      The Ravens got outcoached and outgameplanned like crazy. Mahomes basically only threw it past the line of scrimmage to Travis Kelce and then MVS to end the game. The Chiefs kept punting up 2 scores to keep pinning the Ravens deep so they would have to drive long fields. The Chiefs also kept the clock going by basically running every play (come on screens arent hard to throw), putting a lot of pressure on the Ravens to score quickly

All Mahomes needs is Kelce, everything is a non factor, Brock Purdy is a legit NFL QB, the Packers and Lions are very young teams and will be dangerous contenders next year, Baker is a franchise QB and the Browns letting him go is a lmfao moment, The Eagles have coaching problems AGAIN, and watch out for the Houston Texans.

      Lions problem all season was 3rd quarter offense. For some reason they were often ineffective in 3Q. It could be that defenses we’re making halftime adjustments that worked. But often, what I would see, is that Lions players had a major drop off in 3rd quarter execution.
      The NFC title game was a perfect example of that. We had two critical drops by a player who never drops. And we had a mixup on offense that caused a fumble. If we don’t have these failures in execution, then the Lions offensive scheme probably looks pretty good after halftime, and nobody is criticizing Campbell for 4th down decisions.

  • @babygay3095
    @babygay3095 6 місяців тому +1

    Going for the 4th down and scoring long field goals won them the rams game. You can't be mad at doing it if its the thing that got you there in the first place.

  • @imfknradio9978
    @imfknradio9978 6 місяців тому +4

    Finally someone else says it. No it wasnt Dan Campbells 4th down play calling. No it wasnt this play, or that play. It was a culmination of ZERO experience. The only 2 people in that building with any kind of Playoff experience is Jared Goff and Brad Holmes. It was a first time for the majority of the fan base AND player base. Going up 24-7 gave everyone, including the fans big heads. I know when halftime came i was somewhat already prematurely celebrating just from the level of domination i just watched. But there was another half to play and the Lions Players and Coaching staff forgot that too.
    Well be back though no doubt. MCDC has already shown amazing progress, 3-13-1, 9-8 to 12-5, 1 referee call away from 13-4 and the #1 seed. From the past 3 drafts, we only stand to get better, and better each year.

      @spidamitchell8311 I hate to be the bearer of bad news, chief. It wasn't any calls. The Lions across the board blew it themselves. From pure karma (CJGJ waving good bye to the crowd in the first half, Eminem flipping the double bird at halftime), Reynolds drops, Melifonwu missed sack, Williams touchdown drop, blown exchange results in a fumble, getting away from the run in the second half, two interception drops, and the third down run...
      It was just everyone made little mistakes that all added up. It wasn't that bad a game from anyone single player, and the refs didn't have nearly as big an impact.

    Normally I love your analysis but I actually slightly disagree with your assessment on the Ravens' offensive game plan vs the Chiefs. If you look at what their run game w/ RBs was producing it make sense that they abandoned it. If you take out the one long Gus Edwards run, no RB run play netted more than 4 yards. Their pass plays were what moved the ball downfield consistently. There were just too many mistakes made in the execution (ie Lamar overthrowing WRs and throwing into triple coverage, a drop, PI no-calls). What you could argue though is why there weren't more Lamar scrambles. Those plays were working but Lamar kept holding onto the ball instead of taking off like he did vs HOU.
    That also brings up something no football analyst is talking about: Lamar's speed. All you ever hear about is how Lamar is usually the fastest guy on the field. If that's the case, why didn't he break off a single long TD run this season? I watched every single play from every single Ravens game this year (including one in person at SoFi vs Chargers) and there were MANY plays Lamar broke through the first level only to be caught and tackled. In 2019, Lamar took those plays to the house consistently. This year he'd usually take a dive after 8 yards. In the AFC champ game there was a 4th.& 1 play where Lamar broke through the line and I thought he was taking it to the house but the CB caught him after a 20 yard run. How is anyone catching Lamar in a full sprint if he's still as fast as the media has said? Something ain't right there. Thoughts?

    Yes playoff experience matters. This is why I thought Jordan Love and Packers making the playoffs, even knowing we'd get bounced, was infinitely more valuable than getting a draft pick that a few picks higher.
    Also this year was a rebuilding year and so will next year. It isn't until the 2025 season that the Packers can truly become a contender (yes and we're already this good!). Why? The salary cap, we are cap strapped bad for 2024, we're going to have to make cuts just to clear enough cap space to draft players. So there's roster needs that just can't get filled yet, there's no way we can add in free agency, particularly painful as this free agency class has a ton of good safeties going on the market and we need safety's badly. 2025 though all the dead cap hits we have now come off the books and we can start going all in again.

    Seems like Lamar Jackson is getting a free pass from what was a terrible game from him. Yes, the Ravens should have run more. But Jackson is the third best paid QB in the league, if you cannot put the game on him in a crucial match, what is he being paid so much to do? Jackson was missing throws all game (even simple ones being overthrown), threw a pick into triple coverage. The defence gave the offence so many chances. Blame can be spread around, but Jackson was awful in this game. That he is MVP at all is laughable when he was not even the best QB in the regular season. He is a great QB, as a 49ers fan I'd absolutely swap him for Purdy (and I like Purdy), but it is time we stop hiding criticism of Jackson behind a bad OC or play calling.

    With the Lions, I do wonder whether we shouls all unquestioningly assume that this is their level now. Particularly on Goff, I'll admit he proved a lot of his haters wrong by having the best season of his career, but I still think he's far from guaranteed to stay at this level particularly when he'll lose his OC this year and teams will have a full offseason to look at his 2023 tape and scheme to stop him. I do like the Lions and hope I'm wrong and Goff can make this level his floor for 5 years but I'm just not ready to believe it yet

      Yeah, but face it, Pittsburgh has had great teams, consistently, over the past six decades. Steelers fans know football, and seldom blame the refs, or the field, or the weather when they lose. The Ravens play a very thuggish style and expect their scheme to intimidate their opponenets. I have yet to see the Steelers give into that garbage, and neither do the Chiefs. Baltimore and Cincinnati will never grow into champions until they realize...they still have to play the game. They are too busy pointing fingers.

    Let’s also not set the narrative as “Ravens Choked” when the chiefs were running the ball and dumping it off into packed boxes for literally the entire second half to “burn clock” when they easily could’ve schemed up some small developing chunk plays and blew out the Ravens. Or that they didn’t call tripping in the endzone a safety. Or that they called a slingshot technique ‘holding’. All contribute to why the chiefs didn’t score. None of which has anything to do with the Ravens defense.

    The Chiefs have gotten to the point where the regular season no longer holds the same consequences in the postseason, and it feels like the Chiefs just try to put themselves in a good situation, and then seemingly always play their best in the postseason. The chiefs are the team that illustrated how much experience matters. They have become the team you want no part of, regardless of their record. The 49ers will tell you that they are glad its KC again, and they want revenge. They are lying. They see Mahomes and KC the same way the rest of the league does. You need to play your very best, and you need several factors to come together to beat them. Your best is not enough, you need them to make mistakes. But even thats not enough because their super bowl included several Mahomes mistakes late and the 49ers did capitalize, but not enough. The road wins in this postseason have made an already dangerous team even more confident. This season that no matter the record, Mahomes and Reid should be favored in every postseason they take part in

He's shown eliteness, that 2019 unanimous mvp didn't show up out of nowhere, and was earned, he had the most touchdowns in the league, even just looking at passing ones. Your playoffs video including my Ravens came at the worst possible time, haha..
    This was rough, ngl. Regarding the playcalling, which evidently was suboptimal at best, I have a theory;
    Chiefs scored on their two opening possessions And would get the ball after halftime. This means Ravens is already down 1-2 possessions in the long run.
    As our defense were overwhelmed in the start, the fear may have kicked in for Harbaugh & Monken that it would require 30+ points to win. Combine this "fact" with the Ravens being down possessions it may have accelerated the playcall to a passing plan to limit time per drive and maximize big plays.
    Now, obviously, hindsight shows our defense woke up and shut Mahomes down. But it may have played a part in the playcalling from a bird's view perspective.
    Just my two cents.
    Looking forward to the off-season videos of each and every team heading into 2024! Great content as always!
