To many people, it is strange that choi woo shik is most of time stumbling over his words in these press junkets. As someone who has the same problem I wanted to state some points. I think as he repeatedly mentioned the main reason is his social anxiety, which is a very common problem, though it doesn't effect many people's manner of speaking but if you don't manage to control it, you can end up speaking like this every time you're in front of people and there are eyes on you. Another major reason is I think due to the fact that he is kind of bilingual. He spent about 10 years in Canada. I'm not saying all bilinguals are like this, but a lot of us have this problem. I almost always struggle for finding the right words while speaking and whenever I find myself lost for words I feel embarrassed and I can't carry on with what I was saying, other people's reactions also make everything worse as like here they either laugh at you or they stare at you as if they've found some kind of disability in you. In wooshik's case I hope people won't look down on him or try to belittle his talent and achievement because he is awkward in talking. He does seem awkward and clumsy sometimes, but it doesn't mean that he didn't work hard or he isn't serious about his craft. His success is not something that happened because of luck or something like that. I think he's a type that has a natural gift in acting. He's phenomenal at portraying all kinds of emotions in a genuine way. I should also add that I think he wasn't like this since Day1. If you watch his old interviews, especially the ones of 2014 and 2015, he seemed way more confident and articulate back then. The other day I was watching Hogu's love press conference and he was not half as nervous as he is here. He seemed pretty confident and he was talking as ease. I don't know why but he seems to have become less confident in front of people in the past few years. Anyways he's greatly talented. I wish him all the best and looking forward to his future projects.

확실히 배우분들은 이번 작품에서 상당한 필이 오셨나보네요. 최우식 배우 같은 경우는 상당히 흥분되고 긴장된 상태이고, 다른 배우분들도 어느정도 예감을 하고 있는' 뭔가 받긴 하겠구나' 하는 감을 가지신거 같아 보였습니다. 저만 그런가요? ㅎㅎ
네 그렇습니다. 감독이야 워낙 가난을 뼈져리게 저격한 작품이라서 수상유무를 생각할 겨를이 없었던것 같고, 배우들은 다른듯...
별로... 최우식은 어느 영화시사회서나 긴장을 잘해서 저런식이고 다른배우들도 수상까지 생각은 전혀 못했던듯 보임

배우가 말잘하는 직업은 아니지만 최우식 말 진짜 못한다 긴장해서 그런것도 있겠지만 원래 그런듯.. 지금 기생충 인터뷰면 몇개를 본지 모르겠는데 항상 똑같이 일관됨 표현을 잘 못하고 답답쓰..
'같아요' '같구요' 라는 말 좀 경우에 맞게 썼으면. 자신의 생각을 당당하게..
