Hi Janette, a little tip give the leaves a watering before you put them away it will help in the decomposition process.( just damp not drenched )No leaf ever leaves my yard intentionally. ( unintended pun ) Whatever falls in a flower bed stays there and by spring and is broken down. Whatever falls on the lawn gets mulched by the lawn mower. My township does a free leaf pickup in the fall, you rake your leaves to the curb and they come by with a truck with a huge vacuum attachment but I never use it. Looking forward to the piano recital next week !!!

Such a satisfying video. I’m thrilled that your “experiment” with the leaf bags was a success; your garden will love that leaf mold. While watching you (and “cartoon Jannette” which I found positively adorable!), I couldn’t help but think how much two of my essential fall cleanup tools might be of help - my leaf blower and my shrub rake. I understand what you mean about the blower; they do take a bit of practice and finesse to use them to the best advantage. I couldn’t do without mine due the number of trees on and bordering my yard. The other tool is my “shrub rake” which is nothing more than a miniature rake with a narrower head and shorter tines, perfect for raking in those tight spots around closely placed plants, up under shrubs and the like. I’ve even seen adjustable ones that go from a full sized rake down to a shrub size. Anyway, that’s my two cents worth. Looking forward to your next video which I sincerely hope will be one of many more to come! 🍂🍁
JC I need a little shrub rake, I’ve been looking for one, that will help me enormously. Glad you liked cartoon Janette 😆 I do have a leaf blower but I cannot get the hang of it 😆🎹🩷❤️

Great to see your last years leaves made compost! Good job! We still have leaves falling here in the southern part of the U.S. but a couple weeks ago I used our powerful leaf blower & blew a lot of leaves into my garden beds that goes along my fence. (We have a lot of leaves & the more you have, the heavier they get & wont fly around as much with a leaf blower.) Anyway, the leaves leave a thick mat on top of the garden soil which helps keep weeds at bay. Then come spring I’ll dress up the beds with the bagged store bought mulch. I have to collect up the leaves from my garden, only done one bag so far. Looking at yours from last year, it looks as if it might have got a bit dry. I would suggest with the new bags you give them a good water mid summer. Then you might find you have even better results next December. I’m looking forward to your recital. Ps I liked the filter you used, very painterly.

Your leaf mulch is a great success. There are so many when you go on walks too. I don't get any other than my contorted hazel leaves. They are so unusual. The catkins will provide winter interest for me. Look forward to your piano playing. I hope you're not losing heart about your channel. You bring sunshine to the dullest day. Thank you Janette❤🎄😍🎄
That’s so lovely of you Sharon ❤️ see you at the recital 🎹😆🩷
Great job !
Thanks so much Marian and wishing you a wonderful Christmas 🎶❤️🎄
hi janette i hope you and richard are doing well and resting up .i hope richard is recovering fast i miss not watching you and richard in your beauful garden ,take care from sally down under {tasmania} xx
Hi Sally and thank you so much for your lovely message. Rich is doing really well, had a few setbacks and he’s just getting over a chest infection too but he starts 8 weeks of physio once a week from March so that should really help help him get back on his beloved golf course 😊 have done a little bit of pruning in the garden once but that’s all really but I have my first daffodils just opened which is fabulous. Hope you’re doing ok and wish you a wonderful week. 🥰
@TheEnthusiasticGardener that is great news 👏 I can't wait to see more videos you give out such a bright vibe so thank you for that 🩷
Hi Janette, I was so pleased to see that it had turned into leafmould, I was concerned that it might have been disappointing for you 😊. Those big bags are such a good idea, I had not seen them before. I was going the other day, it was so cold 🥶 my had and fet hurt! Well done for keeping up the music practice. 🎶 I am not good at playing the piano at all. I wouldn't even begin to try.
Hello Pauline and I’m so sorry to hear you’ve not been very well. Lots of rest and looking after yourself!! Yes I was delighted about the leaves 🍁 too! See you next week for the concert 🎶 🎹🎄❤️
Oh Janette...it is quite a work out this time of year with the leaf cleaning,it seems it never ends during Winter. Can't wait to hear you play piano..it will be quite lovely. If we don't see you on YT, hope to see your smiling face on FB.Take care and happy week my dear garden friend.😊
Thanks so much dear MJ and yes! See you at the concert 🎶 😆🎄🎹
Thank you for sharing your garden adventures! Your enthusiasm inspires me! I love your style and energy! Bravo Janette!
Hi there Lynda and what lovely comments 🙏 thank you so much for watching. Haven’t been able to do any gardening this weekend because of all the rain … but we filmed our Christmas Concert 🎶 😆 for Tuesday, so I hope you’ll join us for that! Have a happy week 🩷❤️🎄
Fantastic job Janette 🍂🍁🍂 your soil mulch looks beautiful 🍁
Thanks so much Jasmine, I’m so delighted!! 🩷❤️
You’ve truly earned your rest. Wow that video was so much fun! Great content as usual .❤❤
And thank you so much for watching and your lovely comments 🩷❤️😊
Can't wait for next week 🎉 you see what a treasure those leaves are 😊 your garden looks lovely Janette, wish I could say the same for mine 😂. But all will be good again by Spring. Have a great week 🙋♀️🎉
Hello Kim and wow those 🍂🍁 are precious 😊 see you at next week’s 🎹 concert 😆❤️
I have to collect up the leaves from my garden, only done one bag so far.
Looking at yours from last year, it looks as if it might have got a bit dry. I would suggest with the new bags you give them a good water mid summer. Then you might find you have even better results next December.
I’m looking forward to your recital.
Ps I liked the filter you used, very painterly.
Hello Mark, you are right of course, should have added water but I was hoping the rain would be enough. Good tip for next year. Glad you liked the cartoon! See you next week for the 🎄🎹 concert 🩷😆❤️
🎉 10:55 🎉
Hi there, thanks so much for joining me in my garden 🪴 see you next week I hope 🤞 😊❤️🩷
I think you need to add water every now & then to your compost bag
Hello Hilkka and yes you do, I was hoping the rain water would help. Hope you’re having a great week 🩷❤️
Well done Jeanette for a fantastic year in your lovely garden 🎉very inspiring. How much time do you think you spend in the garden each week and do you work as well? Xx
Hello Sarah and thanks so much 😊 I work full time Mon-Fri in a school, but I do get most school holidays off too. I only garden once a week, and it’s literally what you see me doing in a video, that’s all I’ve done that week! Occasionally I might do a couple of quick things such as sweeping up which I don’t film. I’d like to do it more but I just don’t get time. Hope you’re having a lovely week ❤️🩷🎄
What nice leaf mulch! Did you need to add water to them now and then? I might try that with my leaves. Right now I just leave them on the garden beds but they blow around repeatedly. Can't wait to listen to the piano recital!
Hello there Sue and yes you are meant to add water, I was thinking the rain would be good enough but I think you’re meant to do that for an even better outcome. See you next week! 🎹🎄😆🩷
