I am so proud of you for putting honey in it. I have been telling people to put peanut butter and honey. I was homeless at this time last year. I know that my ex mother-in-law told me that when she was in the army they served peanut butter and honey sandwiches with every meal. Because it is great for energy. So, I have been trying to encouraging people to give peanut butter and honey. So, I am so happy to see that you put it into your kits to the homeless. I would like to thank you for doing that. Thank You!!!! :)
God bless you. I am 13 years old and I have had lots of free time. I’ve been wanting to do this for so long and now my cousins and sisters and I are making over 200 care packages from saving money. Thank you for what you do and what you bring to this world
You are a star, shining bright!! Never lose compassion for people truly in need. Always help others because it's the right thing to do and not for the bragging rights and notoriety!! You're awesome
God bless you on your blessing bags for the homeless. My sorority has done this as our Holiday community service project for the past several years. Now , I have started my family doing it on a more regular basis. Your idea of including a resource list with info of where they can go for local assistance is an awesome idea!!
A P-38 GI can opener makes any canned food accessible. A spoon or spork. A tarp and 30 feet of bailing twine will make a quick rain shelter. Peanut butter is awesome.
If I live n a place where there is a lot of homeless people I would make the bags *WOMEN* -tampon and pads -cleaning wipes -food -water -first aid kit Paper plates *MEN* -cleaning wipes -food -water -first aid kit Paper plates *CATS AND DOGS* -dog or cat food -water -bowls
im glad you are trying, some things just are not appreciated. for example i dont want to carry around my toothpaste for the year. maybe a smaller size soap is free everywhere socks are good i like giving gift cards for starbucks back when a refill was 50cents someone could get out of the cold for several hours use the wifi and wash up oh and a nice cup of coffee
Um, FYI--Vaseline and cotton balls make it easier to start a campfire in the fire pits for them to cook their meals. When it is windy, or hard to start fires in the grills at the park, they would need something that will stay lit so as to keep it going to burn hot. I do add some vaseline soaked cotton balls in a smaller plastic bag so they can do that. Most of the men especially have to pay $5/night to stay in a homeless shelter. Many people don't know that, which is why you see them begging on the streets. They won't though cause they would surely want to save that for later so they can buy food. Some do buy drugs, but for those who don't, you know they are also camping outside in the cold and would need some type of fire starter. Hand warmers are always a MUST have. Socks do tend to get wet from sweating with all the walking around they do, and hand warmers will help dry out the socks. When you talk to them, most are pretty honest about what its like living on the streets and being homeless. You get a real good idea what they have to deal with daily, and how to best meet their needs.
Glad you put in the Bible.. i saw someone say they arent religious and they dont know this but everyone has a religion even if they dont know what religion it is.. But God isnt interested in religion.. he wants a relation with His creation and his word will tell you what He actually says... not what some others try to convince you what he says. the truth will set you free.
My Lady I totally agree with you! Even if they don’t personally believe in Jesus, the Bible will give them something to read/study, and they can decide for themselves. I want to apologize to anyone receiving negative comments to their opinions. Please, everyone, you don’t have to agree with others to accept their beliefs.
This is awesome.. You both are such good people. Other items of use would be a small tarp, those cheap blanket throws that can be bought after Christmas for $2. Dollar store baby wipes, i think 3 for $1 rain ponchos, hotel shampoos, lotions and soaps. I hope you're still doing wonderful things like this. God bless
that is honey syrup, not honey. a lot of corn syrup sweetner, but I agree with the honey being antibacterial and good for sore throats and on cleaned cuts
Even though this video is 6 years old, I hope you are still helping people out, and how about some videos of you handing the stuff out to everyone. God Bless you both! David, really I am sure people would love to see you passing out the kits to people in need. I would have loved to get a backpack kit from you when I was homeless here in Chicago from June 2005 until Oct 2008. It was a very rough 3 years for me. It is most likely that has led to all the health problems I now have. I am not homeless but I live in a nursing home in Niles, Illinois which is a suburb of Chicago, and whatever you have heard about nursing homes being bad. It is the truth. Wish I could really tell you, so you could share it with people. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of good people working at nursing homes who really care about the people here and really try to help. But it is so sad some of the stuff we experience David. You would not believe it if I ever got the chance to share with you or maybe your SUBSCRIBERS. Take Care David & God Bless You!
@@freeeggs3811 Abuse my kids? Do you know something I don't? It's truly sad when big tough keyboard warriors, such as yourself, troll people they don't know anything about. It does however indicate that you have no life. You cleary have alienated your entire family, due to your bitter, anti social behavior. So there you sit in your mom's basement, at your PC. Alone in your tightey whiteys. Gut hanging down to your knees, bald, hairy and full of acne. You can't get a woman, because no woman will have you and you smell of butt crack and desperation. But being the "quality" person you are, I'll bet you're catfishing men and women. just to get some semblance of love. Since mommy and everyone else hates you. So with that being said, have a lovely day. Troll.
I saw a comment elsewhere saying that instead of razors use alternatives like hair removal cream, because unfortunately some homeless people will try and get the blade out and possibly harm themselves because of their situations, it is very sad but every little helps.
If you are in a position to be able to afford to buy in bulk Amazon sells 250 feminine pads for $40 and 500 tampax brand tampons for 60$ great price for the quality you get! Feminine hygiene is a big one not many people are able to get when homeless, made me so happy they included bibles 😊😊
Why is it that people like to tell people what to buy for others but don't do it them self. All these people are doing it on there own get up and do it too.
I've never heard of hand sanitizer or alcohol wipes being "dangerous" for anyone. I do know people who are severely allergic to peanuts and/or honey though.

Did you know that "umm" is not a word in any dictionary? You say it a lot while you are busy talking. Have you ever been homeless? I have. A good idea but you need to talk to the homeless and ask what they need, take a survey and remember that every area is different.
Why don’t you spend less time being passive aggressive and more time helping homeless people? She’s actually doing something, what are you doing besides criticizing how she speaks??

That is NOT honey. That's literally processed honey that is not even raw very few traces of honey and the rest is literally corn syrup.😂

Yeah the homeless always need a bible. as long as it is printed on non scratchy paper.

Creative thinking with useful ideas, year round appreciate your use of thrift/second hand stores /shops,brilliant!!!!!!
Why razors for women - hairs on legs will help with keeping warm by trapping air. Food and water more important. Thankyou for doing these bags

I can't imagine being 60 and being in a nursing home. Although I'm 56 and I may end up in one..I hope not.
Take care...report staff that mistreats you
@@MsTLea If you didn’t abuse your kids you wouldn’t end up in a nursing home

If you are giving this in the summer, you should give flip flops, these are not the best foot wear but it can be hard to save up for flip flops
