He’s made some comments over the years that have landed him in hot water - including saying that working toward equality wasn’t his job - and he had a particularly messy divorce that ended up making both Renner and his ex-wife look pretty bad.

I Googled him. I didn't see anything about him being definitively gay. I did see numerous stories of him saying he didn't care what people say and to go eff themselves or effing say whatever they want to say, which all sounds more like he does care what others say.

He's a man that has a strong personnality and opinions already studied in mind. He does not feel necessary to explain everything he may be thinking or doing, it is what it is and go your own way if it does not please you. He's damn right.
I saw him on Graham Norton Show and he told a story about having an erection for hours on a flight as he took Viagra instead of sleeping tablets. It was a bit cringey, and bizarre. I think he's a bit of an odd character in real life but his movies are always interesting and a good watch.

What happened to the other jeremy renner video?
If people can forgive & forget Robert Downey Jr 's past issues with drugs, they should be able forgive & forget Renner's personal issues which do not seem affect his performances as an actor. An actor's personal issues are theirs to address, not ours to judge. Actors are human like the rest of us only difference is, they are their lives are public & subject to constant scrutiny by those who haven't spent one day in their shoes. No one has lived on this planet without having made any mistakes. Personally, I love Renner as Hawkeye/ Ronin. Anytime you don't play "nice" with everyone, you become the target of a smear campaign & discredited no matter what you say or do. His personal life is none of our business & he has the right to keep his life private.
