I agree. I drift whatever I am in. All cars have different wants when driving. Also everything changes depending on what class you run. I can drift in a ff car as long as we are going for speed and not style. But when it comes to drifting for points it comes to making it look good in which you are going slow, in which a ff car has no chance. All cars are instruments and like to be plucked accordingly.
duza but it is easier to initiate a drift with a hand brake though. In addition it’s easier to maintain a drift or to make corrections during the drift by using the e-brake. Not relying on the e-brake forces you hone other driving skills like braking, timing, weight transfer, throttle control etc. Nothing wrong with using the e-brake but it does take a lot more skill to not have to rely on it.

This is a pure advance Drifting without e-brake because there is a technique that no always need e-brake for drifting. You can drifting using a brake pedal to slide your rear with encounter your steering or a gas pedal for making power slide or Clutch pedal to forcing the wheels to get some slide and responsive acceleration power like keichi tsuchiya did as drift king. E-brake is just a last choice for the simple people to drifting quickly... But for me it's just a beginner technique.
Yup! I wish he had his entry speed on the screen. You could make the argument that Formula D entry speeds are anywhere from 60-100mph as well. I think most people would be scared to initiate the drift with inertia only though. It’s much easier to feel a car out and break traction with a hydro-brake. I wonder how fast can he possibly be going. His highest entry speed is probably coming off a straight and he probably has a modded NA 20 valve.
Don't worry, listening to the revs and shifting up or down becomes 2nd nature the more you drive. Since you'll be rowing the gears often in normal driving. For sporty driving though it can take some getting used to. Like heel-toe downshift is easy to understand how to do but only practice can tell you how much clutch and how long. How much brake and how long, and more importantly how much gas to keep the revs in the power band. Then you mix that with very sharp steering and weight control and it quickly gets complicated. Every split second you adjust your steering and footwork by millimeters to get the exact angles and power the car needs otherwise it'll spin around like a top. Lol.
Now this is the drifting I like! No handbrake, low power, weight-transfer and wired gearboxes. (I know it's not wired but try explaining this to a normie, lol)
