistently understaffed, the situation worsens when new hires either quit abruptly or fail to show up for subsequent shifts. Trust is non-existent, as even if you're innocent, you'll likely get blamed for something and thrown under the bus. The absence of a competent management team leads to a lack of respect throughout the organization. Nurses exhibit cutthroat behavior, exploiting staff members without hesitation. The only redeeming aspect in that facility is the presence of the innocent residents, for whom I deeply empathize. What I've learned from that experience is to never subject myself to it again.”
The last review I could find about the services here was in the summer of 2020 and it read:
Flee swiftly and with urgency! It's an absolute scam! They demand upfront payment, which is reasonable, but they adamantly refuse to reimburse the unused days after a patient's demise.
The facility serviced 62 rooms with a total of 75 beds, was built in 1981, renovated in 1999.
There was a court-ordered auction for the property to be sold as is in the spring of 2022 but the action was cancelled following the sale of the property.

What a shame that is abandoned. They can use it for the homeless.🌻😊

Your idea comes from a nice place too house homeless but in reality it's a private business. Would you open a business and then say hey Everyone come and live in here if your homeless.
But if I was homeless then I would probably be happy if I found this place for some shelter.

This is a big place!! I thought the nursing home I work at is big, but this is huge. Look at the size of those resident rooms, they probably had 2 or 3 residents in each room. Big big place, stunning🥰🥰🥰 thanks guys for a good quick video🥰🥰

They probably left the wheelchairs, walkers, beds, etc and wrote them off as a business loss. What a shame. So many nursing homes and senior centers could have really benefited from those things being donated to them which is also a business write off. It would be a great place as temporary housing for homeless families with children. A charitable write off. So sad...
    Thanks for sharing Dave!

Disgraceful how much expensive equipment they left behind. At the very least the file cabinets and computers should have been removed to protect against identity theft.

It looks like quite a large facility and seems nicely appointed. The rooms look large and the dining/day/game room(s) are very big and bright. What a shame all that equipment was left behind when I know how expensive it can be when you are in need of it. How many entrances/reception areas were there? Seemed to be a couple. Really sad this place couldn't have been reused or reimagined. and what's with the china cabinets?? Wish you'd had a little more time to explore.

This looks like a high end Nursing home. So many rooms with another hall way til it becomes a maze...This could be bought and renovated as a hotel or a dormatory. But I fear it is haunted because so many older patients have died there.... It is functional but I would visit at night to see if it is truly haunted. Great explore...

Hi from Australia 🇦🇺 again . Awww such a grand old place , shame it was just left behind, nice wall units in that last room . I have worked in homes out here , it’s rewarding and depressing. Most of the oldies call them “Gods waiting room”. I won’t be going into one when my time comes I can assure you . I’m still laughing at that random Pope doll 😂 Thanks for sharing 😊

That space had a lot of positive vibe. The potential for it to be be reused makes me wonder why its abandoned like that. Maybe it has been and im just not aware. How many ppl could find shelter there?

The state came in and shut it down. Probably years of neglect and abuse. Violations of Obra too. Sad it is . I know when the one I worked in closed A lot of our residents died .

The big bed at the end of the hallway is probably a bariatric bed for grossly obese residents, although it didn’t look like a bariatric bed to me…

I'm RN 15 years in the industry, I Just recently started to get my money right" raking in 20k monthly from my 2 Jobs and investments after living paycheck to paycheck for a long while. I plan on growing my passive income and retire soon enough to follow my passion. My story & hers is proof that not matter how much you make anyone can go bankrupt when they're irresponsible with their money. I didn't get education on personal finances from my parents or in school and I learnt the tough way. I wish money management is taught in schools for the younger generation. Live within your means, budget, save, and invest!

@oliviajayden6654 I made sacrifices for the greater good. Cut down expenses, frugal living, learnt to budget, save, When done properly, investing increases wealth, piling up so much in the bank will yield only 0.1 percent! let your money work extra for you. I learnt all this with the help of a professional to guide me through the baby steps, I'm teaching my kids the same with her help.

Wow the left just about everything. All of those wheel chairs and walkers could and should be donated to people who can not afford to buy them. This looks like it was a pretty nice facility at one time. Wow there is so much stuff in this place that could be donated instead of just rotting away there.

Thanks for the video 📹 upload. I wonder if there is new planning permission on this place, maybe for a retirement high rise development like a prison come office 🏢 block design. The size of those wheelchair ♿ and beds are for very overweight people. Stay off the Sugar folks
