Even though Blink tries to confuse you, you don't need a cloud plan if you have the sync module. When your 30 days runs out it will continue saving clips to a flash drive.
The cloud plan isn't needed, however if you don't have it, videos take up to 30 seconds to load on your phone, or longer. You also don't have that preview you get on your phone.
You explained how this door bell work and how to hook it up to the blink module then ten videos ive watched to learn about this doorbell before i purchase it. Thank you very much and may life continue to treat you well. 😊 👍✌️
This is the most comprehensive review & set up guide Chigz! Thank you - I was able to properly set up my video doorbell. I subscribed to your channel 😊
I like the way u explain the instruction of the BLIKN DOORBELL very easily n simply. I say that because it took me about 2 hours to do the download n try to get a picture I end up returning it . maybe because I didn't have module 2 I only had the doorbell itself. thanks for explaining that in your video. one more question do I have to pay a monthly fee for the use of the Blink DOOBEL? Again thanks for those tips there're instructive. have a nice n blessed day. Stay safe
Hi! Thx for this review. Tell me, please: 1) Can i use local storage without paid-up plan? 2) Which bell bell device can i buy and synchronise with Blink system?
How it going bud. This is a very good doorbell, especially like the wider angle lens. It covers more of your property than you would expect. Also, when someone presses the doorbell, I have 4 echo dot speakers around the house with a chime that sounds like howling wolves, absolutely love it.
This is a good video. I wish I would have had that when I bought my system. I am not young so setting it all up did not come easy for me. There is only a minimal set of instructions not helpful at all. Without youtube I would have never been able to get this going. But this video really covers everything in great detail
How far back will the data be stored on a local USB drive and will it overwrite the old files over time on the USB drive? Can someone opt to just use local storage (usb drive) over paying the subscription?
I shook youtube to find an appropriate video for this product, working with an existing Blink-Alexa combination. And Voila...I found your video/tutorial to fit 110% of my needs. Thanks buddy.
Honestly, I would shop around. I have buyers remorse with mine. There is no live view. The only time you can look out live is if somebody comes to your door and triggers the motion you can’t just go onto the app and look out your front door at any time, and if you don’t buy the subscription through the company, you cannot view your videos of people showing up to your front door on the app. You have to remove the USB stick and plug it into your computer to look and see who showed up at your house you will still get an alert from the app but the app won’t let you view the videos without a subscription. It’s actually kind of BS. There are better kinds of doorbell cameras out their shop around.
@@BeanShawna you can do whatever you want, but the truth is you can’t just at any time look out your front door, unless somebody activates the motion sensor or pushes the button if you have motion off and even then you only have so much time to click on the alert and go to live you and it doesn’t always work every time
Thanks for the video can I ask do you have to have the little box too ? I just ordered one but didn't order the box do I need it ? Also do I have to screw it in will it not stick on the front door ? Thank you 😊
When you have blink cloud the clips backup once a day to local storage but are only viewable by ejecting the usb storage device and opening them on your pc not available through the app unless you cancel the cloud subscription with no cloud subscription clips are stored on the sync module 2 usb storage but canceling cloud subscription you lose live video recording and hourly clips
You can adjust the motion sensitivity. Mine was too high and every tree branch made it go off. I adjusted it and now only when someone is coming towards front door would make it go off
I apologize if this question is asked already. I currently have 2 blink cameras with the blink 2 sync. If i got this doorbell, can i just add it onto an existing system? Or do I need to use the sync that comes with it??
Hi. Am I correct in thinking that the door chime, when the bell is pressed, only comes through the smart phone or an added camera and not from the sync module?
Well I can say it can come on your phone, an Echo device or the Blink Mini camera. I can also say it will ONLY ring once---then maybe in two minutes it rings again ....pretty sucky as a doorbell.
I utilized my current doorbell wiring solely for its intended purpose as a doorbell, without connecting it to the internet, but it didn't function. Any insights into why it might not be working?
Hi this is a great camera, but only 30 second video NOT good, when you mount it to the wall it's not very good secured, for a security camera it can be demountable easy, I put double gorilla tape to secure the camera.
Yes that's the case with any camera/doorbell. But I still feel it's better to have one and the final shot of your camera being taken will also get recorded. Max size that worked, 1TB USB Drive.
This video made by Chigz is very good. The bad part about Blink Video Doorbell is it will no longer work after 4weeks of trying it. You have to pay for a monthly service!
Sounds nice but I don't want to sign up for any subscriptions. I need or want or cloud storage. Will it work without the subscription?? That's the big question.
I have a security questions: would be a good idea to remove the barcode for the blink door bell ones install in my app? i am afraid that by living the barcode with the unit some my scan that barcode with a different phone an gain access to my camera, would that be possible?
I have the same package apart from the mini camera. I set up routines for pressing the doorbell and motion sensor to make my 3 echo dots in house notify me "there is someone at the front door". However, it does not triggers the routines. I have enabled blink skill on alexa buy the way. Any help please
I heard that when you don't have the subscription and only use the USB local storage, this doorbell will not record while doing a live view. Is this true? If it is, this is a deal breaker because that would defeat some of the purpose of having this type of device.

Can you list all the places where the names have to be changed; and if I already did change them, how can I correct this annoyance, which is especially embarrassing when friends come over?
Will try to help. Open the Alexa app, go to devices, then tap on all devices. You will see a list of all your Amazon devices. Tap on the device that has the same number/letters that gets called out. Then switch off motion announcements for that specific device. That should solve your issue. Let me know. Thanks .
@@ChigzTech Thank you very much for your kind reply. Yes you can. So even if they don't press the doorbell. You will be altered for that motion has been detected. You can then view the live feed and even talk on the loud speaker.
@@ChigzTech Does the motion send a "sound" alert or just pop up on phone as notification? Seems a sound would be the best way to alert me to motion outside my door.

@@TheSexyblack41 Make sure you have the "mute" button off. I've made that mistake a couple of times, talked to someone then realised I hadn't taken the mute off.
I just bought an Echo Show so I could use that instead of my mobile phone. Learned the Blink doorbell needs to be hardwired to work with the Echo Show so have had to order a kit for it. It's just a simple case of connecting it to the doorbell then plugging it in. The Echo Show will work with it then and I'll be able to use the Dots as well. For now, I can only use my mobile. Seemingly it also improves the doorbell and there is less latency. I'll find out tomorrow when the kit (which is not expensive) arrives.

How do I conect two phones to the device
With these things the unit price is irrelevant.
What’s the subscription fees?
I’m an existing blink customer so it just gave me free cloud storage. But for new customers it’s 2.50per month. Here are the details: www.amazon.co.uk/l/20859596031
Going through these reviews and was wondering why people keep asking about subscription. I’m also a blink outdoor camera customer for 4 years now and have never had to pay a sub and now I know why. Thank you, @chingz tech reviews. The only thing I don’t like about the door camera is that even if wired you still need to keep the batteries in, so replacing batteries will need to happen
U didn’t show night vision ?

Can you connect the camera to the old sync module?
Very annoying..was rushing earlier and didn't have a chance to purchase it at £34.99 on prime...went on at 12.15 am and it's back up to £49.99 😭
lol you just helped me setup the doorbell, this is the best youtube tutorial. THANKS.
Happy to help.

Thank you! Cheers!
Voice changed drastically at 1:52 when someone spoke "Micro USB cable" . Weird.
How are you?
Not too bad, just enjoying the good weather. Thanks for asking 👍
Why does mines say event response even with the sync module being connected
