    It's basically a cheap brand , about 7 other brands selling the exact same one. Just different branded name, ferrex Aldi were selling them for 70-80 quid new . Paying extra as saying Draper. The exact gun comes in different colours and brands , made by the same company . The ferrex one exactly the same and works ok, for home and projects etc . Worth the money I think.

    I bought one of these a year or so ago for £120 ish new. Very pleased with it and have used 50mm galvanised nails without a problem. One thing I noticed was that the gun can get jammed when changing nail size because there was a rogue nail in the chamber. Easily remedied by firing into some waste timber to make sure it's empty efore putting in the new size nails.

    Hi Dean, I have one almost identical to that but badged up as Ferrex, chuffed to bits with it. Like you say you need to experiment with the wheely thingy at the front to get the right firing pressure, but once you have the hang of it, it works great.

    Thanks Dean, Yes I know this video is 2 years old but as we saw the missus in the background of one of your recent new workshop videos holding it, it must still be working. Plus, like you I got one from the warehouse for £119 so bargain day for me Yay! (when I say got I mean coming tomorrow)

    Dean - the intro...OMG😁
    Have you got Industrial Light & Magic on the payroll now? Love it.
    Nice review - I bought a cheapie corded nailer/stapler a few months ago (Titan/Screwfix, where else?!) but I'm beginning to wish I'd had the budget for a cordless. Hey ho, I'll start trawling Amazon's warehouse deals on the offchance.
    Hope you're staying well mate - keep on keeping on 👍

      Thanks Lex! I was going for a bad rotoscoping award for worst key framing, but it made me giggle way too much 😂😂
      Seriously though, having the cordless nailer has come in SO ridiculously handy already, it’s starting to be one of my favourite tools.
      Thanks very much 😊

    Looks like you got a great deal there Dean. I've a titan nailer and I regularly have to use a hammer to flush the brads. Still it's great for quickly securing glued pieces.

    • @raminybhatti5740
      @raminybhatti5740 2 роки тому +2

      I think I have that Titan nailer you mention. It was a godsend for fitting skirting to dot and dab, and for regular woodworking projects. I find applying considerable pressure to the part where the motor is housed, onto the piece of wood itself, usually eliminates the need to use a hammer for errant brads. It's a cracking nail gun if a little inelegant.

    • @WoodworkJourney
      @WoodworkJourney  2 роки тому +1

      @John Larkin - have you tried the spring loaded centre punches that take a Brad nail home?
      They look a fairly easy way to sort stuff out without the possibility of denying the project with a hammer (something I’ve done a lot in the past 😂)

    I got the Aldi one a year or so ago, having come from using Senco air nailers it is very poor. It looks very similar to what you have there. The main problem for me is that it's a stapler and nailer, the firing pin will always leave a long mark if you want the pins below the surface as it is wider to push the staples in. If you are happy with the results and it suits you thats all that matters. There is better out there but not for around £89 which is what I paid at Aldi. Nice little vid hope the gun is good for you.

    Try the Aldi Worx 20V batteries or 18V batteries bcos this looks exactly the same gun as the FERREX one they've been selling and it's basically the same gun my bro.. I watched the Ferrex review and both guns look exactly the same to me but I may well be wrong..

    I've got the ferrex one but haven't used it much yet. Someone said they're great, but the last 10 or so nails will jam it up, so replace when you get low. I've had a couple of jams but haven't checked if this was the cause yet.

      I think it could hold things in the short term - getting screws in etc, but the lack of a head on the nails means they wouldn’t be a long term solution
