Yeah buddy looking good! Im stoked you’d ride that board in some sizable surf. How’d it feel? Squirreley? Id like to get this board for z small wind swell. Let me know bud and if you’re ridding 3 or quads. Chris/ Texas
hi Chris! it feels pretty solid in the bigger waves like in the video as mine is only 18 3/4" wide and the tail is actually kind of shortboardy, i've been riding it as a quad pretty much all the time and have only tried it as a thruster once and the waves were so so bad it wasn't really a good test but even from that i definitely felt like the quad is my favourite option. mine is a bit narrower than stock and not that high volume either so maybe doesn't grovel in small waves as well as my white tiger which was wider with more volume, definitely go with the more width/more volume for the smaller junky waves maybe. thanks for watching!
Good surfing in challenging conditions, nice one. I'm seriously considering this board, would you recommend? I'm after a noticeably good wave catcher that you can still rip - would you say it fits the bill?
hi, thanks! the precious definitely catches waves well, better than my shortboard, maybe a bit less than the white tiger or a chunkier grovel board but it's pretty much the same volume as my shortboard plus mine is only 18 3/4" wide so maybe a wider one would catch waves better again. i haven't grovelled on it in really small waves yet though. it feels really high performance and the rails feel really nice under the arm, i'd definitely recommended it, especially as a quad.
@@Dylan_Roose Cheers for that. From the dims in your description it looks like you went custom with a good bit less volume than a stock 5'7". That would make it feel way less grovel-ey and high performance-ey under the arm I guess. I just looked on Pyzel's site and a stock 5'7" is almost 29L, so I'd guess yours is a very different board to a stock 5'7"?
yes, i went custom and went down in thickness to get to my volume and a bit on the width as i'm not very heavy at 55kgs/121lbs and i didn't want to lose much sensitivity with too much width compared to my shortboards as i'm heavily into competing so don't want to have to adjust too much from board to board, i think the pyzel site says go by volume not thickness like you normally do because of the different deck shape, hope this helps.@@silo2105
hi, i was really happy with it until i had a huge growth spurt of 1 1/2" and it became too short to feel good but before that it was super fun, it's definitely not like a high performance shortboard but a fun summer hybrid, i preferred it over the white tiger, i dont think you want to go too short with it like i did. hope that helps :)
Thank you for your feedback and additional information. Then you probably need a new precious in the right size :-) I ordered the 5'9" with standard dims. Let's see how that works out, but the volume is a bit above what I normally surf (I'm getting older and like the extra litres)
I've grown so much in height lately it's hard to know when I'm going to stop haha. Try a twin and trailer in smaller slack waves, it's really fun frontside!

Id take those waves any day over the shit we get in FL. Junky? looks pretty epic
haha, it was definitely fun for the 40 minutes it lasted with the tide, you get better waves in florida in winter though?
@@Dylan_Roose yeah but our only thing close to a point break is occupied by nasa and the usaf. 😎🤙

Thanks@@Dylan_Rooseand good luck with your competing.
Hey, does the board feel like it has a lot of drive and hold? Or is it more loose and harder to control? Thanks
Are you still happy with the board? How has the board been so far?
