Great job. Smiling through the whole video. Love to watch wood lovers. However no updates or comment replies in 5 years, hope everything is ok. Best of luck. Thanks for sharing.
Hey! Surprisingly, they don't! Would have to be one of the simplest things I have made to date :) having an imagination is as hard a work as it gets!! Thanks for watching :)
Hi I just found you and am a new subscriber! Your work is lovely and you did a great job of clearly teaching how you create you chair. I was wondering, if you know, can I use green wood for this project?
Just beautiful, I enjoyed your video , I used oil base to seal and preserve the wood but I will try that water base finish nice look , nice color , great puppy 👍👍
Thanks mate!! I hadn't considered using an oil base so I might try that next time!! Thanks for your kind comments, the puppy runs the show around here! :)
Great looking chair, great work, great video editing, and a great dog (So helpful in holding the chair down for you at 12:15!). I'm off to watch your other videos, but meanwhile I've already subscribed. I hope you'll be putting out lots more videos; otherwise I will have wasted a mouse-click. 😢
Thanks Karl!! We are currently in the process of building a business plan towards this type of work. We will surely be uploading more videos in not to to distant future. And as for Luna (the dog), she is a great help - sometimes... When she isn't running off with the wood we are working with!! Haha :) Catie
Thats not a 'chair' its more like a throne fit for royalty. 👍 Thank you for posting and giving me some inspiration. Now that the rain has eased off, I'm off to look for branches around the property.
@@rusticaussiefurniture366 Yep all finished and sitting under the patio. I don't have an electric planer though so I put the seat beams from left to right rather than front to back, but I need to find a cushion for it. It's made out of ''soft'' wood but not so soft after sitting for a while!
Not sure if you’ve received an answer for this question since asking, however I seal the ends after it’s been cut so it dries more evenly before using them. You can use several methods like a few coats of thinned wood glue, latex paint, or a more expensive method using Anchorseal. After it’s dried you can just cut the tips off if you need to.
Thanks!! The reason I use nails is because this is how I was taught but also I like the way they look and finish off the piece of furniture. I have used screws on other pieces not documented here, to the same success, but its in a way more work due to having to counter-sink them. It is just my personal preference to use nails. :)
@@rusticaussiefurniture366 yes screws ate not that beautiful, now using a strong wood bar, make a hole with drill , insert a round piece of wood, dont know what call it in english, would look even nicer?
Maicol X777 Maybe you mean a wood plug. A wood plug covers the screw and gives it a more finished look. Yes, I think it is personal preference. I like the look of nails better than screws. The only thing I’d like better than the look of store bought nails would be hand made square nails!
that beautiful wood and precious vision is wasted with that nails she can learn how to cross lap and half lap joints less than couple hours chair will be loosen from joints very fast more than 200 pund person can wiggle chair couple onches left to righ back to front
Will have another different chair video soon, just in the last stages in completing a commission of two chairs and a matching couch made out of mistletoe on eucalyptus branches, and yes the puppy is keeping us all tapping! All the best mate.

Thank you!! :)
Hi, nice work. What does the wood need doing to it to stop it from splitting or cracking?

Got job! I’m n old granny and I still love doing things like that. I was wondering why you used nails instead of screws tho.
