I am an officer in the merchant navy. I have travelled around the globe more times than I can count, and still I love the country of my birth; Wales. Nowhere on earth compares to the sheer beauty and culture, nowhere have I felt such a feeling of belonging. And I know that wherever I may finally rest my head, I shall forevever lay my heart in Wales.
An extraordinarily beautiful song about an extraordinarily beautiful country. As a Sicilian-American, I visited Wales twice, the second time for over a month. The country took my heart; the people won my affection; the poetic, magical language of Myrddin Willt engaged my imagination. I felt close to creation and God. Mae Cymru yn wir wlad sanctaidd a fy meddwl ac enaid yn cael eu bendithio i wedi bod yno. Dduw bendithia a hir yn byw Cymru, y Cymry a'r iaith Gymraeg hudol. O brawd Sicilian-Americanaidd.
I can still smell the grass! running down the mountain through the ferns that were so tall above my head. memories that will stay in my mind forever! thanks to my welsh mam I am one of them =also God
if you are welsh you know it in every bone...when you are there you are home...i breathe the air and am immediately home. there is simply nowhere more beautiful.
I'm American, but I have been to Wales once (foreign exchange trip to Aberystwyth), and I have missed it ever since. Maybe someday, if I can brave the red tape. . .
When I look into the history books it really saddens me to see how badly the Celts (Welsh, Scottish, or Irish) and my people of England have got on, seeing as we share the most beautiful set of islands on earth, and share a gorgeous and glorious history. We would have been and still would beso much greater if we united not by force, but out of friendship in my opinion.
-i was born and bred in wales, i am a proper little welsh girl and tis video and th emusic proves how good&beautiful wales is'i love my country and im 100% pruod to be welsh and f#'k the haters ♥♥♥♥
i miss wales, every year i come over to spend ten days off freedom, drinking, nature and friendly people, i live here in brussels(belgium) i meet some welsh people at he airport, where i work, so they make me jealous
I like Wales also - we spend our holiday there - in North-Wales for 3 weeks and this year 4 weeks in South-Wales. It´s also "our" Wales and we like the Song of DAVID ALEXANDER "MY WALES" Greetings from Germany.
In the next few years, the people of Scotland will vote for their independence and they will get it. They will be a free independent country, proud of their heritage and looking forward to their future..... I only hope and pray that the people of Wales will see this as an example of what they can achieve. Population and geographical size does not determine if a country can be independent or not. INDEPENDENCE for Scotland & Wales! Long May our countries Prosper :)
My father spent a lot of time working in Cwm pennant (a builder) and tells me there is an old saying which goes "why did God make Cwm Pennant so beautiful and the life of the shepherd so short?" I live in Ontario now but was born and brought up on the Llyn Peninsula North Wales for 30years before moving to Milnrow North of Manchester which was also a great place to live. There are nice and horrible people EVERYWHERE !
sut mae, from nothern new york.i grew up in a welsh settled area in the us.proud of our heritage.i have a small piece of dirt from wales it is the thing i treasure the most.an some is with my dad.someday i'll be there to feel it for real.(and i sit in the canyon with my back to the sea, theres a blood red dragon on a sea of green, calling me back)
like most people, until three years ago I had no idea where my ancestors came from. I started tracing my family roots and found my mothers side came from wales, that family goes back to the village of Hanmer, where my 16th great grandmother, Margret Hanmer married Owain Glyndwr in st chads parish in aprox 1385. I just returned from a trip that took me to the home countries of three of my grandparents. I spent time with my Burnett cousins in Bancory Scotland, My irish side In Waterford Ireland, and my Hanmer/Hammer cousins in Hanmer wales. Standing in St Chads Parish where many of my ancestors attended and were laid to rest on the grounds was the highlight of my trip. I had dinner with five of my welsh cousins and their families was, well words can not describe the feelings I had. Donald Burnett
I am a Canadian and I have fallen in love with Wales. I feel the wind that brings me to Wales and I really want to live there one day. It is such a beautiful and quiet country and I can't wait to call it my home.
There's a Rhondda boy sitting here in Denmark crying his sodding eyes out, and realising " you can take the boy out of the valleys.....but you can't take the Valleys out of the boy "........diolch

i really enjoyed this thanks for posting it, made the heart of a welshman living in perth western australia very warm and fuzzy for wales. I have been in australia 10 years and back to wales for the last 3 on the trot and each time it gets harder to leave my home as it will always be
I know Toronto having visited several times. Also Ottowa, Vancouver et al. Your country is extraordinary in it's beauty and diversity, so your comments are so well received. Thank you. JFW
I've said it once and I'll say it again, this video knockes the buggery out of me. here i am in Denmark and can't get home again for Xmas and new year. Half a bottle of vodka and a liter or tomato juice and all i need is youtube and some head phones...... the Mrs is looking at me funny like init ( she's never seen me with tears in my eyes before ! ) God bless Wales, Fe godwn ni eto, Cymru am byth ( also "Gud bevare Danmark " God protect Denmarc ) best wishes from Jute freinds to all Celts
Hiraeth, a longing or homesickness "It is difficult to define hiraeth, but to me it means the consciousness of man being out of his home area and that which is dear to him. That is why it can be felt even among a host of peoples amidst nature's beauty; like a Christian yearning for heaven." --D. Martyn Lloyd Jones
Nearly as beutiful as Scotland! NEARLY..... Beautiful song and the Gower is one of the most parts of Wales. I'm Welsh on my Father's side,Scot on my Mum's. I was born and mostly brought up in Scotland(Glasgow and Dumfries),but i can still feel the call of the Welsh Valleys in my Blood. I love Wales and i love the Welsh. Land of my Fathers.
In fact the Welsh came from Spain and Portugal- that's why we're darker than many other Celts. Do visit Galicia and Minho areas. Wales is stunning when the sun shines, and if it weren't for the rain it wouldn't be so green and beautiful, and we probably wouldn't appreciate the sun so much.
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was without form and void,On the seventh day God rests from the task of completing the heavens and the earth. And the Lord said " Well I've practised enough " so he created Wales and hallowed it
@PassMeTheWhiskey Wales is a magical place..much too dear a place to make a generalisation of, its something deep within many peoples' hearts.. to be welsh is to be truly proud
Coming to see Wales this summer! My husband's Thomas family ancestors in Glyneath, Glamorganshire to West Pittston, Pennsylvania. But he's also a descendant of Sir John Perrot on another line (Brownings of West Virginia).
Why do the Welsh like to retire to other climes? Because whilst Wales is beautiful, it rains almost every week, sometimes for days and days... then there is the Wind... that biting driving wind that comes in from the sea. The price of fish is a funny old thing. Somehow perhaps, being Welsh is a thought that travels well, after all, the Celts came first from central Europe, and before that from India. Ah well, there we are then. Beatiful song and pictures, thanks for posting.
When God made Britain he made Wales, a beautiful, rugged landscape with picture postcard beaches and hills. So to make it a bit fairer on the rest of Britain he made something else to compensate it......The Welsh.
i was born in wales and my parents were born here, i'd love to think my blood line went all the way to the early kelts that settled here but i'll never know. im 100% welsh even if im not 100% welsh
I am privileged to live there. Wales is the absolute best Country in the U.K. They have everything but most importantly the people are fantastic.
I am an officer in the merchant navy. I have travelled around the globe more times than I can count, and still I love the country of my birth; Wales. LOVE WALES 😢💜👍
Thank you. Yes, Wales suppresses ambition. Who wants to 'get on yer bike' and travel for a job when we live amongst such natural beauty.
