Love my 2019 Audi Rs5 sport back. Bought it in 2020 and have had no issues. Did a mid muffler delete and sounds much better in sport mode, Been a great car.
We just test drove a 2019 with 16k miles. It is an absolute dream car. What concerns us is that it's a 5-year-old Audi (which does not have the best reputation regarding reliability), and financing it for 5 or 6 years it would be 10 or 11 years old when paid off. It's too bad - the RS5 is 100% on our car owning bucket list. If we had more disposable income we may well have snatched it up.
This gen of Audi is pretty good, the main issue is on pre July 2019 manufactured cars there is a pretty wide spread issue with the rocker arms. On anything July 2019+ there is very minimal amount of issues. The rocker arm thing is something that is not a matter of if it’s a matter of when, my friend is an Audi tech at a private shop and he said he’s had about 20 cars with the issue all with varying miles 30k-90k. It can be solved ahead of time but is labor intensive. Overall the transmission is the ZF 8 which is fantastic and as long as you do fluid changes on it every 60k miles ish then it should last forever. My dad used to own a RS7 with the same transmission and it had 220k miles when we got rid of it no issues. I currently own a 2021 RS5 with 45k miles and have had 0 issues so far. Just keep up with the maintenance and these cars will take care of you.
@@SimplyOranges Maintenance doesn't help the notorious coolant and other fluid leaking which happens on almost every German car after about 4-5 yrs...is replacing every single hose, clamps a part of the maintenance too?
I have a 2019 RS5 coupe, and it is a beast. Super reliable, comfortable in normal mode, looks stunning. In dynamic mode the suspension is stiffer than a wedding night prick, and the S and M modes delight with gobs of power on the way up, and burbles on downshifts. I bought mine during covid with 12k miles for 68k. If you can buy one around 40k now in 2024 will low miles, you won't regret it. I'm keeping mine to add to the stable. We are in the final era of ICE and someday when all the EVs are everywhere, you'll be glad you picked up 2020 era cars. I see newer models just going downhill. I still have drools over b8 RS5s because of the sound, and may try to pick one of those up for my collection at some point.

I mean tbf The S5 is a way better option and with everything tuned you get cheaper out than an RS5 is worth while getting 100-200 more HP and you also can change the exaust to let it look like a RS5. If you got the Money and you just want a car in stock build, go for it. but if your gonna tune anyways you never should buy a RS5 if you can get an S5. Beside the very slight (and by slight i mean your gonna have a hard time telling the diffence) build of the cars there is only the RS Logo diffrence and the HP in Stock. In my Opinion just an Overpriced Car, if i had 100k laying around i rather buy anything else than an RS5. also the 2.9 engine having some issues is not really speaking for it.
what else would u grab instead for around same price? im almost about get 2019 model.. but im surprised its lacking in some technology department for the price @@inhaji1 i have a q50 redsport and it literally has more options tech wise. 3 levels of dampening adjustment also. rs5 has 2 ...kinda disappointing but obviously its a better engineered car lol but driving both, not much difference , red sport feels more planted and stiffer in dynamic settings
I have a 2019 RS five 36,000 miles it’s difficult not to find a reason to drive the car my only concern about the car it has ceramic six piston brakes on it first time for ceramic brakes they work exceptionally well the only drawback to ceramic brakes is to replace rotors and pads is approximately $2400 I use my gearbox a lot to slow down so beautiful card and does everything very well
It is not worth it. just think about it, every S5 Stage 1 tune would smoke the RS5 and make it look like an A5. but even without tune the Cars are almost identical and for 20K usd more i would think you get more for a Car than only 100hp more and some slight diffrences the normal guy wont even see. Stage 1 Tune is below 10k just that you know and the S5 goes from 350hp to almost 500hp and your cheaper in the end. you have the exact same interior in the end but the S5 would win. Still a Stunning car dont get me wrong just not worth the up price.

@SimplyOranges most of the rocker arm issues were fixed by MY19 produced at the end of 2018. Most RS5s produced after 10/18 have the v3 rocker arms

I’ve put a deposit down for a rs5 with a build compliance plate of 12/2018. It’s a MY19. Should I be concerned about the rocker arms?
