I'll always remember Kang as the card that got me sent death threats for saying it was a bad card before release. People were absolutely rabid over how this was "auto include in every deck" and "free snap."
Sames stats but change text to: Rewind turn. If I opponent plays same cards, gain 5 power. That way Kang can stay and actually be useful. That'll make it playable.
Kang and Ravonna together are good because you can get Kang out on cuve and see what the opponent is doing. Also, an underrated Kang thing is he shows you exactly how on reveals will play out, e.g. if the oppenent destroys a Wolverine it will show you where that card will land. Most of the time the opponent wont change their play so you can tweak your playlines.
I like the mind game part of this card. And elaborating about the fitting curve part, ravonna set the Kang to 4 cost so if you draw on turn 4 you can play kang and mill the deck. Not just turn 5 or turn 6. This is an 8% increase of milling chances.
to be more precise, Kang uses the same random seed before and after the rewind so if everything is played exactly as is, the results won't change, however if the order of randomness changes then the result could also change, I don't think most people know this unless you also play Kang so part of the mindgame is whether you want to have the exact same outcome or if you try to switch it up by playing a random card yourself or switching the order of random cards you play
@@banan9377 Yup. I used to actually enjoy him before lockjaw got neutered. You could test your draw even on 6, and you could sometimes mil early if you grabbed him out of lockjaw for free info.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, just have Kang stay on the field even after the turn rewinds. Make him like a 5/2 or 5/3, and he'll at least find a home in some C2/C3 decks.
@@d.zuhdis.3275 You could have Kang rewind to your hand (or where he was before) and just lose his text instead? That way you could balance him further by giving him some power if needed.
I would love to see a video of you just saying everything you find wrong/bad with Marvel Snap. We all have some opinions but you seem to be more rational than many of us.
I think Kang could be good if it forces the opponent to play the same way they play on the reset turn, becoming a turn 6 daredevil, but maybe that's to op? Who knows
More than likely they tested that effect and found it unbalanced. I think he needs to stay on the board with a 2 or 3 power, but again I bet they tested it.
I think the issue at that point would be you essentially have a free Daredevil (since it refunds your energy) that you can use whenever you want, but even better what with the effect on Turn 6 being a lot stronger than Turn 5. Maybe if Kang made you play your turn with less Energy or had some downside to it? Something like 2/0 On Reveal: If it's after turn 5, look at what your opponent did, then YOU replay the turn with 2 less energy Or it could be worded as if it's the only card you play on turn 5/6 you're getting an extra turn for you only where you have 4 energy max or whatever.
Oh man Thanks for this RegisKillbin. After missing infinite for a couple of months now, I'm back. and just in time. This is actually a very surprising Deck. Cause no one expects a big Sage follow up free taskmaster. and the cosmo just bothers their play. Kang plays well really here cause he can be a 5 power on a cosmo or a revert the snap type of card.
I've said elsewhere but I think the reworking for Kang that would work, and keep with the time travel theme, is On Reveal, reverts all cards in play to their original state. Removes all buffs, restores ongoing cards that have had their abilities fixed, removes afflictions. Not sure what stats that would get, but would be fun tech.
I've been playing Kang decks almost exclusively this month ever since I auto-completed a deck around my two least played cards to get out of a slump and found out he combines deck thinning with near perfect information
Still surprised by the influence you have on what decks people play. First game I played after watching this video was against this deck. I actually snapped and won for a change.
I have 2 ideas of how make kang good, I based on the "time" that kang is in your deck or hand, what you think? 1) Kang 5/7. For each turn Kang ends in your hand +1 power and for each turn Kang is in your deck -1 cost (5/12 if draw him on turn 1 and play him on turn 6, 0/7 if draw him on turn 6) 2) Kang 5/10. For each turn Kang is in your deck -1 cost (ignore mobius) (5/10 if draw him on turn 1 and play on turn 6, 0/10 if draw him on turn 6)
I said this on a reddit thread (seemed to be a popular opinion) but Kang should have had the ability to rewind or fast forward. Similar to Magik creating Limbo to make a turn 7. If you are in turn 5 and play Kang you should have the ability to fast forward (travel into the future) and completely 86 turn 6. That would have made it's ability more chaotic.
I heard about someone playing Kang with Morph, since it tells you what the morph will hit since RNG is all locked in, unless the opponent plays it of course, but also you usually know *all* of your opponents possible plays!
They should change it so you could choose to rewind or end turn, then it will be broken with negative decks. Imagine playing your line on last turn with 0/6 kang, and if you are winning, you can decide to end the turn and win and also make it so they can't retreat on your final decision.
That game where the opponent seemed to go AFK... I kinda wonder if there is still a bug with Kang kicking people out of the game or his effect takes so long that they aren't able to do anything for the rest of the game. I recall there being an issue like that in the past, but since it hardly gets played, it hardly gets tested.
kang needs to be a 0-0 or have a complete rework. i feel like being able to use him on earlier turns and/or playing him with other cards would help him actually do his job
Before this video came out I got hit with a Kang game earlier today for the first time in like 7 months. Wild. I think it was a similar but different deck
Kang's exclusion from spotlight cache's is very strange too and makes me think it has to be something bigger. I also think if we ever do see kang in a future spotlight he must be getting a rework, he creates cool moments but he's so not great numbers wise and the animation feels awful to use.
Thanks for the video and the deck. I was playing your 'Dumb and Cheap' deck the other day. My opponent played Magik and then, on turn 7, they played Shang-Chi, followed by Absorbing Man. I was very sad. :P
What if we just start using kang how we used to use Chavez, a free draw? Cause it’s still thinning your deck, you can see opponents plays and if second dinner realises this they will rework kang to be better.
At 3:50 regis mentions how Mobius counters entire archtypes, i never considered him one of the best tech's, but now that i think about it he kind of does do that. Just out of curiosity I wonder what the best techs really are because I'm sure most think it's probably shang chi but I wonder if you look at the stats, who really is?
I wonder why Kang was never addressed in their balance patches … the marketed as “Big bad” and then just forgot about it… worst purchase in my snap history
I see you’ve seen my comments on a couple of your videos! Hopefully this will help marvel snap change Kang. Been begging for it! He’s no better than daredevil lol. A big bad should be a good card!
Kang the Conqueror card change that I thought of (and sent to marvel snap’s instagram lol) : Current: (5/0) On Reveal: Look at what your opponent did, then restart the turn. (Without Kang) New: (4/0) On Reveal: Look at what your opponent did, then restart the turn. (Without Kang). Until the end of next turn, your cards revert back to their original card layout. I think this would not only make Kang relevant again (since he is one of the biggest characters in marvel), but it would probably be the coolest card out there! I am playing snap after 5 months , so what am i missing is there any op card should I get . I have 6 keys should I save the keys and i have 13k tokens . What should I do? Thanks in advance.
I wish SD would try literally anything to make Kang an interesting card. Right now he's basically a free Daredevil albeit less reliable, which just isn't worth the card spot he takes up. I get that his ability is hard to balance, he could very easily become a plague on the meta if done poorly. But after this long it just feels like they've just left him for dead. And no card that costs 6k tokens should be this fucking bad.
I played this deck yesterday and my play on turn 5 was to do nothing because I had a win with infinaut so my opponent played it and then nothing happened 😂 Because you have to know that infinaut is happening if someone doesn't do anything on turn 5, even without the Kang 😂
