Want to know what would be funny? Since we know that Deserts are originally a big Ocean(Helped with the fact that a lot of Deserts Monsters weirdly enough use Water and are also Aquatic related or in Barroth case having a Artic Subspecies) What if Diablos originally were the Flying Wyvern equivalent of Walruses?
We know for a fact all flying wyvern come from a common ancestor, the creature looked a lot like a giant tigrex without wing. So no good chances are that diablos evolved to adapt to the desert after the desert was created, unlike most other desert dwelling creature he as no adoption to water in any way, and is one or the few monster to feel like an old species but is actually very different from any of is ancestor and modern relative, the most close to it (if we don't take into account monoblos) seems to be gravios (adaption to arid environnement, digging, hard plating, non cannivorous charging wyvern that mostly never fly)
@@icedragon7347Gravios, Basarios, Monoblos and Diablos are all actually related species in the phylogenetic tree btw, it was in the latest Monster Hunter official lore book
I was prepared to have my eardrums blown out by Diablos's majestic roar, but alas.. Just a confused, startled grunt. I like that. Like its processing what just happened and what to do about its drink being interrupted.
To be honest, the fact a territorial Piscine Wyvern like Jyuratodus living in the desert should turf everything and not just a Barroth. The Swamp Area in the Wildspire Waste is so small and there are many other monsters preying on his main source of food (Rathians, Tigrex, Glavenus, Anjanaths).
You can see a lot of water and Apceros herds on the horizon of the swamp area, so it is probably much larger than what you see in the game. Also, most monsters of the Wildspire Waste don't really spend a lot of time around Jyura's habitant; Rathian is a Flying Wyvern, Diablos spends most of it's day in the sandy desert parts... only Barroth seems to stick close to the swamps and venture deep in them, so it makes sense that it comes into conflict more times with Jyura.
@@windrider2190 That's not exactly, what I meant. Most of them are higher tiers than Jyuratodus and would make him run for his life, I just think, he could try to ambush them, so that he tries to scare them away.
A Diablos wouldn't want to let anyone or anything else anywhere near it. They're extremely aggressive herbivores, and even in game are known to be more dangerous to Hunters than most of the predators that live in the same habitats they do.

I was expecting an "enemy-spotted" roar from Diablos but apparently these two are frens & fishie likes to do this on regular basis 😂 That's why Diablos was like... "Ugh..Quit it!!" & shook him off 😁
This makes me wonder about monsters that have a weakness to the water element. Imagining a Glavenus or an Anjanath casually taking a sip, then doing their 'rear-back' fall animation amuses me, even though that would be hell to deal with on a daily basis
One would think that they only real back because we get them when they are worked up and have whatever flammable material in there throat sack active. When calm, likely could just drink.

I love how Monster Hunter isn’t just a game where you kill bosses. It’s a game where you adventure through unique ecosystems where these monsters just exist like animals in our world. This animation (awesome work btw) reminds me of an Elephant (diablos) and a crocodile (Jyuratodus) encountering one another.
the diablos is perfect but the jyuratodus needs to be working, it's like he is blocked at certain part of his body, you should imagine him like he was a snake or something but still, very good animation !
I legit wish this happened in world, I tested it and diablos just refused to go to the mud areas in the wildspire, would have been nice to see him go for a drink and fuck up jyuratodus
The diablos at first looks like a fierce predator that would devour you without giving it a second thought. However it actually prefers a more herbivorous diet. Feeding on desert plants such as cacti found growing in its vast territory. Those horns are mainly used for defending their territory against rival diablos or any wyvern of equal size that it deems a threat. It is not uncommon to see older male diablos to have broken or fractured horns. A sign that they have defended their territory from many adversaries in the past. (David Attenborough voice)
