Sorry guys but it says on Slimming World online support that this has syns. To quote "Under the Myths & misconception busted section someone asks "Are couscous cake, smash pizzas, scones or smash used for a coating for chicken and rice pudding made with diet soda free?" and the answer is "When we tweak free food , it's usually because we're using it in a way it wasn't intended to be used. For instance, making couscous into cake, Smash in to pastry or dough, or pasta into tortilla chips. When free food is used as part of a meal, it's satisfying and nutritious. When it's been tweaked, it's usually to eat as a snack, so it's a way of adding extra calories throughout the day, or sticking to old habits without counting syns, And that's when it damaging to weight loss. When free food is being used in a way they're not meant to be used, in particular as a replacement for a food that isn't free, we give them the Syn value of the food they're replacing." So going on all that I would say that this is 1 syn per 25g cooked weight as that is the syn value of low fat rice pudding.
Well if pudding rice isn't meant for making rice pudding perhaps Slimming World can tell us what it is meant to be used for. Also using smash as a pizza base is in effect using smash to make a meal, the pizza being the meal. I know tweaks are advertised all over the internet but my consultant(& she is award winning) says that if by making something in a tweaked way stops you from reaching for its high fat/high sugar version then she doesn't see the harm in it. My advice would be to be aware of when you are making tweaks & keep a close eye on your weight losses. If you find your losses suffer on a week when you have eaten tweaks then perhaps think about if using tweaks is for you. I know i for one would not stick to Slimming world without them.
Hi Donna, I never said Slimming World said pudding rice isn't to be used for making rice pudding or Smash for pizza. I am only concerned that if something is promoted as SYN FREE when it isn't, people may think oh I can have this and still have my 5 - 15 syns as well and then not lose as much weight as they wanted. As your award winning consultant states, it is better to tweak than have fat / sugar version. I made this pudding from your you tube (and will make again) but didn't syn it so went over my syns for that day. That is my concern. If I had that and the pizza etc and then my syn allowance I would not lose weight. If you have access to Slimming World lifeline online visit group.slimmingworld.com/useful-features/myths1.aspx and that will explain all. x
Alison Scurr will you stop trolling I've seen you on 3 videos now spouting the exact same thing, tinned rice pudding is full of milk and sugar obviously if you make it yourself with just pudding rice and cream soda it's not going to contain those things so why would you treat it the same? you wouldn't.
I am NOT trolling I am simply stating what is says on the official Lifeline Online Slimmng World web site and I don't want people to make a mistake and put on weight because of misinformation. It says "2. Are couscous cake, Smash pizzas, scones or smash used as a coating for chicken and rice pudding made with diet soda Free? You might be disappointed to hear that they’re not. If trying to help someone makes me a troll well that is sad.
+Alison Scurr but the point everyone's making is: it's not being used to make something free that normally isn't! It's still making rice pudding and rice pudding is free when you use your HA for the milk. It's not a cake, pizza or scone from rice pudding. It's making rice pudding from pudding rice. That's like saying tomatoes aren't free when they're put into a soup or potatoes when they're mashed ??
Just tried this with skyr vanilla I'll be honest it tasted nicer before adding the yogurt not sure if it's just skyr or any yogurt as this is the 1st time I've tried this... slightly disappointed but won't give up yet will try other yogurts or leave the yogurt out added cinnamon and sultanas to the mix. Although not what I was hoping for I'm very full now so no picking! Thanks 4 the idea x
Hehe, its lush isn't it. My favourite now is a vanilla or custard muller in it. Thanks for the microwave tip, thats great & time saved. Oh and no pan to was afterwards. FAB! xxx
Donna can any brand of pudding rice be used?...I'm not sure of the exact nutritional values but the tesco brand seemed queit high in kcal and saturated fat
Hey Sandy Frank (or anyone else who knows)if you'rre still on here, please describe the microwave version in a bit more detail? Is it in full power and do you stir part way through? Thanks
+Charlene Green Oats aren't free on Slimming World. This is pudding rice, just like regular rice but smaller/shorter pieces. And no, you don't need to rinse it
To be honest I make the tweak stuff often and it doesn't affect me! Just try it if you are still loosing weight grand if you are loosing weight slowly or stall use less of the tweaks or give a couple of syns! Every body's body is different. I know a lady at group who the weeks she eats a lot of super free fruit she looses barely anything the weeks she eats veg as her super free she will loose 2-3 pounds! I know a lady who goes over there sun allowance and still looses ha wouldn't that be nice! Good luck x
Added 1 Tbls of cream for 1 1/2s syns and some rasberries....lovely..
Oh sounds good x

We don't have cream soda in the Netherlands. The only sugarless drink we have is cola zero. Can i use this instead?
***** I wouldn't use Cola. Try it with water & some sweetener & a couple of drops of vanilla extract. HTH.
Loved the rice pudding... Thanks for all your tips
That looks yummy, is pudding rice aborio rice what u would use for a risotto? Also our creaming soda in Australia is pink, does that matter?
I don't think so Nicole :/ Pink is good :) x
Going to make this tonight... I've thought of cooking with fizzy pop before. Thanks

Can I ask u, when the liquid is all absorbed, is the rice pudding quite sticky?
+Jane Lish It is a bit yes. I like to add a bit of vanilla muller light yoghurt at the end to cool it down & make it creamy :)
How many servings do you get from that recipe hun? X love rice pudding but always thought it was a no no! X
1 if you are a pig like me but 2 for a normal person lol x
Doesn't the yoghurt make it cold?
It brings it down to eating temperature which is very handy 😀
Thanks. Do you have to use cream soda. I found it very. Sweet?
Yum yum, will definitely be trying this xx
Nom nom x
