Please. The family that “adopted her” stole her. The adoption agency would’ve checked for a microchip. A vet or someone probably scanned her and realized that she was stolen.
Yes and Lett say they did find her as a stray. They Never took her to the vet? Never got her groomed etc. The so called adopted family looks very suspicious

Yes 100. We are ret military. May I also suggest checking that they are still good and remember to change Phone Numbers and addresses accordingly . Also the tag on collars. I just noticed ours was off and changed then { forgot to get new ones when we changed out Phones} Just to Have Our Old guy sneak out of the house and THANK GOD found by a neighbor and call. { He is a 18 Year Old Mix that weighs 14 pds}

People who "adopt" dogs that are microchipped should be prosecuted for theft. No reason why a dog cannot be checked by any vet or rescue centre and almost certainly without charge
