Ever wonder if Scotty will ever run out of ideas for his videos?
@@peterl6095 never!
Dear sir I a mechanic students which similar field as you sir but you are professional master mechanic ,I have a question if a car main internal engine timing belt just reached 5 years limit to change the new internal timing belt ,will it effects the Charing system of no enough Charing to the car battery life if the internal timing belt is not in time change to new internal timing belt engine .💖😇😇
***************************************************** stop adding background music *****************************************************************
that's a nice change of tone but you forgot to mention that back and mid engine cars are "a money pit"!!!
If you listen real closely
*you can hear scotty moving his hands*
Scotty, I wish you’d make some exams for us at the end of every month.
Oh No not back to school again.!!!!🤣😅😆😄😃😀😂😂🤣🤣😅😆🤣🤣👍
How about if you get an A for watching the video.
Noooooo lmao
He's right. It'd be swell to demonstrate in some way how much someone can learn and use from a good teacher.
Scotty cannot help but teach. He draws attention to important information that builds as one watches. He explains relationships that impact our reality in ways even I can understand.
It's like Judge Judy for old guys like me.
Actually, after every video, and the next video would feature the answer to previous one.
This is the evolution of scottys channel and I love it
love the vids and the production and the narration, KEEP IT COMIN SCOTTY
Dude, honestly, if Scotty does all the production on his own, he's got more energy than half the slobs on here, myself included😝
These videos and video layout is so relaxing please do more like this!
Scotty: MidEngine cars have sky high price tags.
Toyota Mr2: Am I a joke to you?
Exactly. Then there's the homemade electric cars, with the more affordable chemistry batteries mounted in the middle, to have mid-engine characteristics. Using Lithium-Ion batteries can make your project as expensive as a supercar, but you can start out with the heavier, less energy dense Lead-Acid or Li-Fe batteries.
In Europe fiat x19 mg tf lanca beta monticarlo and MR2. All transverse layout in the mid.
mr2s are generally 7500 dollar plus in Europe, 10 000 dollars plus in Russia and pretty much non existent in Norway where I live.
Lotus Emira: My life is a joke
That's why didn't came with more than a 4 cyl and costed the double of a Mustang from the same era with a V8...
In addition to the rear-mid, which was highlighted in the video, there's also front-mid placement like 2nd to 7th Gen Corvettes, the Supra, the Jaguar E-type and most pre-WW2 sports cars. Even old Previa minivans were mid-engined.
We can't thank you enough for all of your help over the years Scotty!
Hey! I really REALLY enjoy this type of video. Goodjob from the editing to the voice and ext
hello and thank you!
Anybody else find these videos relaxing 😆
For sure 😂
And educational! 🧠
Aye
Yes, it's his tone, and his cadence, that keeps you mesmerized and relaxed!

Absolutely ❤️
Keep these coming Scotty this was awesome and Informative 🤘.
WOW, Scotty is making some high end videos. This is AMAZING!! Thank you!
Glad to see you’re doing more of these type of videos, Scotty. Very enjoyable.
Scotty I love the production Quality of these Videos!!! Outstanding work sir!!!!
Woaaaah scotty went professional!
He often does this. Did one on Honda. Another on Toyoda.
Not only a skilled, erudite, and likeable automotive technician (AKA automobile mechanic,) and former TV personality but also the awardee of a master's degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign! Why am I not surprised. Glad to see you followed your heart pursuing a career doing what you enjoy. We all have benefited as a result. Thanks Scotty!
I had simply been told that engines in back in a race car were to prevent engulfing the driver in flames if the engine caught on fire.
This video you've done here is monumental, historic, educational, with fantastic eye candy.
I know It's always going to be a pleasure and a privilege to stop by yet this was above and beyond the expectation.
Interesting vid. Never checked into this info before, very cool.
Great video Scotty! I love the fact that you started doing these type of videos.
Scotty, I have been a subscriber for a "while". Your videos just keep getting better. There is a lot of technical stuff that would give everyone a "deer in the headlights" look. Thank you for keeping things on a level of reality I can deal with. With over 40 years of experience in multiple types of vehicles and engine placements, your descriptions are in general spot on. I may see a flaw in one or some other part of what you do, but your base of information is so solid, I chalk it up to different experience and driving styles. Keep up the feet on the ground work you do. More people could use your videos to learn enough to ask the real questions they need answered at the dealership. Personally, I like cars and pickups old enough I can understand the design concept ... Teslas are pretty, but will keep me in my 2000 Crown Vic and a 2000 3/4 or full ton ton I am eyeing. The fact I can cash them out !Might! be part of it, as well. I am old school, not because I like to be behind the times, but because I understand how it works.
Thank you again for your insightful information.
Great content Scotty. Appreciate the effort that goes into these. Thanks.
Excellent video Scotty! I always learn something new watching your channel.
Hey Scotty I just bought a Tacoma for off-roading 90k miles! 5000$! Thanks to you I have a truck that will last forever!
Nice deal 👍
good find!
fckng steal! haha wtfff LOL.. where????
@@McDzy < - - - What he said
You got a great deal! Where I live, a Tacoma for $5k would have twice the mileage, easily. Have fun off-roading!

Thanks for the Information 👍🏾
Just what i was looking for Scott, merci!
These videos are awesome Scotty! Learning a lot from this!
You probably think Yahoo presents unbiased news, too, instead of hundreds of editorial comments.
Good information. Thank you for sharing
Great review on this topic. Best yet.
Great video presentation! 👨🔧
Great video scotty very informative and easy to understand 👍
Wow what a different video from what I normally see of you Scotty! I love it.
Beautifully explained - the sort of video that can be shown to pretty much anyone to demystify engine placement. :) Nicely done Scotty.
Well done , great segment
Excellent video. Thank you.
Excellent video production
Good video overall!
* Point of correction to comment @ 4:23 : The VW Beetle was actually front-engine from 1998 to 2011. (Not from 1938 to 2011 as stated).
* Additional point of clarification: Some of the vehicles shown during each engine placement section do not have that engine placement.
Great video Scotty!!!
Love the quality made video. Keep it up
Another great video Scotty. thank you
I love the new format. Plz to keep it comming.
Excellent video, Mr. Kilmer. It's very educational and production quality is documentary-tier.
Great Video ! Bravo Scotty !
A wonderful, easily understood presentation.
This is a subject I have given a lot of thought and I agree 100% with Scotty!

I love my 911 (‘87) setup. Thanks for the video.
Another great video.
Thank you for the lesson scotty 👍👍
excellent narration
Keep 'em coming!
Another great video today
Gosh Scotty that was so interesting & relaxing..TY..Luved it..
scott failed to mention... engine in the back will push against the chassis in head to head collision wherein the engine being in the front will just slam to the other vehicle directly releasing all of its energy directly and not through the passenger cabin.
Awesome video!
Scotty your videos are always good, nowadays videos talk all this mambo jumbo that I cant understand, but your videos are always clear and informative
Keep up the good work
The new professional video look is impressive. I kinda liked the driveway videos that you appeared in with the waving arms and all better though. I hope you still make appearances.
These videos are awesome.
Evening! Love the content
evening and thank you!
What a great video!!! Keep it up scotty!!!
Excellent what else can I say keep up the good work
i like the new infotainment format :)
Sweet video
I didn't learn anything new but it was so well done I enjoyed it, I'm sure this has accomplished your goal of education, kudos
Love the new intro Scotty!!
Once again Scotty, love watching and learning about cars. Wish I was watching when you talked about the Nissan transmission issue.
Jeff. Ya my granddaughter just traded her Nissan 2012 in for a much newer. Honda.
Thank you Scotty.
Love your videos Scotty! Beam me up!
Very nice video you forgot about the mid engine Toyota previa mini-van though haha
Thank you professor Scotty
Thank you Scotty!
LOL 1980's Pontiac had the mid engine Fiero, both in an inline 4 and V6. and not to forget the Toyota MR2 it was mid engined.
I had a 1965 Corvair Corsa convertible years ago when I was in the USAF. 140hp with 4 single barrel carbs and progressive linkage. Very fast and I was beating 327 Chevys in drags. I sold it for 150 bucks in 1969. Stupid me. Now worth thousands.
So to have the perfect weight and dynamics I'll just strap a second engine above the rear wheels in the bed of my pickup !
Or buy a Tesla, one engine in the front, one or two in the back !
That would be pretty awesome
@@aesma2522 Tesla’s are crap
The Best Engine Ever is the 1.8 Liter 94 Celica / Corolla engine and Why? I have over 340,000 mile on my 94' Celica to prove it that's why. Keep pumping out your GREAT videos Scotty! You are the BEST!
This presentation was very soothing. Nothing I didnt already know, but a very well edited video, Perhaps taking a page from that "other" channel you were associated with?
0:12 No sales person is ever going mention or know anything about engine placement. It's not exactly an "option". It's just the way the car is.
99% of consumers don't care anyway.
Great video Scotty! Have you ever hear of front mid-engine before? They also have a near 50-50 weight balance as well. I think a few car models have them. Could be another possible engine placement to know about as well...
The Shelby Cobra had the engine placed behind the front wheels. The driver and passenger sat well to the rear in that car. I once read that the Cobra had a 51/49 weight split.
Thanks Scotty. Nice job everyone.
Thanks Scotty! Love these informative and educational videos! Good job, well done! Better than any history channel!
Outstanding
Nice video
Scotty, you must've been thinking about Toyota when you said some of those cars like the Mustang were rear engine cars. I was like, "What in the world?"
he said that there is an error in the six minute mark, he meant rear wheel drive cars.
Scotty, I really enjoy your videos. Most of the car repair radio shows and podcasts around here are just advertising. Love your new logo merch. Might have to get a new hoodie.
hello and thank you!
Love to have an NSX from any year. My favorite is the old black over white paint.
986 Porsche is my favorite. Love mine and how it handles.
Love the cayman layout
I'm disappointed scotty, you forgot the most affordable mid engine car, the Toyota mr2. Yes toyota. Lol
I got mine in 1995 (one of the last 4 available for purchase in the US) and while it was a pretty big price tag for me at the time, it was nowhere near as pricey as those exotics that made the video. It was my daily driver from then all the way up until I bought my Tundra in 2009. It needs some TLC, but I will never give up that car.
@@tombworld9012 Nice. I still have my 85. I wish I could say the same but I'm not the first owner.
Wish Toyota would make a new version of that car.......
@@FeralPlumber They did for a few years with the Spyder, but as I heard it they forgot what made the MR-2 a great sports car and cheaped out on everything but the body style.
I'd love to listen to Scotty ready audiobooks.
