The only thing that makes this band stick out from other bands IS the vocals, his more rough imperfect crooning is significantly more interesting than all the perfectly pitched and trained voices in indie rock rn
I can appreciate that this vocalist's unpolished style is suited for the band's sound but I'm not so sure there's an abundance of perfectly pitched indie rock singers out there. In fact, I find it refreshing to hear a professional well tuned vocalist in indie rock.
Yes, rough imperfect, and even delightfully off-key, flat.... - all so interesting, I agree! I see them all trying so hard - and the musicianship is good, and will get better, they are young. But the singer just has to .....something. I want to hug him and just say, I'm sorry. you are sweet.....an instrument perhaps? Clearly being pretty doesn't carry the day.
yes!!! cause I’ve noticed alot of these type of bands that have similar styles always use faded echoed out vocals. its amazing to hear a band like this a unique vocalist
I knew the musical stylings reminded me of someone and it was killing me because I couldn't figure it out but then it hit me. Apartment from the UK. Everyone says I'm paranoid is one of my favorites and their list goes on. So many great songs and these guys are great too!
Anyone who’s just getting into them, listen to Perfect Skin, its one of their best songs you could easily overlook with all their other amazing music and music videos
Music sounds good, but not like something new, but this vocal it's what makes this band special, I think all perform mistakes can be fixed on post production level, so record should be interesting if sound producer will be good enough.
Music is really great, arrangement of all the songs is perfect.... I do mean that, very well done. But the lead singer isn't carrying a single tune, he is off key in every song and pitch is awful. Not trying to mean, but I'd scrap the lead singer, he is ruining the band.
I understand your view for sure @poolroom, Consider Jello Biafra of DK, who stylistic approach brought a whole new vibe to the band. Even the Butthole Surfers had a different lead singer as did the Curb Suckers. But for sure, I see your point... Will, Death Bells Lead singer might be doing a style thing.
Sure @piousyouth, but we were talking about those lead singers who brought a different representation to their band. You know, you could use any band with a prominent lead singer, I just chose the punk scene is all. SO I am dissing the lead singer, it's just my opinion, this isn't going to make or break the band, their lead singer will do that. But what a great band, very talented.. I am sure their manager or a new manager could put in a better lead singer. This is a group, they all count in my opinion. Very talented band I might add. How about Mathew Mole? He's not even in the US, he is in South Africa. I'd put him and this band together. Check out his song " Light (warehouse version)" see what I mean? Again... JMO
Vocals are great, don't know what everyone's talking about. Really add to the sound.
ENT Dr. (Ear, nose, and throat)...
Found this band on spotify im Glad to hear them on KEXP! even more thrilled they will keep going with music! loving the style and vocals!
2 yrs and still watching this session, I hope you make another live session with songs of the new album

Exactly!

Big agree

Brilliant track!
Met this band in Portland. So awesome!
the singer literally starts every phrase with a bark/scream/puke sound
Yes WHY is he doing that? Man I love the instrumentals though. It’s love/hate because the vocals.
If IDLES and Interpol had a baby
They sound like the OG Communions or an upbeat surfy Iceage, not sure who look better this lead singer or Rønnenfelt
this dude is pretty good looking but nobody is prettier than Rønnenfelt, dude is beautiful
adding the band called 'The Snow' to this list, they even have a song called 'Memory Loss'
@@movimentodoscacos @João Botelho Ive met both of them they're equally handsome lol
This is awesome 👍
WESTERN SYDNEY STAND UP TALL 4 DIS ONE
I liked the music, the vocals just killed the vibe for me.

Obvious influence is obvious.
Wild Nothing goes heavier
Smokin hot lead singer

Stephen Banks Forever
🖤🖤🖤
Limp Bizkit : Tool :: Death Bells : Interpol However, I do like this guy's ersatz Ian Curtis impression, it's better. Pretty good stuff.
@TheWarrrenator you forgot to mention The Chameleons
Straya represent
No lame ass trendy beards to look at .Rock on awesome
I like the singer and would rather have him influenced by Ian Curtis than these beaded blokes nowadays
Music sounds good, but not like something new, but this vocal it's what makes this band special, I think all perform mistakes can be fixed on post production level, so record should be interesting if sound producer will be good enough.
GREATEST BAND IN AUSTRALIA
Lewis Oxenbould agree
HAHAHAHA
No. Every time someone hears a baritone voice they say Ian Curtis or Interpol. Doesn’t sound like either.
Anybody know what color that guitar is? Polar white or Olympic white??? I must know!!!
olympic
¡❤︎!
Really like that unusual vox.
check out Corbin, that was my first association when I heard this guy
Jonah Hill on the bass 😂😂
César V you mean guitar? haha
Was a bit dissapointed by vocal perfomance, but still cool
The vocals are the only thing keeping them from sounding like early 80s U2.
I don't mean to be rude but I'm about to be rude. Band: amazing. Singer..... The fuck?
Joy Division :'))))
The smiths anyone ?
oh wow another joy division cover band
KRUSTYskates I actually enjoy bands that sound like Joy Division the most so it works for me
Lazy comparison

I think it's stylistic, i think they give the band a uniquity that would be lost by introducing a different singer.

Its post punk you dunce.
