Oh my god. My deepest condolences for having to perform this cringe af ad. This is honestly one of the worst I've seen and I wonder what marketing team for this game thought while coming with this idea.
Looking forward to the release of the project as it's my only option for more Gothic. I can't play Risen because there is not a native first person view nor is there any first person mods. Thankfully, I can play Gothic 3 in it's entirety in first person.

@@andreiznexus777 Soundtracks for all Gothic games are great. Even Arcania had some good songs. Maybe you just like G1 "dark" style more than "epicness" of G3 OST. Everyone likes different things. I like both soundtracks. "Epic" OST fits G3 very well.

Yeah. I think the project was anounced 2010 or so. But the members changed and there is not much left from the early years. So "real developement" started much later.

Am I misunderstanding something ? 5:45 OMG, a reunion with Greg would be an amazing experience. I hadn't even thought about it before. He was a meticulously designed character.
It is astonishing to me how you did your research. Very informative with a lot of proper sources and showcases. About 7:05 : It means that other settlements are mentioned and acknowledged in dialogue. Their connection to one another is explained as well (prior to losing the war and after it). There are also other things: For every major settlement / location we have concept documents that fill the places with NPCs, dialogues and even side quests if necessary. They also change a lot to make the world feel more lived in and dynamic. For example, Kent will now be in Montera before chapter 4 and only then he'll be moved in the forest near Okara. Then, you can choose to bring him back to Montera as a mercenary or hashishin. Just as an example. About 7:55 : Of course Vengard doesn't look as ruined as in the original but remember that a lot of it is still Work in Progress, all of that can and probably will still change. The city in its final state will still be in ruins, however a few buildings will still have survived (and even an entire part of town because the orcs didn't stage their attack from that side but I won't spoil anything specific now). Thank you for this video. Personally, I'm looking forward to future development updates from you and I'm sure the others from the team also are.

I'm not sure if there was an official statement about that, but since there are now quite nice tools allowing to have AI speak with the "original" voices (see some enhancement mods for Gothic 1 and 2 for example), I think that a kind-of voiced version isn't out of the question - perhaps not by the CSP team themselves, but some other members of the community. Anyhoo, one of the factors why the CSP isn't finished yet (which you didn't mention) is that during development, both their skills and technical possibilities improved so much that they more or less had to re-do much of their early work in order to have consistent quality. This does take time of course. But they've also mentioned that while there's a lot still to do, they are making good progress. I hope we get an update soon :D
Oh man that sounds amazing. Gothic 3 had potential to be one of the best open world RPGs in history in my opinion, a patch like this might finally show the game in its full glory

If there were chapters again, am I forced to play the game in a specific order? So it forces me to go to Nordrend for example, when I would prefer going to the desert first? That would be a negative point in my eyes. One thing I like about gothic 3 is the choice of going everywhere I want to at any time.
I don't think that it would go this way. Given that the other Gothic games didn't restrict your movement like this either but instead forced you to go to certain locations for the main story.
@@JacktheRah But Gothic 2 restricted your movement. You couldnt enter the Valley of Mines or Jharkendar during the first chapter. As far as I know there will be similiar things in CSP, but the information I have is really old. I don't know how it is today exactly. You could just ask in their World of Gothic thread though. The first chapter plays in the eastern and middle part of Myrtana (Ardea and up towards Faring). Once you get to Nordmar, it starts chapter 2 and Nordmar is available as well. Chapter 3 opens up the rest of the world and from that point youcan go anywhere you want, basically.

as long as I kept listening to that beautifull soundtrack loading screens never bothered me actually. only my mother bothered yelling at me to lower the volume , since I'm blasting that soundtrack at max ! 😜
#Idea The "Ring of Water" as a group, with Saturas etc. from the Gothic 2 AddOn, is unfortunately completely missing in Gothic 3, even though our hero even became a member of it. You meet some of the characters again in G3, but the group is generally is missing. It would be great to have this group back in G3 and to continue to be a part of it, the group perhaps as a support for all the tasks that are given to us. If the Ring of Water had a headquarter in G3, it would be a good place to park and change possible companions.
what about a COMBAT? is there any news about it? for me, old Gothic 3 don't need any changes except combat..if they change that I can play it again a 1000 times..as I did already ;)
For me it doesn’t seem to be completed ever. Since more than 13 years they tell the Users: We are ready next summer/winter - since 13 years! And nowadays no news are released anymore. Come on.. I dont want to be pessimistic, but its more than clear that this project is something like „dead“.
Probably you will have Gothic TTS where an AI creates the voices of the real voice actors. It works really good and adds a lot to mods etc. but I only know the German version
you could say that the game was incomplete and in many cases the design was patchwork from the conversations with NPCs. there was one that stuck with me: the NPC says "we could see the orc army on the plains bellow and we were ready to fight them off. then Xardas showed up, did a ritual and suddenly all our magic stopped working". then i looked out of the town to the plains bellow and... there were no plains, it was a dense forest and you could barely see anything beyond the city gate. meaning that the dialogue and the world design were made separately and then stitched together in a hurry
Man I'm more hyped by this than by the remake of G1 ! Will wait and see..maybe almost 20 years after the release, we could play an almost finished game? Anyway for the moment, just the G3 Parallel Universe patch improved the performance by a lot. But the most important thing..will they reintroduce the "à la Snaf" meatbug soup? I missed it! :D
Well it will be really cool to see for example some actually travelling between cities, maybe stuff like caravans etc where you maybe some time could meet people, get some quest, protect them or just some random encounters, I feel it could fit a game pretty nicely.
hadn't heard of the parralell patch until this video, it really makes a gigantic difference no more having to wait a few moments upon loading for the game to stop stuttering etc, awesome!
for the game to stop stuttering you need to set the rendering to max, at the beginning it takes a long time for the whole map to load, but after that everything works fine, it works in all 3 parts✌️👍
Project is indeed interesting and looks great. The only thing that concerns me is that they don't use armors from the newest version of Content Mod which look absolutely amazing
Oh that's actually awesome news, the thing that always killed getting really back into G3 were the loading times for me. Stutter was annoying but I'm just too impatient to wait so long on every reload.
That Mod looks and seems to be very promising. While I really liked Gothic 1 & 2, I never tried Gothic 3... I would like to see some new Gothic content that is true to the original series and I hope the new reboot will be able to deliver exactly that...
i truly never liked playing gothic three because of all the missing elements and bugs in the older versions and it has painted my opinion a lot about the game so i agree with what he said... yet i LOVE the old ones though, but this one was like the precursor to arcania.. and both were huge disappointments to me.. compared to the old ones... Chronicles though OH YEAH! they totally brought gothic back to life for me, with that.. brought me back to my childhood with GOTHIC II.. to me they simply revived a pleasure i thought long gone in this age
They fixed the lag spikes and loading times of Gothic 3!? I didn't think that would ever happen, wow... Even if they weren't planning such a large overhaul of the game, just that gets me excited.
Nice project and video :) I love G1 and 2, but I never managed to play G3, for me the floaty combat is a huge turn off and the constant "ah, ah uh, urgh" sounds the characters make while fighting ... is there any patch that optimizes this?
12 years ago all my hopes were laying with the CSP. I forgot about them and Gothic 3, but no I am nearly as hyped for the CSP as I was hyped for Gothic 3 back in the day

I have recently gave gothic 3 another chance. Like the first time, I wasn't able to force my self to finish the game. So this a great news and I hope I will finally be able to enjoy the game. Gothic 1 and 2 are the best games I have ever played (I guess except chronicles of myrtana, that was even better the original gothic games).
Agreed, but they really need to improve Gothic 3 combat, because it's awful, and if they can make combat like in Gothic 1 and 2, that would be amazing. Unfortunately, no mentioning of that in the video.
Because of the mixed reviews, I have never played Gothic 3, but I enjoyed Gothic 2 a lot. This project would be a great reason to finally play Gothic 3.
you should really give it a try. although not finished, despite all the flaws, if you dont get hooked after montera and dont sunk in completety, its not the gsme for you
G1(compleded more than 7x), G2 (completed over 10x), G3 completed almost 2x. Its a good game, but first two parts are way, way above g3 in terms of quality in my opinion in every way. This patch might improve it a lot.
I wonder if they could change the weird bow animation to be vertical again like in G1 and 2. Also there is a Gothic Text to Speech Program that generates voices from G1 to G3, Risen and even The Witcher to be close the actual voice actors by feeding it the actual voicelines from the games. As far as I know that is only available in german yet. But i bet it would not be too hard to jist replace the voice actors with the english ones etc
Can anyone tell me how to contact these project creators? I would volunteer for voice of an NPC if necessary. I can speak many languages including English, German and Russian.
I just dreamed about all the time. A perfect mastering of Gothic 3. Ive just played it with the current CP and it makes the game much more interesting already but I know there can come out a masterpiece again
Oh my godness. I just tried the anti stuttering patch and it works like a charm. Freshly freed ardea first time since 5 years and not. one. single. stutter. Im baffeled this is even possible. And that raises the question why PB did nothing on this, as it is possible :o
Regarding the audio: In German some very smart and talented community members created a very good text to speech programme which imitates the voices of the Gothic characters. In the newest version it's even possible to translate spoken voice lines into Gothic voices. So at worst we can expect that the German version at least features the fitting tts voices, at best we can get a whole new team of people to voice the lines (and possibly even translate them into Gothic voices via the tool).
Polish version of it, "Gothic Bot" existed (I think they were forced to close project) too, but most voice actors in Poland hate it and wants it banned since they are afraid of losing their jobs.
I'm really glad that old fans are still working on that mess that was Gothic 3. Few times I've seen such a hard affectionate and loving community. I loved the first two Gothic and still today are among my favorite games of all time, but the third was such a huge disappoint for me that I didn't even finish it. One of the thing I really hated about the game was the absence of the weapon mastery which influenced the animation and moveset of the combat, you could really feel the improvement in your fighting abilities because the character's weapon use was faster, more precise and could create longer combo. In the third weapon masteries only served for the purpose of equipping advanced weapons, but the moveset remained the same. It was a really cool feature and I don't understand why they removed it; maybe because of short time and few reasources? Other thing I didn't like: the AI, the placement and scaling of items you find through your journey (which I remember was very strange to the point of being absurd) and the clunky animations. I really hope CSP developers will fix some of these issues, so this may be the time I finish the game at least once.
When looking at the combat system, then they didn't develop it at all. Its stuck in placeholder limbo. Never developed, never fixed. One example: Look how they hold two handed swords. Makes total sense to hold a giant sword with one hand gripping the edge... this is something that can't just fly by anyone in the design team. Its too obvious in your face, its too stupid.
There will be at least German voice acting. The gothic community developed a really good TTS tool based on trained AI that is able to "speak" all the new dialogues in a very realistic way using all the original voice actor voices! If you understand German, check out the youtube channels of "Jorgenson" or "KhorinisPictures" and you will be amazed. Also, the German version of the community quest package is able to use these TTS translations already. Right now I am playing Gothic 3 again with new custom quests and a whole original-voice-actor TTS voice-over. If you want to know more about that, let me know.

I tried to install all the gothic 3 mods, but the steam version bugs a lot with these mods. Whatever I do, the problem will always arise that the G3 does not see the modification.
Haven't seen or heard much form the CSP in a while. I'm glad someone is covering it though, I thought it was dead to be honest and I hope we get some news from the devs soon!
Frankly I like G3 more than Oblivon back then despite the issues. I remember STALKER was plagued by the stutters too, either affordable SSDs or switch to 64bit engine helped. BTW wonder what happend to Baldur's Gate 2 Reloaded on Neverwinter Night 2 engine...
Played this game the last time right before corona in 2020....had a blast as always. Now I can´t play it anymore since my PC got broken. This sucks man.
I wish they made the weapons much smaller. They are so oversized in the original game. And also it is quite disturbing how different the infrastructure in Gothic 3 is. While Gothic 1 and 2 were very late medieval, Gothic 3 ist like you went two centuries back.
Man G3 has a lot of fans, does it deserve so much seeing how poor it originally was with the bugs ? I dont know but still ill play this mod/patch when it is available, GREAT news 👍
If they would somehow incorporate Raytraced Global illumination and allow proper modded lighting, then even with the dated textures, it would do wonders to modernize the look of the game.
Awesome news... Hopefully I'll finally be able to finish the game, after many, many "unsuccessful" returns to it xD I'm assuming saves won't be backwards compatible though.

its actually my most played gothic game , mainly because there are cracks through which you can see what this game could have been and wanted to be
i think they need to make it accessible like archolos, so new comers don't have to deal with installation.
I'm still waiting for Gothic 3 😢 I simply refuse to accept it as a sequel. 😢

How did you manage to have the NH with the ponytail?
Well it will be really cool to see for example some actually travelling between cities, maybe stuff like caravans etc where you maybe some time could meet people, get some quest, protect them or just some random encounters, I feel it could fit a game pretty nicely.
It would be amazing since I didn't finish this game , I played so many hours yet there is still a lot to do

for the game to stop stuttering you need to set the rendering to max, at the beginning it takes a long time for the whole map to load, but after that everything works fine, it works in all 3 parts✌️👍
Project is indeed interesting and looks great. The only thing that concerns me is that they don't use armors from the newest version of Content Mod which look absolutely amazing
I had a look and I have to say all those "improved" armors look like plush toys. Even the supposedly metallic plates feel soft and fuzzy.
Oh that's actually awesome news, the thing that always killed getting really back into G3 were the loading times for me. Stutter was annoying but I'm just too impatient to wait so long on every reload.

That Mod looks and seems to be very promising. While I really liked Gothic 1 & 2, I never tried Gothic 3... I would like to see some new Gothic content that is true to the original series and I hope the new reboot will be able to deliver exactly that...
i truly never liked playing gothic three because of all the missing elements and bugs in the older versions and it has painted my opinion a lot about the game so i agree with what he said... yet i LOVE the old ones though, but this one was like the precursor to arcania.. and both were huge disappointments to me.. compared to the old ones... Chronicles though OH YEAH! they totally brought gothic back to life for me, with that.. brought me back to my childhood with GOTHIC II.. to me they simply revived a pleasure i thought long gone in this age

I love G1 and 2, but I never managed to play G3, for me the floaty combat is a huge turn off and the constant "ah, ah uh, urgh" sounds the characters make while fighting ... is there any patch that optimizes this?

12 years ago all my hopes were laying with the CSP. I forgot about them and Gothic 3, but no I am nearly as hyped for the CSP as I was hyped for Gothic 3 back in the day
I have recently gave gothic 3 another chance. Like the first time, I wasn't able to force my self to finish the game. So this a great news and I hope I will finally be able to enjoy the game. Gothic 1 and 2 are the best games I have ever played (I guess except chronicles of myrtana, that was even better the original gothic games).
Agreed, but they really need to improve Gothic 3 combat, because it's awful, and if they can make combat like in Gothic 1 and 2, that would be amazing. Unfortunately, no mentioning of that in the video.

Because of the mixed reviews, I have never played Gothic 3, but I enjoyed Gothic 2 a lot. This project would be a great reason to finally play Gothic 3.
Gothic 3 is my favourite Gothic title. And yes I've played all 3 of them and Risen 1 many many many times... (We don't speak about Arcania 😅)
you should really give it a try. although not finished, despite all the flaws, if you dont get hooked after montera and dont sunk in completety, its not the gsme for you

I suggest you with "only" the 1.75.14 community patch + the Parallel Universe patch (that reduces stutters)
Gothic 3 is great but 2 will forever be my all time favorite game.
G1(compleded more than 7x), G2 (completed over 10x), G3 completed almost 2x. Its a good game, but first two parts are way, way above g3 in terms of quality in my opinion in every way. This patch might improve it a lot.
I wonder if they could change the weird bow animation to be vertical again like in G1 and 2. Also there is a Gothic Text to Speech Program that generates voices from G1 to G3, Risen and even The Witcher to be close the actual voice actors by feeding it the actual voicelines from the games. As far as I know that is only available in german yet. But i bet it would not be too hard to jist replace the voice actors with the english ones etc

Gothic 3 needs a remake to be Truly Complete.
I just dreamed about all the time. A perfect mastering of Gothic 3. Ive just played it with the current CP and it makes the game much more interesting already but I know there can come out a masterpiece again

Oh my godness. I just tried the anti stuttering patch and it works like a charm. Freshly freed ardea first time since 5 years and not. one. single. stutter. Im baffeled this is even possible. And that raises the question why PB did nothing on this, as it is possible :o
Regarding the audio: In German some very smart and talented community members created a very good text to speech programme which imitates the voices of the Gothic characters. In the newest version it's even possible to translate spoken voice lines into Gothic voices. So at worst we can expect that the German version at least features the fitting tts voices, at best we can get a whole new team of people to voice the lines (and possibly even translate them into Gothic voices via the tool).
Polish version of it, "Gothic Bot" existed (I think they were forced to close project) too, but most voice actors in Poland hate it and wants it banned since they are afraid of losing their jobs.
I'm just happy they aren't using the old TTS anymore. That was horrible. It was less of a loss of immersion to have everybody just be silent.
I'm really glad that old fans are still working on that mess that was Gothic 3. Few times I've seen such a hard affectionate and loving community.
I loved the first two Gothic and still today are among my favorite games of all time, but the third was such a huge disappoint for me that I didn't even finish it.
One of the thing I really hated about the game was the absence of the weapon mastery which influenced the animation and moveset of the combat, you could really feel the improvement in your fighting abilities because the character's weapon use was faster, more precise and could create longer combo. In the third weapon masteries only served for the purpose of equipping advanced weapons, but the moveset remained the same. It was a really cool feature and I don't understand why they removed it; maybe because of short time and few reasources?
Other thing I didn't like: the AI, the placement and scaling of items you find through your journey (which I remember was very strange to the point of being absurd) and the clunky animations.
I really hope CSP developers will fix some of these issues, so this may be the time I finish the game at least once.
When looking at the combat system, then they didn't develop it at all. Its stuck in placeholder limbo. Never developed, never fixed.
One example: Look how they hold two handed swords. Makes total sense to hold a giant sword with one hand gripping the edge... this is something that can't just fly by anyone in the design team. Its too obvious in your face, its too stupid.
There will be at least German voice acting. The gothic community developed a really good TTS tool based on trained AI that is able to "speak" all the new dialogues in a very realistic way using all the original voice actor voices! If you understand German, check out the youtube channels of "Jorgenson" or "KhorinisPictures" and you will be amazed. Also, the German version of the community quest package is able to use these TTS translations already. Right now I am playing Gothic 3 again with new custom quests and a whole original-voice-actor TTS voice-over. If you want to know more about that, let me know.

it seems stuttering is dpendent on the os/rig i remember when i played this in the win xp days i didn;t have any stutters
I tried to install all the gothic 3 mods, but the steam version bugs a lot with these mods. Whatever I do, the problem will always arise that the G3 does not see the modification.

Haven't seen or heard much form the CSP in a while. I'm glad someone is covering it though, I thought it was dead to be honest and I hope we get some news from the devs soon!
Frankly I like G3 more than Oblivon back then despite the issues. I remember STALKER was plagued by the stutters too, either affordable SSDs or switch to 64bit engine helped.
BTW wonder what happend to Baldur's Gate 2 Reloaded on Neverwinter Night 2 engine...
Oh right, I had forgotten about this one. BG1 and icewind dale in NWN2 were great, since D&D 3.5 is so much better than 2 for videogames

I wish they made the weapons much smaller. They are so oversized in the original game. And also it is quite disturbing how different the infrastructure in Gothic 3 is. While Gothic 1 and 2 were very late medieval, Gothic 3 ist like you went two centuries back.
Man G3 has a lot of fans, does it deserve so much seeing how poor it originally was with the bugs ? I dont know but still ill play this mod/patch when it is available, GREAT news 👍
The game does not desreve it. But the fans and those who payed money for it deserve it all the more.
If they would somehow incorporate Raytraced Global illumination and allow proper modded lighting, then even with the dated textures, it would do wonders to modernize the look of the game.
