It just takes practice, and with digital at least you can see how it’s going as you go along. I still shoot a bunch of stuff for myself that are just for “practice”
I’m kind of partial to bare metal stuff myself, but definitely would not want to have to scotch brite something that big 😂 Thanks for the kind words on our work, and for taking the time to watch 🙏
If your subject is shiny try to keep the light above the body line of the subject in comparison to your camera angle, and it will help keep your light lines cleaner. I feel like I cheated on this one because the light doesn’t show up in the finish. Great luck hope I have helped even a least little bit. Thanks for watching
Enjoyed seeing the insight on your light painting. Great results! I saw an example done with fire used as the light source the other day and wondered if you had tried that?
Thanks man for the kind words. I’ve had fire and smoke in backgrounds, but usually a fire will throw a orange color cast if used for a light source so I’ve never considered it. I have messed around with background lighting fire ropes and swirling aluminum pads, but the risks don’t seem to outweigh the rewards with the vehicles I get the privilege to photograph. I have seen some cool photos done with that concept though. Thanks for watching
I like that you put the yet on the end 😂. I probably should have made a more basic video to start, but I do plan on doing more of this stuff for all levels. Thanks for watching 🙏
Very cool truck. I really enjoyed watching you light paint the Skuza Zephyr.
That was a couple years ago I need another shot at that car 😂
Man, that was a great lesson. I need to start learning more manual settings on my camera. Thank you for the lesson.

I've practiced with my Samsung phone and a stand. I'll try out these tips
