I always play my records when getting ready to go out and this record always reminds of the time I was getting ready to go on a date 20th-December1981. My then girlfriend now bride have been married 39 years now.
Reminds me of someone special way back then too, although -sadly - our pathways went a different way to yours. I often wonder what she's doing now, although she was 12 years older than me! Congratulations. 👍🏻🥂
I knew Kevin Godley in the 1970s, I used to work for his dad. Shudehill, Manchester UK. I know his dad was proud of 'Rubber Bullets'. Clearly the lads had a great sense of humour.
I was freaking out when I found this song WEDDING BELL & CRY by GODLEY & CREAM. I just love GODLEYS voice. I have played both songs on repeat since I found them. Thanks to UA-cam they had both on there playlist.
These guys were such a real revelation and they were so far ahead for the 1980s as well. I just love Godlly & Creme. The very first time I heard them, it was in 1986 and I was only 18. I was sitting in a dark room with a close friend of mine who introduced me to smoking hash. It’s only a few months later that he had committed suicide at the age of 27. I Just fell in love with the song Under my Thumb. It was very psychedelic, for that time period, but it was surly more of a low key Soft Pop Rock music group from the New Wave trend. I always think of that friend of mine. May he Rest In Peace after 36 years. Thank you for this magnificent presentation. Johnny, Montréal, Canada 🇨🇦.
Well straight's the wrong word (although in this case they are) because a lot of gay men are masculine as well but I know what you mean. Funny good video and suits the song spot on.
@@NickSBailey Why was straight the wrong word? It seemed to describe the video perfectly , Your right about masculinity being a characteristic not jut found in hetrosexual men . There are various actors who have been the epitome of manliness but secretly (at a time not accepted) being gay.
But it rings so true for me. A long established relationship with an older woman had soured and she took me for granted. She spoke to me as if I was little more than dirt and still expected me to marry her. I kept saying to her that she didn't own me, but she didn't listen. This song described her intentions to the letter.
Godley and Creme's songs seriously remind me of good times in the 1980's. Especially the summer holidays. My dad bought the cassette tape "Changing Faces" and used to play it regularly on the car stereo during our vacations.
GodleyCreme capture the 1960's vibe with current trend of the time. Excellent vieos as usual but they had creative control on that too. Lasts the test of time as does their distinctive talent.
I like Kevin Godley's intelligent lyrics but I also get the impression that he's quite humorous and doesn't really take himself too seriously (never a bad sign).
This was part of the Live Aid videocassette, where all the artists involved in Band Aid chose one of their videoclips to be put in. Watched it over and over, like 100 times between '85 and '90. And then never again. This is my first time in 30 odd years, UA-cam is great for this kind of stuff
I have always loved G&C, but i remember when i first heard this song, the unalloyed joy that they had gone back to pure pop again, after the travails of the Freeze Frame album.
...as well as "L" and Consequences, etc... which is how I was introduced to them... I didn't even know they were part of 10cc!! ...and I actually have never heard this "crap" before now!... But I still listen to those early LP's!!!
BUT there was great talent in the 60s & 70swasn't there? without it, there wouldn't be anything visual to laugh at, I believe this was meant as a tribute & not a bad one for a white group, I sense cream felt the song itself was more important than the 80s music video
Godley and creame wedding bells remember hearing this song classic music from the eighties bring it all back again so we can be happy again and not sad anymore good times back then
Maio 2024, 33 anos e aqui estou, assistindo o clipe, fazendo as dancinhas e mostrando pra minha filha de 8 anos 😂😂❤ eu com 10 anos passava as tardes assistindo no DVD BAND AID 1984
❤😂 i love this song its so relaxing i dont normanly like classical music but this i really like and have some of his music if anyone else likes his music please comment back
This early 80s love song was released by Kevin godley and lol creme in very late '81 December 1981 Kevin godley and lol creme were members of the legendary band 10cc
Hi Kevin godley you are a handsome man. You have a nice singing voice. ♥️...I like the theme to this song. marriage is a beautiful thing, when you choose that person to spend the rest of your life with.its no bed of roses marriage. It's a risk. Sometimes we just take what we're given.xxx
This one's a gem, as is Under Your Thumb. What a voice Kevin Godley has.
Such an underrated singer.

Beautiful story... I have a similar story of meeting my wife in 89' (with our song "Head Over Heals.")
Imagine if 10cc had stayed together. My god that would have been one super group. Brilliant
My 2nd birthday 🎉🎉🎉
🎉🎉ha ha genius 🤣
When 10cc were together they were an amazing band
They should never have split up
They came back in 1991 for Meanwhile
They didn't split up. They made something like six more albums after Godley and Creme left.
@@UranusMcVitieFish-yd7oq and then godly cream came back for one album in a contractual obligation
👏👏👏👏👏totally agree
Definitely has a Smokey Robinson vibe. Love it!
That had to be the intent.
This is a brilliant pastiche, but it could have easily worked for the Temptations or their ilk….
I knew Kevin Godley in the 1970s, I used to work for his dad. Shudehill, Manchester UK. I know his dad was proud of 'Rubber Bullets'. Clearly the lads had a great sense of humour.
I would love to go back to 1981 when I was 18, watching this makes me both happy and also very depressed
Me too

I love those silver suits!
my boyfriend says that if he ever gets married he wants the suit that Lol Creme is wearing in this video
I've introduced so many friends to G&C over the decades, and they are amazed at the music that simply isn't played anymore on main stream radio.
A piss take song, that's the brilliance of it, absolute genius! Loved this when it was first released, I had just turned 19
Sounds like the young rascals are owed a pile of royalties
ManufacturingDissent - This sounds like soul to me. Could as well be a Smokey Robinson (or The Miracles) song
@@ElvarMasson this is the one I was thinking about, or listening to, when I heard something familiar. ua-cam.com/video/4JIq8Zn0AJE/v-deo.html
@@manufacturingdissent666 I knew you were thinking about that song 😉 It's a good song
The video, maybe, but not the song. They loved soul music, and it was an affectionate nod towards certain tropes of that genre 😌

Sorry about your friend, that’s rough
Makes me wanna CRY ❤
My god, finally on UA-cam after years of silence! This is the epitome of straight guys exuding campness!! Excellent....
Well straight's the wrong word (although in this case they are) because a lot of gay men are masculine as well but I know what you mean. Funny good video and suits the song spot on.
I tried to upload this into UA-cam multiple times, they always blocked it completely. So glad it's finally up!

I hear you!
Due to their talent and competence.
"We've run out of track before we got on the train," what a great line. Two of the greatest songwriters ever.
That is brilliant (but they always were) and I never heard that line properly before I read your comment! Thank you!
Thanks.. I didn't hear that either, and it actually took me a while to think about it. That really is class.
Love this song
just goes to show how really talented 10cc were, absolutley amazing the 4 of them.
A gem of a song ❤️❤️

10cc: an underrated band, Great melodies, amusing lyrics.
Since when are 10CC underrated ?
That is not 10CC they are called GODLEY & CREAM they are know for the song CRY
few will recognize the humour and pathos that is the brilliant G&C
Few remember them, they are trapped in a Supertramp/Alan Parson's Project/Etc 70-80s time bubble. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
Kevin’s voice is like melted chocolate, yum,
Fantastic song...Under Your Thumb aswell....Brings back so many good memories!!! Great times 👍👍
I was three years old when this song was released in December '81
Haven’t heard this song for years, more’s the pity.. A perfect talented duo.

Oh my god, what a brilliant commentary to pop culture. Respect.
Part of a compilation of UK chart hits for 1981-82 which was one of my first metal tapes. Each of these songs are now 40 yrs plus old but evergreen.

The high level of cheesy ness only proves how great it is
Just fab
It's a pity they didn't do an official video for Under Your Thumb.
Just have to make do with them miming it on TOTP
Kind of ironic as they ran a company that made music vids.
