The “net zero” claims are definitely hilarious! The carbon footprint of the construction alone would take decades to make up for assuming their Fairy Dust Fuel was even real!
Very good!👍🏻
Right!
Great comment, and totally agree
Same applies to electric cars. The construction carbon footprint is much higher than for an internal combustion car.
Also, sail boats exist.
eSysman this never gets old, especially presented so capably. Can't say enough how much I've enjoyed watching since the beginning. Godspeed and, Cheers.
Enjoying your posts enormously. Thank you for all you do to keep us informed about this sector.
Keep the bloopers coming at the end, we love watching. We think the world of you aswell Mate.
Agree!!
I can easily get through a 15-20 minute video , so please don’t change the format 👍
..... love to follow along on your channel... by covering multiple stories, you add value and depth to the world of super yachts....I'm a fan ..
Contra-rotating propellers are used to counter the torque effect, thus reducing vibration. They wont effect the pods being used for side thrust. If anything, side thrust will be more efficient.
Someone needs to tell the crew of Nord, "You can run, but you can't hide."
you should do a video on how commissions on yachts work. would be interesting to see the sales side of these megayachts
I was part of the team that moved seven seas years back, we driven it with transporters from the hall at oceanco to the ship lift, after they lifted the communications mast on, outside.
I like the Feadship. It looks like it could be from "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen", right alongside the Nautilus.
The bow panorama room will be great. I recently saw interior shots on a new boat that has one, while the boat was under way. A totally different perspective & a terrific idea, wherever it came from.
I'm calling bull***t on this HVO 90% CO2 reduction/net zero, whatever. This clearly sounds like a fudge of the numbers. Maybe if it's mostly not a hydrocarbon, but then you have to burn ~ 3 times as much of it to get the same amount of electricity, and it probably costs 5 times as much for the same kwh. For example, you don't get any CO2 if you burn hydrogen. But you also don't get much energy for an equivalent amount.
Agreed, Engineers and Managers here (in NL) are great at green speak, as long as it works on the spreadsheet. Just don't actually go and see how it's working in real life. The Health authorities here have started to call out business and local government on this kind of spin. Particularly around waste materials polluting the environment.
where did they hide the anchor pockets?
Thank you for sharing your yachting news.
iHave adhd but your videos are interesting enough to keep me focused😳🍿
Europter rebranded into Airbus Helicopters but you are spot on with the 145 designation. Perfect yacht helicopter. Interesting note was that Octopus (Deceased Paul Allen's yacht) enjoyed both Sikorsky S-76 and Airbus 135. They also had an MD-900. The S-76 is a terrible yacht helicopter but looked amazing landing onto Octopus rear and main helipad at the time.
How do you explain whether one is a good or bad yacht helicopter?
@@derlangsame7813 I would expect it is more to do with the light and quick handling characteristics landing on a deck that is rising and falling quickly. The S76 is pretty big and more suited to the stability of a ship, whereas the smaller rotaries would handle like a sports car and be handier landing on a yacht deck, especially in a bit if a sea. My thoughts only to an interesting question.
My first superyacht job was in a vessel with an extendable hanger which housed an Agusta 109-E. Amongst other things I was the Flight Deck Officer and managed to get a couple of rides. The 74 yr old Boss was also the pilot. We took the Budgie (Angry Palm tree) across the pond and toured the Caribbean plus other places.
EU is posh, a beautiful helicopter.
What an obscene sight. I am all in favour of free enterprise and thoroughly believe in personal effort and the rewards which endeavour and hard work can bring. However, like all things, there are limits. The purchaser, private person, or corporation spending over an agreed financial figure on personal real estate should be required to deposit an equal amount of the price into a social fund.
eSysman your efforts on this channel are clear, great reporting and great channel . I recently came across a statistic that stated the top 1% of society emits 50% of total carbon emissions. By this it would appear super yacht owners are willing to "go down with the ship" Viewers of your channel love boats of all kinds. Can you please comment as to the psychology of "superyachting".
Keep these longer videos. It's the only things I watch on my roku while I relax.
Keep up the good work. Love the channel.
Excellent video Mr ESYS MAN!!
First time here. Nice reporting . Nice that you will make smaller reports for people that want less or more of your news.
I believe I clicked on this from you tube home page.
Much success and health to all.
Good information is always nice to see , keep up the good work . What wonderes me are the goofy reactions of some , pure entertainment
Liked the Feadship. Very smart, would be interested to know it’s classification with the bow line and glass.
Thank you for all your amazing work
Great job presenting the yachts and the story. Very interesting, Thank You.
Love the new boat, the front is a concept that a few builders are starting to add.
Yeah still watching the full show. Fedships new boat looks amazing👋👋👍
Nice to see the bloopers often we forget that this stuff isn't as easy as it looks at all.
Great video! looking forward to your coverage of project Luminance - Looks a lot like Sheherazade and Crescent. Stunning vessel!
"Jaws" is 48 years old, Steven made the movie when he was just 28.
I hope he names the new yacht "Bigger Boat" 🙂
All of Speilbergs boats have been called ‘Seven Seas’. The latest is finishing up at Oceanco now.
04:10 - Counter rotating thrusters (propellers) work like a force multiplier, there are even some larger commercial/military helicopters with rotors like this as well.
When docking a large yacht that has independent rudders you turn them inward to increase pressure, this is almost the same principle.
I believe this tech is a spin off from steam turbine design rotor stages alternate in specific sections to compress air.
Wait till they start to employ Toroidal tip-less props, that are 40% more efficient and near silent (the shafts will still vibrate of course if they are not absolutely horizontal).
Beautiful design and a very nice looking yacht.
Excellent episode. Lots of stuff going on. Really interesting 👍
I have adhd but I just 1.75-2x speed your vids. Great reporting by the way, I enjoy your content.
I have ADHD and enjoy all your videos no matter the length. 🎉
Shared.. thank you
I agree with GT Lees I like the full video great work by the way always so informative Thank You
With the yacht's design I would not be surprised if space robot GORT from 1951 "The Day the Earth Stood Still" is the captain.
That Spielberg story is remarkably believable!
I like the panoramic glass wraparound Noah's room. It has a "DR. NO" vibe to it. 👍🏻
LOL Biodiesel is introducing lots of problems and lots of extra cost. It will be interesting to see how long she can sail before breaking down. The props shown in this video look to be mounted on shafts, they are just not very long. The builder is kind of misleading folks.
Missed this somehow when it first posted. Wonderful treat now. Blooper had me cracking up... a very grainy but... 😮😅 I think I like Bezos' support vessel better than the one it supports. I love the crane, for starters. I wish Spielberg the best, thanks for the information on his new toys. I'm curious to know what if any kind of theater or place for music type activities he has. I can see him inviting his friend John Williams out for some time together.
I wish there was a way to get a tour of that feadship. I'm so curious about it
This conflict between Spielberg's broker and Oceanco is bad for the Dutch yachtbuilding industry reputation. Especially the bit about not reacting to questions. So I feel the need to point out that the owner of Oceanco is Omani billionaire Mohammed Al Barwani,
Would be interested in hearing a piece about your thoughts on the new breakthroughs in Toroidal props (significantly improved efficiency being reported). Appears to have a significant potential impact on carbon emissions for superyachts as well?
Humans are carbon-based lifeforms.
Jawolle! Das wäre höchst interessant!
YaY, Yacht News!!
Thank you for you amazing content!! Each time!
Never give up king @esysman 💪🏼
THANKS ESYSMAN…I LOVE ❤️ THE FEADSHIP Yacht Look’s and details of The future
as for AADD I have never been diagnosed…but I suppose it’s possible 😅
Looks like an H135 (EC135) variant. H145's are based on the Kawasaki BK117 and have a conventional tail rotor.
Great stuff as always. Thanks!
A quick image search and the EC145 has the enclosed tail rotor too.
@@johnsim3722 Its a H145 D4 5 blade machine
About the Feadship. This vessel is a real eye catcher. Howevever the way the windowa loop around the bow, I feel will be a trouble in a seastat that waves ram into those windows. I feel that that alone negates the overall design, making it dangerous.
Oh, I don’t think it’s dangerous - the boat is certainly in Class and every aspect of that feature certified, approved, and regularly inspected by surveyors. It’s cool but it’s just unlikely to be used much, especially in a head sea. On the other hand, owners rarely make crossings, and virtually never in rough weather.
Saw Motor Yacht Seven Seas staying at the Port in Fort Lauderdale years ago, she was moored right next to the Hotel we were in...she was an awesome sight to see.
Thank you from Manhattan ©2024
Further to your comment re Das Boot, the search for the fleeing super yachts is like Hunt for the Bismark
I knew Spielberg was old but I didn't know he was that rich!
Yup, he’s a billionaire. George Lucas is too.
Feadship Project 710: I love the exterior design. Totally Streamline Moderne. But in a 21st century way. Awesome!
What a sensational outlook it would be from the panorama room from the bow of that Feadship. I think she looks quite stunning.
This Feadship watch is absolutely beautiful!! Love it
I happen to have ADHD …. And I can sit right through Topics of interest …. Embrace the difference..
The designer of the Nord is Slovenian Dan Lenard, living and working in Venice, Italy in Nuvolari-Lenard design studio.
Interested very nice designs 😊🙏🏾
Steve Job's boat Venus has the forward room on it. This new Feadship looks very similar in design.
I love that Feadship design
Definitely an interesting yacht and as stated by Mr Sysman, not your average Feadship. Without going through all the comments, where are the anchors stored and released from? The photos only showed the fairleads. Cheers
It is indeed an EC H145 with the new 5 blade low vibration main rotor head Most of the H145 series up until recently have a 4 blade head and have an electronic vibration attenuation system. But I’m sure you didn’t really want to know that😊
Wrong again! (I did want to know that :))
Feadship looks AWESOME!! 🤗
Seriously how big of a yacht does a person really need?
apparently one so big that it has a 240' support vessel
bigger
@@taylorhickman84 it's all kids games as long as the support vessel isn't large enough to warrant its own support vessel.
IMO, the larger and more ostentatious the "toy" the larger the ego... and the smaller the "dick."
@@rae0521 How much money we make isn't related to dick size. Yachts like this provide many jobs and feed families for years, during the build and throughout their service. Often owners are aboard for a relatively short time each year, and the boats are chartered to businesses etc the rest of the time
The exposure is amazing, all the while people are staring on the streets, South Africa comes to mind
Still luvin' the bloopers!
that is some very cool transmission..
I agree on the EC135 as I had my lessons on that type.
Thanks for another update on the state of the super yacht world. How widely available is HVO around the world? Congratulations to Feadship and other builders for pushing for environmental neutral yachting, hopefully aircraft manufacturers will do the same.
Saw it at the gas station today, roughly 40% more expensive than regular diesel.
@@zapfanzapfan Thanks for the information. The cost should not be a problem for a yacht owner, if you ignore the recent spate of yachts being seized for non-payment of debts. It is it availability worldwide that would be a limiting factor.
The videos are Perfection personified
What about all the emissions produced in mining and processing the materials for the batteries
That’s not what non emisión means. Your shirt you’re wearing now created emissions during manufacture. The term is about about what it does once built.
@@eSysmanSuperYachts So, kinda like saying you have 'free healthcare' because it's paid for out of your taxes?
I've got an idea for a zero emissions superyacht...don't build a superyacht! Seriously, no problem with people indulging themselves, but it's a bit disingenuous to praise a superyacht for its sustainable characteristics. If you've built a superyacht it's already too late. I suspect you see the irony. Your channel is fascinating. Thanks for all your hard work.
Don't you think you are taking a funny position here . Telling or suggesting in public that an object is not something to persue but be like you and read about superyachts and then comment on having owning or getting one .... I'll better tell you straight If you want to change the world for the better , stop the war in the ukraine and start a protest .... There you could make serious efford.
Feadship's new build looks like a sci-fi starliner from a novel. 😀👍💙🕊
“Need a Bigger Boat” would be a perfect name for Spielberg’s boat! 🦈
lol I can barely afford a dingy. But this stuff is beautiful to see.
Your videos are awesome as they are and I do have ADHD…..
I personally don't like shorter videos, the longer the better. My attention span is still pretty good.
This format I'd just fine... I did check out the other channel, however it actually Dave's time seeing it all out once as opposed to hunting them all down...
Multi-million dollar deal and the broker had no written contract with the terms prior to working?
beautiful design amazing!
HVO fuel still produces CO2 and NOx, although in small amounts and is most certainly NOT carbon neutral and neither is any other part of the ship.
They didn't say it was carbon neutral, they said reduces emissions by 90%
The Feadship is stunningly gorgeous, but so is Mr. Bezos’ yacht
Well each to their own, I find it stunningly ugly. The technology is interesting, but not the looks.
@@chuckaddison5134 about as appealing as a floating horizontal sky scraper. An eye sore

I thought you were drunk when you made this video till I realised the youtube playback speed was set at 0.75! - seriously now, great content again!
Any news on the beautiful sailboard and its crew that seemed to be be missing several weeks ago? They were sailing to Cabo San Lucas and disappeared?
The new Feadship technology sounds extremely interesting, and anything that will help the planet by the reduction of emissions is an extremely exciting advancement especially if this enables future yacht builds to incorporate this technology into their builds as well. However, aesthetically the yacht is about as appealing as a root canal.
When I was about 30 years old, tasting Dom Perignon for the 1st and only time in my life, I decided there and then I would shed my mortal coil before I became too old, by downing a vintage of this fine champagne and jumping off a luxury yacht! Well at 72 (far too old for my liking) I not only have ever been aboard a ship of any kind, nor have I ever sipped this drop again.😇
I definitely have ADHD but I love the station I don't mind watching all the stories I think it's one of my favorites
There are several approaches to reduce the carbon footprint. These include both new build and refits. I wish more yachts would take advantage of the new technologies.
Q, ... Are any of these Super Yachts used as full time live on boards, that their owners sail around the world on? As far as I can make out they are used as play things for holidaying on, and if that is the case good luck to them but a live a board Super Yacht would be very interesting !! Thanks inadvance. Stay Safe & Keep Reporting!!
I may be wrong but doesn't the owner of the A & R Aviva live on board or mostly on board
Sailing around is boring. Why would someone rich enough to own one want to putt across the ocean?

And what do you care if they are spending more of their mlm money on something? It's like in the housing market, if you like a house and someone buys against you, you offer more to the seller. It is their money, they can do what they want with it. Has nothing to do with you or others.
Why? It is their money. They don't have to do anything, they don't owe anyone anything. And they probably already give millions to charity.
Why should they be obligated to put money in a social fund? And those charities and funds hardly ever give it to the people that should get them none of it actually makes it to the community.
@@ER-uy7ct So you see nothing wrong in a society where a person is content spending several hundred million dollars on a toy while children are going to bed hungry?
I wish there were more shows or channels dedicated to the operation of these yachts. Behind the scenes stuff. Engineering, fresh water systems, helicopter hangars and maintenance, anchor handling, etc. Like, legit stuff. Not a bunch of crew drama nonsense.
He has videos of the stuff you were speaking of there. There is at least one, anyway, that has a great tour of one of the yachts, pretty much stem to stern, including conversations with the captain, in the wheelhouse, and the engineer in the engine room.
Aloha
Thank you.
I wonder if the support vessel has all the necessary machinery for creating wind to fill the sails of Bezos' new yacht when nature fails to do so?
No, he's got trained whales that push it when there is no wind...... 😉
it has gasoline or diesel engines for when theres no wind..most sailboats do..
It's the Ocean.. he's fine. You on a lake. Not so much.
All they'd need is an onboard Taco Bell with unlimited food for the crew. No 'machinery' required.
I wonder if Speilberg has a special suite of cabins just for corys?
Do you know how much the yachts you have covered in the last few months went on long cruised?
Is AIS a legal requirement? You often mention AIS being switched off but I was under the impression it's a requirement not a courtesy? If all these russian vessels switch it off can they not be arrested for that alone?
On the yachts I talk about - yes it is a requirement.
Veth thrust pods - see Volvo IPS. Greatly improved efficiency apparently
I can’t imagine the costs for just keeping these behemoths at port, much less at sea. Personnel, enviro (fuel oil , the private plane to get people to the yacht to use it), fees…
Yep, it is unimaginable. A mere 50-meter pays at least $32,000/month for dockage alone in South Florida, not including electricity. Insurance, crew payroll, fuel, maintenance, etc. If I told you what high-speed satellite internet costs per month you’d call me a liar.
How will that glass bow stand up to the force of really big waves smashing into it during, say, gale conditions?
don't you think they haven't thought about that , it's not ikea who designed it....
@@woodennecktie Having done time at sea, I think this is a reasonable question.
Really like the looks of the Feadship and their use of technology. Not sure where they'll get enough biodiesel to run these superyachts unless mandatory recycling for everyone not just large users. Unless I'm forgetting my chemistry from the dark ages, all burning of anything gives off CO2???
I'm posting about the CO2.
That Feadship reminds me of the Wally WHY series
I've been to that port in Palma. It had motor yacht Z in port then and that weird boat with the chimney stacks that has/had something to do with the Getty family was knocking about too. It was the same week Christiano Ronaldos driver crashed his car there.
