@@WonderfulWorldReptiles how did you treat the pieces of bark u found outside? I was thinkin about freezing some....are pest not that big of a deal with snakes? Im a new boa owner and so sketched out about what plants(fertilizers) i use and where i get them from.
@@NumbDiggerlmao All I do is spray them good with a hose and let them sit in the sun to dry. The woods where I collect stuff like that is a place where I know there have never been chemicals used. But even if I didn’t wash it off at all, there’s nothing on that wood that would harm a snake.
the philodendron looks cool in there until we pick it up! will we get a new boa with it?? :P Just kidding it will give nice and happy energy from us to the new snake:)
😀 I've been waiting for you to see that. I didn't think you'd mind too much. Actually that phildendron looks so good in there that I practically designed the whole thing around it.
It really depends on the light. My experience has been that the only way to keep moss alive is to keep it under very bright light. But it also does need to stay a little moist. Both of those things are really hard to do in a large enclosure. Plus, the heat for a snake makes it difficult to keep it moist. So at this point the moss in this enclosure is basically a carpet of dead moss. But, Ray doesn’t seem to mind and the isopods like it, so I’ve left it that way for now.
@@WonderfulWorldReptiles do you do any special process for sterilizing/prepping them to be used with the animal? People have told me to boil or bake branches but there is no way they would fit in my oven for the size I need. Thank you for the response also!
@@murderedmax8292 All I do is give them a quick spray down with a hose and let them dry in the sun for a while. I use wood, leaves, and moss that I collect in the woods all the time and never sterilize any of it. I’ve done that for years and have never had any harm come from it. I actually have a salamander that lives in my dart frog vivarium who hitchhiked on some moss. He’s lived in there now for a couple of years. I’m glad I didn’t boil him. It’s all bioactive.
I hope your wife and son weren’t too upset! The vivarium was beautiful so maybe that made up for it!! 😃
😀
Absolutely love it ❤❤❤🐍
Thank you.😊
Great video beautiful enclosure ❤
Thank you very much. Ray really loves it. He's grown quite a bit. I'm going to be doing an update video on him soon.
Love the build
😊 Thanks
Very cool and well done build!
Thank you so much.

Great build. gave me some good ideas thanks :)
Thanks. I’m glad it was helpful. I have a video coming on Monday unboxing the boa that will live in this enclosure.
Looks great
Thank you very much. He’s killed some of the plants, but so far Ray is loving it.
@@WonderfulWorldReptiles Not surprised. I am waiting on a Tarahumara boa, and I fully expect him to kill many plants in his enclosure.

Do you need to change the moss once in a while, or does it stay good as long you keep it moist?

Never mind I see you did an update
😀
Where did you get the branches? Looks great btw
Thank you. I just go up into the woods and collect fallen branches and stuff like that.

@@WonderfulWorldReptiles okay perfect that is great to know. Happy I found your channel will definitely be continuing to watch. Have a great day!
@@murderedmax8292 Thanks
Cool build I’ll do something very similar for my boa in a year or two. Do you have any updates? Did you get a Boa yet?
Thanks. Yes, he’s doing great. He just finished having a perfect shed this evening.
