Just got one for my Lincoln Mark LT. Had it painted to match the truck. I installed it with the help from my 18 year old Granddaughter, hey I needed another pair of hands. Went slow while following the manual and watching the step by step videos that Paragon has on UA-cam. It took me about 3 hours. Installed as it should and works great. I bought the model with stainless steel hardware and has the locking system on it. My tailgate also locks so now the bed of my truck is a lot more secure. It surprised me the first time or two I drove the truck with it in place I wasn’t used to seeing something back there but that was short lived.
I just had a similar experience with Peragon. Four year old cover, I recently noticed that the rubber seal on the front rail had released on both sides by about a foot. Called up Peragon and they sent a replacement seal at no cost to me.
I have a Peragon on my Silverado since 2020. Its just okay, the biggest issue I have is packing my truck bed full to go on a family trip. With it all the way open in the forward position folded up you can't pack stuff up against the cover when its folded because when you go to pull the cover closed it will jam up against the stuff you have packed in the bed. So if you want to pack your bed fully you have to pack your bed with the cover closed so then you have to use something like a stick or broom handle to push your stuff all the way forward toward the cab. And if the cover is closed it makes it hard to stack items in your bed like luggage, bags lawn chairs fishing gear etc because you can't reach that far forward to stack items. Then when you get to where your going to unpack your truck, you can't open your cover because it won't fold forward because of all the stuff you have in your bed and the stuff that's packed all the way forward won't allow the cover to fold open because the cover folds inward in a downward position and all your stuff in the bed won't allow it to fold open. Hope all that makes sense, its just something I didn't think of when I bought the cover. But it's a reason why I am considering replacing mine with something else that folds upward and not inward like the Peragon. We always use my truck for family trips and packing and unpacking the bed is an issue with that cover. After 4 years some of my seals are coming loose I was told by customer support I could glue them or buy new ones. Good way to stand behind your product.
I bought the Peragon for my 2013 Ford F150 short box in 2013 and got great service from it for over 7 years. As it aged the rubber between the panels needs some maintenance (apply some spray silicon) to keep it more water-tight. It worked pretty well. I had some leakage with the front bulkhead rubber that got weathered. I replace that pretty easily and the box, while not completely water-tight did keep water from pouring into the bed. Nothing inside ever got soaked. I had great service from that top and when I recently purchased a new F150 I went right back to Peragon. The price has increased in 7 years, but still cheaper and much more functional then most other lids...plus, you can have the tip completely out of the truck in three minutes leaving you the entire bed available to haul. I bought the new Peragon because I didn't know the old top would have fit my truck!! I would recommend this top over the roller (can) tops for ease of installation and maintenance; and the weight of this top is minimal. Installation is simple and quick. If you need water-proof you'll need the once piece fiberglass top which is bulky and heavy. Great customer service from the company - except that during Covid I had to wait several weeks for the new top -- but well worth the wait.
Got a Peragon for my last truck, loved it. Got a new truck a few years ago, bought another Peragon cover. Was having some issue with the gas shocks up front, they sent me two new ones at no cost (just finished replacing them). Also tore the strap, it was my fault completely and I asked them if I could buy a new strap. They just mailed me a new one at no cost. I can't say enough good things about Peragon covers, and about their customer support!

Just installed mine and the hardest part by was definitely lining everything up right. The fact that I started late vin the day and had to finish it in the dark with a flashlight might have to something to do with it 😁. Anyway I think it's the best folding cover out there. I'm very happy with it

Ordered Gator FX quad fold and came in with bent rail. Meanwhile, Peragon sent me promotion with free platinum package upgrade, which worth $199. Gator customer service is OK, agree to send me new rails, but I returned it so I can have the Peragon. I just realized Gator is made by Bakflip, which is the brand I’ll avoid at all cost.
I've been researching and came across Peragon, and have been impressed. Seeing The Bear with one sealed the deal. Already from my interactions with the company I can tell they are amazing, and the installation assistance they provide seems incredible too.
These guys are from western Wisconsin....about 20 miles from where I live. Western and northern WI folks will treat you right.......ALWAYS. Going to buy one myself here shortly.
That’s how it was with Smith & Wesson. I had an M&P .40C, which was a compact pistol. Brand new, it comes with two magazines. One has a pinky extension, the other does not. I hated the magazine without the pinky extension since the one with the extension felt great in my hand. I called them up, and the dude who answered was like, “Yehllow!” sounding like he was eating a sandwich, or something 🤣 I told him I’d like to order a pinky extension for my mag and he fumbled around looking for a pen and paper asking for my address. I gave it him and he just said, “Alright man! It’ll be in your mailbox in a few days!” No charge… Awesome service.
I'm glad I stumbled onto your video. I just got one and I love it. Installed it last weekend and it's better than what I expected. I had been researching folding covers for a long time and I had it narrowed down to a couple of covers before I saw the Peragon. Once I saw it, there was no question I was getting it. I think it's the best looking cover out there, the most secure and I like that it takes up minimal room and you can remove it completely without any trouble. It's very unique and I haven't seen anyone else that has one. I've had other covers and compared to them it was a little more of a pain to install but it still wasn't that bad. You just have to take your time and line things up right if you wanted to work properly. This is great to hear that yours has done so well and that the customer support did that for you. Great cover, great American company. 🇺🇸
I have a Steffens Automotive (Fold a Cover). It's more expensive, but I LOVE my hidden toolbox in the front that's lockable. And it's easy to access due to the front of the cover where the toolbox is folding towards the tailgate. It's a good design, but has some cheap nylon straps that you have to eventually replace when the wear out that help hold the bed cover in it's fully opened position.
IN 2005, I put a Peragon bed cover on my 2005 crew cab F-250 with 8' bed. It was ok for a few years but I was never completely happy with it. I spent a lot of time adjusting and tweaking it, but I could see it vibrating from my rearview mirror. It eventually broke and I had to replace one of the panels, similar to what you did. Unfortunately, it looked bad because the black paint had gone from shiny to flat, and the new panel was shiny. But it worked for another year or so before failing again. I got lucky and found a "demonstrator" from DiamondBack for a couple hundred less than another Peragon would have cost. NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE. The DiamondBack is MUCH more robust and can hold several hundred pounds on the cover. Never had any issues with the DiamondBack. I sold the truck in 2016 and the bed cover looked as good as when it was new, the truck looked good too.

You won't regret it. I did end up selling my truck in December so that's going to be the last update on that but for the money I was really happy with it.

I don't care for any of those hard covers, ESPECIALLY the fiberglass ones. However, I must say that THIS is what customer service should be like across the board. A simple part breaks but it can easily be replaced by the consumer? Send them a new one and keep the customer happy. Also, the replacement probably came with nuts and bolts because they're easier to install than rivets. Ball joints used to be riveted on many vehicles but their replacements come with nuts and bolts. I'd bet that if you ordered a new tonneau for your truck today, it would still have rivets from the factory.
I was thinking that in manufacturing of the units its quicker and cost effective to rivot them. As an after market replacement goes you get nut and bolt as your beyond the manufacturing cost then.
Great review and sounds like this company has a super customer service department. I love when a company backs their goods. I purchased a different brand tonneau cover that supposedly slides but it went tits-up in less than 45 days and no replacement or fix. So I spent over a grand for junk. As you said, there's no perfect tonneau cover but I epected more than a piece of junk. I won't go to E-trailer again for products. Thanks again for the video. 👍🏽🙂 5/19/22

I was in the same situation for a long time. I was narrowing down my choices and researching all kinds of covers. I had it narrowed down to about 3 or 4 when I found the Peragon. As soon as I saw it, my decision was made though. I'm very pleased with my decision, it looks amazing and works great.
I had this exact same thing happen- exact same part broke off from the same position. Yes they sent the new roller part but they told me i had to rivet it back on. So i bought a rivet gun and rivets and am going outside to try to fix it now. Your video should be very helpful since Peragon does not have a video on replacing this failed part- which seems to happen more than you would think. Thank you.

I don't own a truck, but I would surely buy their product without hesitation. I do know plenty of people that do own a pickup, and I will make sure they give this fantastic company their consideration. As for their customer service taking care of you, I give 11/10!
Hey Bear that was Good on them and Good on you also for showing your snout on television with a Free Advertisement~!! I can see where that cover would be extra handy for Bears like you that travel all over the place and wants to keep things secure on the road. Pocket knife wouldn't help crooks with this type cover cause fabric covers are a piece of cake to molest~! Plus no one can see your loot inside. Good video~!
@@setunedouche I don't think you'll be disappointed, they are great. I looked around a long time before I found Peragon. It really is unique. The only advice I have for you is, give yourself plenty of time when you install. Take your time when it comes to installing the rails and lining them up, that's the key to everything. Don't rush. I did it by myself and I started late in the day so I ended up finishing in the dark and I had to go back and do a couple things over. I don't know what kind of truck you have but I have an F-150 and the instructions were pretty good, but there was one thing that I disagree with. I got the Platinum package so it came with the quick clamps, I didn't have to drill anything. And told me to angle the clamps upward. I didn't think it made any sense when I read that but I went ahead and did it. I wish I would have trusted my instincts because I had to go back and undo that. When I angle them up it ended up making the rails angle upward too high. Other than that, the instructions are very clear and easy and they give you video references too. I watch a guy doing install video when I decided to purchase this anyway, so I had an idea of what to expect. Got mine done right in time, because I'm going camping this coming weekend and I wasn't feeling like putting my old soft cover back on. Anyway good luck, I know you'll like it

Couple things. So if your riding around all day in the sun and you need to open it loading material or whatever. Cover will be hot the touch? Second, does it with stand weight, like if needed could disburse x amount of weight on it like the brands claim?
I'd consider painting some white Flex Seal on it, for reducing heat....it would match your truck a bit better too. Not a fanboy of the stuff, but it should cut the heat significantly. Nice setup though, I like it.

And that part is thought out by sending proper hardware to easily install the replacement part. A company could send the replacement part without the hardware and just said, "Good luck."
First off great CS by that company. I have the Bak Flip on my 16 Ram which has served me well to date. I have question Mr Bear. From the video it accordions into the bed If you have the bed full of stuff, how does it not hit the cargo? Shine on Sir.

Looked at this one originally, but at the time I saw too many negative reviews about it leaking. Went with the Truxedo Sentry CT, 2 years and all is still good. If I could do it again, I wouldn't buy either one, the side rails are a pain and really limit your loads, no matter the brand or model.
@@---tx9xx As a side note. We still have the Truxedo Sentry CT. It's held up well enough. Negatives would be blood blisters when unrolling if not paying attention. Poor engineering on the rubber end caps that sit in the rails, they come loose and we had to hammer them back down to keep them from getting in the way.
I know it is not water tight, (no bed cover is 100% water tight) how much does it leak and is there a lot of noise when going down the road at hwy speeds (rattling..etc)? I have it narrowed down to Peragon or a Gator FX3 trifold.
hey, been considering this cover since i got my truck a year ago. Have you had to open it in the winter? I don't see myself needing to much either but was wondering how it was in the winter with dropping snow and or ice in the bed, folding during the winter, etc. Just looking for experiences/thoughts while i continue to mull over this lol. Ditto and also the introduction is way down on the VU Meter and can hardly be heard.

Future reference. You use a drill bit that's about the same size the rivet hole is to get the it out.

I was in the same situation for a long time. I was narrowing down my choices and researching all kinds of covers. I had it narrowed down to about 3 or 4 when I found the Peragon. As soon as I saw it, my decision was made though. I'm very pleased with my decision, it looks amazing and works great.

I had this exact same thing happen- exact same part broke off from the same position. Yes they sent the new roller part but they told me i had to rivet it back on. So i bought a rivet gun and rivets and am going outside to try to fix it now. Your video should be very helpful since Peragon does not have a video on replacing this failed part- which seems to happen more than you would think. Thank you.

I don't own a truck, but I would surely buy their product without hesitation. I do know plenty of people that do own a pickup, and I will make sure they give this fantastic company their consideration. As for their customer service taking care of you, I give 11/10!

I can see where that cover would be extra handy for Bears like you that travel all over the place and wants to keep things secure on the road. Pocket knife wouldn't help crooks with this type cover cause fabric covers are a piece of cake to molest~! Plus no one can see your loot inside. Good video~!

@@setunedouche I don't think you'll be disappointed, they are great. I looked around a long time before I found Peragon. It really is unique. The only advice I have for you is, give yourself plenty of time when you install. Take your time when it comes to installing the rails and lining them up, that's the key to everything. Don't rush. I did it by myself and I started late in the day so I ended up finishing in the dark and I had to go back and do a couple things over. I don't know what kind of truck you have but I have an F-150 and the instructions were pretty good, but there was one thing that I disagree with. I got the Platinum package so it came with the quick clamps, I didn't have to drill anything. And told me to angle the clamps upward. I didn't think it made any sense when I read that but I went ahead and did it. I wish I would have trusted my instincts because I had to go back and undo that. When I angle them up it ended up making the rails angle upward too high. Other than that, the instructions are very clear and easy and they give you video references too. I watch a guy doing install video when I decided to purchase this anyway, so I had an idea of what to expect. Got mine done right in time, because I'm going camping this coming weekend and I wasn't feeling like putting my old soft cover back on. Anyway good luck, I know you'll like it

Couple things. So if your riding around all day in the sun and you need to open it loading material or whatever. Cover will be hot the touch? Second, does it with stand weight, like if needed could disburse x amount of weight on it like the brands claim?
I'd consider painting some white Flex Seal on it, for reducing heat....it would match your truck a bit better too. Not a fanboy of the stuff, but it should cut the heat significantly. Nice setup though, I like it.

And that part is thought out by sending proper hardware to easily install the replacement part. A company could send the replacement part without the hardware and just said, "Good luck."

First off great CS by that company. I have the Bak Flip on my 16 Ram which has served me well to date. I have question Mr Bear. From the video it accordions into the bed If you have the bed full of stuff, how does it not hit the cargo? Shine on Sir.
If the stuff in the bed is in the space where it folds, the last foot of the bed, it will be in the way.

Looked at this one originally, but at the time I saw too many negative reviews about it leaking. Went with the Truxedo Sentry CT, 2 years and all is still good. If I could do it again, I wouldn't buy either one, the side rails are a pain and really limit your loads, no matter the brand or model.
How many inches did the side rails constrict you by protruding in on both sides?

@@---tx9xx As a side note. We still have the Truxedo Sentry CT. It's held up well enough. Negatives would be blood blisters when unrolling if not paying attention. Poor engineering on the rubber end caps that sit in the rails, they come loose and we had to hammer them back down to keep them from getting in the way.
I have a solid cover on my truck. its great... until you have to take it off. It's a 2 person job just due to the size of it.
What about the cover rattling during normal paved road driving and off-road?

I know it is not water tight, (no bed cover is 100% water tight) how much does it leak and is there a lot of noise when going down the road at hwy speeds (rattling..etc)? I have it narrowed down to Peragon or a Gator FX3 trifold.

hey, been considering this cover since i got my truck a year ago. Have you had to open it in the winter? I don't see myself needing to much either but was wondering how it was in the winter with dropping snow and or ice in the bed, folding during the winter, etc. Just looking for experiences/thoughts while i continue to mull over this lol.
